Simon Christopher Francis Furman is a British comic book writer who is best known for his work on Hasbro/Tomy's Transformers franchise, starting with writing Marvel's initial comic book to promote the toyline worldwide, as well as foundations for both Dreamwave Production's and IDW Publishing's takes on the Generation 1 minifranchise.
This book includes several seemingly random Transformers and GI Joe issues that lay the groundwork for the big Revolution crossover event. At this point, there wasnt much to them. The stories as such weren't bad, but it was just like reading several random issues until you get to Revolution to see how they tie in.
The cover is misleading because it’s 80% Transformers and 20% GI Joe background to tell the story leading up to Revolution. None of the other characters shown on the cover were in it. In my case this is good because I had no idea what was going on in the Transformers stories. I’m looking forward to this Revolution event. Should be fun!
The Transformers stories in this where interesting and the art work amazing. The GI Joe stories however where not nearly as engaging or as well drawn. Overall not bad but not the best I have read.
