Finally, the past first years of Mercy Sparx comics are all in one easy-to-read package! Collects the first 3 volumes of Mercy Sparx.
Four hundred pages! Heaven's secret bounty hunter is actually a Devil working on their side. Disguised as a human living on Earth, she hunts down rogue angels, doing Heaven's dirty work. Collects the original miniseries, issues #1-9 of the ongoing series, and the Hack/Slash crossover "A Slice of Hell."
Fun collection, but a little scattered and doesn't always progress well from panel to panel. The idea for the start of the story was interesting and the inclusion of pre-existing angels and demons was pretty neat. However, as the story progressed it was hard to follow as the rules were never really well set around who was doing what and how powerful things were.
The cross over with Hack/Slash was probably the highlight. Although it was a little lighter, it was probably the most fun.
It sounds like this story has been dragged around for a while and you can tell, but the major characters were all interesting and worked pretty well. So, while I feel that this is pretty well going to continue on at this average level, I could still see myself reading more in the future.
Mercy Sparx is a hard-living devil-girl on loan from Sheol who has an assignment from Heaven to snag the halos from rogue angels living on earth. Excellent stories and art. For grownups. Highly recommended.
