Dan Simmons was an American science fiction and horror writer. He was the author of the Hyperion Cantos and the Ilium/Olympos cycles, among other works that span the science fiction, horror, and fantasy genres, sometimes within a single novel. Simmons's genre-intermingling Song of Kali (1985) won the World Fantasy Award. He also wrote mysteries and thrillers, some of which feature the continuing character Joe Kurtz.

Czytadło, nic więcej. Ale fajne czytadło. Są nawet miejsca wielkie. Miejscami nudne dłużyzny. Nie wiem, czy sięgnę po kontynuację. Na półce czeka Žižek i jakieś kanadyjskie feministki pierwszej fali. Nie ma ten Simmons większych szans w tak obsadzonym wyścigu

Thrilling tale based on a foreign world. The pace is always intense and yet we have time to connect with the characters. I started with this one but now I'm definitely buying Hyperion.

Me sigue encantando la manera en que Dan Simmons cuenta sus historias.
A pesar de "leer el libro por las razones equivocadas" estuvo de lujo esta lectura.

Après les Cantos, qui posaient les bases historiques, technologiques et poétiques de l’univers contrôlé par l’Hégémonie, des danger qui la menacent et où chacun des personnage était longuement introduit par son récit narratif, j’ai trouvé Endymion (tome 1) beaucoup plus axé sur l’aventure, sous la forme d’un road trip spatial qui semble plus destiné à un public adolescent qu’aux lecteurs patients qui viennent de terminer les Cantos. Cependant on s’y fait et l’histoire n’en est pas moins attrayante.
