Excellent perspective on the lives of young black men growing up without a father and how much the past affects these young lives. Hard to put down. Be prepared for some heartbreaking moments. Well written for the most part but i did not find the ending very satisfying. Love the work the authors are doing and their commitment to pointing the fatherless to the Heavenly Father.
If we believed what happened after Sonny died, we might live differently. We might recognize that there is a God, hear His voice, discover our purpose, do right, be better. Excellent read. Sonny's life was the example. Sonny's death was the message.
Guh, what an emotional roller coaster. Sonny is so many of my students, in one way or another. I need to decompress before reviewing, so much tragedy in such a short life.
