Update August 2017: This story has been fully revised and is now included in the Pumpkintown Perils Volume 1: A Witch Mystery Collection.
WHO MURDERED MR. MAPLE?
Wanda practices witchcraft and owns a magic supply shop in Pumpkintown. She drinks, dances, and has a weakness for attractive men. She's also a promising investigator.
Sam is crazy about Wanda but as an overweight leprechaun he's just too short, fat, and ugly to ever win her heart. They did share a kiss one night while Wanda was drunk but she wants to forget it ever happened.
Wild witch and amateur detective Wanda Tempest is about to discover her most challenging mystery ever in the Jagged Wood. Wanda has helped to solve many crimes but she never expected her dear friend, Mr. Maple, to be found dead. Teaming up with Pumpkintown’s lead inspector, Sam Shamrock, Wanda will not rest until she discovers the identity of the murderer. Evil Half-Gnomes, dangerous Wood Trolls, and cheating boyfriends will make solving this mystery difficult. Wanda doesn't want to rely on magic but she will cast spells and contact the spirit world if necessary.
Troublesome twin sisters, a crazy great-aunt, and a spoiled Siberian cat with a smart mouth all guarantee that Wanda's life remains full of surprises.

At first I thought this book might be for kids, then I quickly realized that was not the case. I think this book and cast of characters might lend itself to being for kids with some rewriting and editing. For it to really be for adults, the same thing would need to be done.
I enjoyed this short story about a witch assisting a leprechaun investigating the death of Mr. Maple, a talking tree. The story was well written and easy to follow. The characters were all very entertaining. And the mystery had enough twists to keep you reading. I would recommend this to anyone over 18 that enjoys fantasy and mystery stories.
Easy short read well worth a couple of hours reading
I wanted something quick and easy to swallow after a couple of intense reads more of a plate cleanser. This was just the thing. Still with this seasons theme but light hearted funny and colourful with the mysterious going on in a very autumnal named "pumpkintown" A witch a Leprechaun there has to be a joke there somewhere but all seriousness he's a police Detective and she owns a magic shop with her two sisters Wonda is an amateur Slough who helps Sam Shamrock in his crime fighting escapeds even the names are cute cuddlely and so colourful. This is surely the thing to warm anyone up on a miserable rainy day and as a respite to over indulgence of the genre.
Wanda is busy. She owns a magic shop. She loves to dance in the forest, delighting the gnomes. But she also wants to know everything that is going on around her. Nose for crime…or just plain nosy…she’s determined to discover what happened to her friend, Mr. Maple, who supplied her with Sparkling Sap.
Wanda joins forces with Sam, local law enforcement and leprechaun. They discover Mr. Maple had dark roots, which may lead them to his killer.
Wild Wild Witch is a clever mystery. Their investigation is a fun romp, sprinkled with humorous characters.
The story has potential but the author adds a lot of unnecessary parts. Gratuitous yuck factors. If rewritten it could be a great kids series. Rated for adults but not worth it on an adult level.
Terrible. Really, this novella was just awful. I'm still trying to decide if the author is a 16-year-old girl or a 20-year-old drunk boy. It was cliche from beginning to end. Instead of showing, to make it interesting, Aubrey tells to make it easy and short. "My sister is this, I am that." I barely made it through all 47 of the Nook edition pages. Yuck.
