New York Times Bestselling Author Joanne Wadsworth brings you another bestselling Highlander time travel series blending the world of the faerie with the Clan Matheson bear shifters. Readers are loving it!

He seeks the one his heart desires...

With their fae-blooded clan teetering on the verge of extinction, Jamie Matheson finds himself battling a deep attraction to one of the few remaining unmated women within his clan, a woman he’s not permitted to touch unless a soul bond forms between them. Like his fellow clansmen, he must ensure her protection, even if that means from himself.

Annabella wishes to forge a mated bond with only one man, yet when Jamie treks deep into the Highlands in order to put some distance between them, she soon discovers not all is as it seems, not when her very spirit calls out to Jamie’s from across the ages. It appears they’ve both lived in two separate times, here in the future and far in the past, and now if they ever wish to complete the bond and come together as one, they must first right the wrongs of their deadly past. It’s time to return to when they first discovered their mated bond began, the year 1211.

Come and immerse yourself in this riveting historical time travel romance, one which crosses the centuries and brings together lost souls.

Each book in this series is standalone, and can be enjoyed out of sequence.

I found this book for free on Amazon via Bookbub; this is my honest review.
NOTICE: Reincarnation with a chance of Groundhog Day while getting Body Snatched.
-If you take off all the repeats, lusting, touching, unbelievable and annoying (Cherub) stuff happening, then the story is great; otherwise 3 stars from me.
-I loved the back and forth from current days to the olden days; it was at that exact moment and well done. What I didn't like about it was putting those exact paragraphs not too long after in a vision and repeating everything WFW.
-Several chuckling scenes as when Jamie folds Annabella completely in his jacket so she has his scent.
-In every book they keep saying they need more babies so how did all the pregnancies from book #1 to book 9 help, if ever? Most are twins too.
-Who are Jamie's parents? We keep hearing about them but I have no idea.
-Unbelievable: 1. How do you explain to your clan that Annabella just disappears instead of dying from suicide? 2. Gordon and Greer go up a tree to lose a bear - they go up in trees too. 3. J&A are super intimate in the SUV during the trip to catch the rogues; I don't care she's an empath and needs to touch - do you really need to touch him there while he drives? No you don't. Which brings me to 4. In all the other books, unmated people couldn't stand the touch of someone else on them, unless it was their FM, especially intimate touch. So how is it they keep doing that and they are still not sure they are FM? Even in the 1200s they knew it for truth; why don't they know that in the current times? 5. Women don't give birth within minutes. If they did they would die because of the sheer force in a short time; which is why it's dangerous to have a faster birth. 6. Poor rogues (Logan & Heylin) have absolutely no privacy to their health problems; everything is repeated over and over from one mouth to the other - not everyone needed to know. On the same note, Liam had no business telling Isla about Bella's problems and as a doctor he would have still checked further as he wanted even when Isla had said it was no longer necessary.
-How did Annabella having problems with her courses add anything to this story? It didn't, so why add it?
-I really felt bad for Jamie how wanted to honor Annabella's innocence but everyone around called it stubborn pride; they were not married nor hand-fasted - if they were he would not have hesitate. Both Annabellas, Future Jamie, even Cherub. But I'm also confused as to why this was so important; it can't be just because past Annabella wanted it. It's not explained, though.
-I don't think I like Cherub much. She always arrive on the wrong time and she thinks she's funny. This time, they are doing it in the past and she pulls them back. What??? He's inside!!!!
-There's another Peeping Tom in this book too. This time in the forest with a maid and a warrior.
-Editing: Wrong word (along/alone). Ill-constructed sentences (Jamie had not long taken). What does "I bags the bathroom first tonight"? Here we go again: "stretched out over top of her" "rocked overtop of her" "coming down over top of her".

[***NOTE: I think this is Book 10 and has a different cover. Book 1 has a different title. But the blurb is right for the book I read, so I will put my review here.]

This was such a clever approach to the love story where the beginning of the mated bond between the two main characters had actually occurred in their past, in 1211, and before the bond could be completed in their current time, they had to travel back to make things right that had gone so wrong.

Jamie Matheson is a man with dual fae-shifter blood. His bear was hungry for Annabella, so he tried to avoid being too close to her around the time of the full moon. But she did not appreciate his ignoring her calls and hiding from her. She figured he was safe from her since her bear would not reach maturity for another month; but he disagreed about the “safety” factor. She told him they had been partnered in a mission and he needed to get prepared now so they could leave within the hour. Looking at her, he accidentally let a few thoughts slip which she heard before he tightened his guards.

Bella left the room and his chief updated him about his and Bella’s mission for apprehending two rogue bear shifters who attacked owners of a B&B. The chief and Bella’s brother Hunter both felt Jamie was the only one to be trusted to keep his paws off Bella on a mission, especially this close to the full moon. She was driving the other 37 males crazy with her pheromones.

This was a fun to read story combining fae, shifter, highlander, and time travel into a well done story line with likable characters. The reader can see from the start that so many things can go wrong with this, with the full moon heightening the shifters’ emotional levels and an unmated female bear so close to her maturity. Will they be able to sort out what went wrong in the past? Do they have a possible future together if they can, or are they risking losing everything? Don’t miss this awesome book! The author does a really good job with this one!

Out of time.
(Spoiler) Normally I enjoy time-travel books but in Highlander’s Shifter, I found the juxtaposition of the two sets of H/h’s who weren’t really two, disconcerting. I didn’t care about the 13th century couple at all and from a plot perspective, I kept wanting the modern couple to be doing something—have a goal or mission that was the reason for there being a plot at all. I stuck through to the end though and from a writing perspective it was well-written. We get to watch the modern couple relate to each other and grow into love (which is always nice to read!). However, the fun part of a time travel story is to see how the characters weather the changes and the modern couple didn’t need to do that because they didn’t realize they had lived before (until the very end), so we readers didn’t get to live through the experience with them. Didn’t get to reach much of a reading rush that comes from empathizing or living through the characters’ experiences with them. Now here's a book I really enjoyed reading! I do love my Highlanders and my Shifters....put both of them together and you've got my rapt attention! lol I loved the interactions between Jamie and Annabella, so much fun and soooo steamy!! The story alternates from the year 1211 to modern day, in which Jamie and Annabella share a powerful connection. Both are bear shifters and she's just a month shy of becoming a mature female ready to find out who her soulmate is. She desperately wants it to be Jamie and vice versa but he's in charge of protecting her and does everything to make sure she's safe, even from him. Their inner struggle is real, especially when they both start having visions of two people who look like them and even have their names, but lived in 1211! They need to discover what happened back then and right what went wrong. Giving this a solid 5 stars.

I love love love Joanne Wadsworth’s stories I have most of them on another site so when this one became available for reviewing I jumped at the chance and I’m so glad I did. It was the Matheson brothers stories that made me fall in love with time travel / Highland romances and I thank her for that. This is the story of Jamie Matheson and Annabella, Jamie is a Highland warrior who is killed in battle before he gets a chance to marry the love of his life Annabella. Anguished Annabella claims that she will follow him and they are both born again in the 21st century where they meet up again but neither have knowledge of the other, when they were re born they were made to forget each other. I loved this story and the Matheson clan of bear shifters and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

1268. A fated couple found each other but had no time to forge the bond before Jamie dies.Jamie is needed in the 21th century,o he is reborn to the same clan. His fated mate was also reborn to find him again - but neither knows that they are fated. In rebirth they had to forget.
Finding each other is the easy part, as they are strongly attracted to each other, but they must travel in time to rectivy the non-mating in the 13th century. Not as easy as it sounds.
An interesting concept and a well- written book, difficult to put down at times.

Highland Shifter is a delightful paranormal, time travel, magical, shifter romance. Jamie and Bella fail to complete their bond in the past and now in the twenty-first century they come together to finish what they had started so long ago.

Working together they capture two very sick rogue bears, take a month long escape and find their magical pool from the past. Wit the help of magic, an understanding chief and a strong attraction their bond must be completed in both times in an exciting and fun plot. I loved this story and want to read more about the Matheson Warriors in the future.

Loved this and will be reading the rest of the series. They have a very big attraction for each other but if they can't soul bond will that is the end of that. But the thing is he was born into another time and soul bonded with him. When he is reborn he doesn't remember their soul bond from back then. She followed him and guess what? Doesn't remember either. The only way to straighten the mess out and be together is to go back and fix it. But is that all there is to it? It is a must read. I reveiw this for booksprout.

4.5 star review:
I just love these highland shifter stories. Very well written and captivating with a great storyline and plot. The characters are likeable and well defined. They develop nicely through the story.
The story is a mix of drama, finding the one, shifter, romance, twists, time travel and steam. A story that nearly has got it all. It kept me on the edge wanting to know more.
Joanne Wadsworth is absolutely an author that is developing and she is becoming one of my favourite author within this field. She has a entertaining, captivating and enjoyable writing style.

A romance that started 600 years ago, to be completed with two people that were attracted to each other for some time, but due to their current cultural rules, needed to wait until, the female bear shifter, Annabelle, (Bella), reached full maturity. The waiting was stressful, as there were 37 inmates males, all possible mates, to Bella. There was a possibility that, although attracted, they weren't "Chosen Ones".
A great backstory, keeping the two plots involved moving at a good pace.

Highlander's Shifter is another amazing book from Ms Wadsworth! Once I started this one, I could not put it down. You will be swept right into the Highlands and never want to leave. I'm throughly enjoying the the shifter aspect and love how each warrior has one special soul bound mate that they cannot live without. Jamie and Bella will pull at your heart strings, make you laugh and cry along with them and even take you on a journey through time. Thank you Joanne for another amazing book!!

Loved the story as it switched between the present day and the year 1211 with Jamie and Bella while involving time travel and shifters. They have visions of their past and the fact they were not mated when Jamie died from battle wounds. At the appropriate time, they are sent back in time to assure they are mated before Jamie dies which will then ensure their survival today. It is an interesting story and a great read. I would highly recommend it.

This is Jamie Matheson and Annabella's story and everything that happens to them from one century to the other a story of reincarnation. True love can not separate these two at any time either past or present. A story that held my interest from the very first page. He has to protect all inmates females when he realises one of them is his but it is not so easy. The bond must occur but it takes place over a long time. She knows him both in the past and the future. She needs to travel back in time to make it all done to pass

I like the Matheson stories. In this one we have lovers from the past reunited, without remembering each other. They are still drawn to each other and they’ll have their trials to find their HEA. Entertaining stories about fated lovers/time travelers. Fast and easy read Jamie and Annabella have their past to overcome so they can be happy in their future. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

Jaime and Annabella are fated mates unable to complete their fated bond when Jaime is mortally injured in battle in 1211. A time travel romance that travels 800 years into the future and back again. I always enjoy a good medieval romance written by this author. And this is great storytelling!

OMG

To say I love this book doesn't even give it justice. This book enthralled me from the beginning to the very end. A little bit of time travel but a well-written story all the way. I am definitely going to be looking up other books in the series. I would like to tip my hat to the author thanking you for allowing your imagination to write this story.

Lusty but maybe too much so

Think the plot was shortchanged, by the constant need to have sexual vibes. Jamie and Annabelle loved each other in the 12th century but never completed their union before his death. She was determined to commit suicide. A fairy prevented that by having the couple travel through time and work on completing their mating.

Growl. I found the story line awkward. I couldn't find anything particularly interesting. Time travelers with bears in them waiting to be released.

And then there are the run-on sentences and the commas sprinked in willy-nilly. Just 15% into this, I gave up.

Love through the centuries…. what a wonderful concept! Jamie and Bella are so fortunate to have Cherub and Nessa looking out for them both past and present. With emerging feelings and the anticipatory pressure of Bella finally creating a mate bond, this pair had quite an adventure. I enjoyed the relationship “chase” as well as how all the things resolved in the end.
