In the midst of the daemonic assault on the Fenris system, a Space Wolf and Dark Angel must overcome their enmity and work together if either is to survive.
When the Fenris system is overrun by the forces of Chaos, the Imperium rallies to its defence, and Space Marines from many Chapters arrive to lend their aid to the beleaguered defenders. The battle to reclaim the worlds of the Space Wolves is waged on many levels – in space, on land and in the very seas themselves. A Space Wolf and a Dark Angel must join forces when the rest of their strikeforce is slaughtered by daemons, deep underground. Unless they can find their way through the underworld back to the surface, they are doomed – but the trials that face them will test them to their very limit.
A Space Wolf and a Dark Angel forced to rely on one another for survival, at the same time that the Dark Angels are bombing Space Wolves planets? Sounds like top notch drama to us.

After Deathwolf, which seems to be a story that often gets randomly bundled in with others, I was concerned this was going to be a bit of a let down as the last entry in The Space Wolves Audio Collection (which someone has uploaded the whole thing to YT: https://youtu.be/TIZem6GotK4?si=4aNmN...), but I thoroughly enjoyed this!
A classic tale of a Son of the Wolf and the Lion who were bros and then they weren't punching on against some very tricksy Daemons, presumably during the whole War Zone Fenris Chaos Incursion thing.
The thing that makes this and other stories like it that aren't particularly deep or otherwise mind blowing are the attention to detail and just telling a simple story really well. With the Deathwatch connection and quality, this really put me in mind of the Angels of Death animated show (which had some of these classic Black Library voice actors who really should get a chance in the big video games) and the fourth volume of the Titan Comics infuriatingly titled, Warhammer 40,000 comics, Deathwatch.
I always bang on about character studies and emotions, but I really can be easily satisfied with a classic done well.
Short story here and a good one. This is about a combined force of Space Wolves and Dark Angels who approach a chaos infested station. The initial assault is a trap and kills the entire assault squads save the two leaders of each Legion. What they run into is the chaos forces infecting the vox systems of the place and using it to warp reality and change voices to lure in the Imperial forces. The end result is the two leaders killing the warped creature infecting the vox and fighting their way to warn other forces approaching to await their return. They turn to fight their way back out. Will they make it? It is uncertain.... This was an audio drama I listened to this morning. I love these! They are great to put on when assembling miniatures or doing chores. Great stuff and the story was well written and narrated by a venerable crew that has viced Black Library audio dramas and books for years. Really fun book!
The best buddy cop audio-drama in the 41st millennium, filled with just the right mix of story, atmosphere, tension, action and with a dabble of horror. As to be expected, the acting and production quality are all top notch. ......Just in case you are worried; there is no real buddy cop aspect to the drama, but the dynamic duo mix of Space Wolf and Dark Angel carry that special kind of tension that evokes the closest 40K drama will ever get to that type of story. Additionally, there is more to their relationship than the description of this drama will hint, an element that further adds to the quality of the story.... But I will say no more other than go listen for yourself!
A healthy dose of gore and the purging of chaos scum. The descriptions of daemons and other chaos spawn are incredible, especially the voices, scary and funny at the same time. I guess that's chaos for you. The blue imp is creepy as hell.
