Confessions of the South Side Rapist: 25 Years of Terror in the Gateway City

Rate this book
Confessions of the South Side Rapist is a true crime tale about the life, the crimes, and the motivations behind the crimes of Dennis Rabbitt, one of the most prolific rapists in American history. It relies on hundreds of pages of police reports and exhaustive interviews, especially from Dennis Rabbitt, to tell his story. The book gives detailed and sometimes grisly accounts of the crimes of the South Side Rapist but also gives the motivations and explanations behind these crimes from the perspective of Rabbitt, law enforcement, the forensic psychologist, and the author.

This was a fascinating read, even though it was a little superficial. I remember being really scared of this guy when I was a kid; but upon reading it, I find him even scarier. There are photos of victim's homes I literally lived next door to, and his childhood home is down the street from me. Yikes! I guess I feel like someone who was such a big deal for people in a certain place at a certain time would have a more detailed and in-depth book about him. Fascinating and horrifying. A very quick read.
