Developing these characteristics is part of what the mindfulness of breathing meditation can offer. Join Vessantara, an experienced meditator and teacher, for an exploration of one of the most common meditation practices. Found in most Buddhist traditions, yoga and, most recently, stress management techniques, the mindfulness of breathing is something we can integrate into our daily lives.
With practical examples balanced with clear descriptions of the practice’s philosophy, Mindfulness of Breathing offers an accessible foundation for us to develop more focus, more evenness in our everyday emotions as well as more openness and awareness to the world we’re in. For to be better for those around us, we need to be more at ease with ourselves.
I'm sorry but this is one of the worst breath meditation books I've ever read. Some of the techniques taught here are useless. It's way too much contemplation, which in the long run does not bring any kind of peace at all.
The book is very simple with a a simple very important message i read it this way” no matter how experienced or unexperienced you are in the practice of meditation, one thing is going to be the most important thing, the absolute background of meditation in all its levels; the breath.
Great read, I find. Myself actually attempting to meditate. It might not be the traditional way, but my levels of anxiety has definitely decreased. I’m also making better decisions, slowly and thought out instead of rushed.
This is a short but perfect little book on meditation. Although I'm not a complete beginner, I've only been meditating off and on for a number of years, but I learnt a lot and it also made me smile. This is written by someone who you can really identify with. There are no judgements here on being a 'better" meditator - far from it. The writer tackles all the issues we ALL have with some very handy guides. It's a really easy read with easy to follow instructions but it has made an instant impact on my meditation. And it's the guide I'll be going back to as I continue with my mediation practice. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to meditate or who does so already. Thank you to the author for putting this together.
