This book was horribly dull. For my bible class (I go to a private Christian school) we were told to choose a faith-centered book, and this was the one I choose. I'm a proficient reader, and it took me 3 days just to read the first chapter, spending about a half an hour each day. It's more wordy and unnecessarily detailed than an unabridged Les Miserables, mixed with Moby Dick in Spanish. (Good luck) You do not even start discussing faith until chapters 3-4, and even then it feels more like your annoying aunt telling you about something you don't really care about at a family reunion. Long story short, he was a communist, then he wasn't, then he wanted to publish stuff about Christianity, but the atheist communists wouldn't let him. Nothing life-changing or thought-provoking about this book. I would not recommend. At all. Ever.
