“If I could rewrite my story, I wouldn’t. Not if it meant you wouldn’t be in it exactly as you are.”
Fresh off her bone chilling adventure, Mia just wants to spend time with Jax and the family she’s never known. But she’s still haunted by her mother’s death. So many questions. So many doubts. Can her mother’s journal bring her closure?
When she opens its leather bound pages, she steps into 1970 Russia. Her mother’s world. Where a young prodigy cellist is caught in the seductive and deadly web of espionage.
If you loved Mia and Jax in Badass: Deadly Target, you'll adore the continuation of their love story in this first installment of Badass: Deadly Seduction, a romantic, historical suspense that will make you re-think everything you thought you knew about love.
While it isn’t necessary that you read Badass: Deadly Target first, you may enjoy a richer experience with this series after doing so.
Leslie is a California native but recently moved to Arizona after a stint in Arkansas. She enjoys travel and being with her grandchildren.
She is an avid reader of many genres, but prefers romances with travel or thriller themes. She loves writing about strong women and strong men because the world needs both!
Hope....one word that sums up this book. The story of Mia and Jax continues in Deadly Seduction. Mia is unexpectedly put in harms way after the sudden death of her mother. Following her instructions she enters Jax' world and there is an immediate connection. Through her mothers journal she learns about the disturbing true life of her mother. After many twists and turns Mia fina!!y connects with her family. An unexpected discovery put Jax and his team in danger once again but also assures a happy ending.
What an amazing venture Jax and Mia went through and now it's time to read the Diary that holds all the answers Mia seeks explaining her mother's life, demise and the why. A fantastic turn of events at the end was unexpected but so lovely it brought another bout of tears. Awesome read.
This book continues from Deadly Target. It clears up some of the questions that didn’t get cleared up in that book. This one goes into the the reasons for Mia’s parents separation. It tells the story of her mother and how she became a spy and how they came to be in America. Mia also meets her father and grandparents. This book really ties up all of the lose ends.
I love the way "Deadly Seduction" answers all of the questions surrounding Mia's mother and father. This is an awesome prequel/sequel to "Deadly Target". It contained all of the elements to ensure that it would be a great story. I loved this book.
Wow...this was an excellent book!! This writer(s) is truly gifted in the details within their books. I have read all four books in this series and loved everyone of them!! Will definitely be reading more from either of the writers.
I loved this book the best of the series! It made me laugh, cry and laugh some more. It shows that love is the true strength that keeps us going through life's ups and downs! Loved the ending!!! Thank you, both❤
I have read a number of your books. I kept reading the other ones because I can't wait to hear about what is happening with the original characters. I have recommended your books to a friend of mine who I know will enjoy your books to.☺
AFter meeting Mia and Jax on their last adventure, there were a lot of unanswered questions about her mother. This book answers those questions and gives even more meaning to second chances. Mia and Jax only thought they'd been on an adventure of a lifetime while fighting through the terrors of trying to save Mia and get information to the proper people, Raina (Tatiana) had her own hell to go through before she ever had Mia. Very thing that Raina went through was excruciating and painful, but I believe the hardest thing for her was having to walk away from Abram so many times. They fell in love early, but because of how things ended up with Raina, they could never be together. Her journal was like opening wounds that you never knew were there. I felt the pain she went through right along with Mia as she read the journal. This is definitely a must read...but only after you've read Jax and Mia's story.
Another great read. There are lots of twists and turns. It will have you feeling all sorts of emotions that keeps you drawn in. Great storyline and characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I received an ARC of Deadly Seduction in exchange for an honest review. This is the complete story of Jax and Mia. I previously read the first part (chapters 1-12) when it was a cliffhanger. I liked it then but really enjoyed it as a complete story. I like the telling of the story behind Mia's mom Tatiana/Raina. Mia was kept in the dark of her mom's life as a Russian spy for her own protection. That protection unraveled with the "murder" of her mom. That fateful day she was thrown into a life she had no knowledge of or even wanted to be a part of. Jax thought he could never love another woman after the loss of his wife. An assignment brings Mia into his life which is forever changed.
Good read. Dark in spots. I understand turmoil and heartache, there were places that I just wanted to skip but continued on. The story was gripping and I thought melodramatic in places but picked up and revived my interest. Worth the time spent.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a follow up story with Mia & Jax from Badass: Deadly Target. Fresh off of their whirl wind adventure to save the world, literally, they are ready for some down time. Mia & Jax are more in love than ever after saving the world together.
However, Jax gives Mia her mother's journal, for Mia to have closure. Mia starts reading about her mother's past and how she was recruited directly to the USSR military spy program. When Mia's mother, Tatiana/Raina was 16 she was recruited to go to an 'orchestra' school, for the top performers in Russia. Little did Tatiana/Raina know this was actually a program for potential spy's for the USSR.
Mia is so taken back with how her mother and the other girls were treated. Mia is looking into how to help those who are human trafficking survivors'. And trying to figure out how to help those families who have / had loved ones who became lost in the human trafficking world.
The story does do a lot of back and forth between present / past with Mia & Tatiana/Raina stories.
As per the other reviews you should read Deadly Target (of the Badass series), before reading this short little novella. In this book we get an update on Mia and Jax (from Deadly Target), while also getting the first part of Mia’s mother Tatiana/Raina’s origin story. It does end on a cliffhanger, though, while very brief it is a compelling beginning to how and why Mia’s mother became what she was before being murdered.
I really liked this novella. It is one of the few I’ve read that don’t end with your typical HEA. Usually I don’t like books that don’t end happily, but Deadly Seduction is written in a way that sucks you in and makes it impossible to not want to know more about the life of Tatiana/Raina.
Although Raina’s young love Abram wasn’t really included all that much, I found myself needing more of them. I can’t wait for part 2 of this heartbreaking story!

This is a continuation of Badass Deadly Target. This story centers around Mia's mom, Tatiana/Raina and how she became a spy. Mia is reading her late mother's journal to get a better understanding of who she was and why she taught her the things she did. One thing her mother had her do was make a "dream board" (bucket list) and Jax decides he is going to help her fulfill her dreams. Leslie and Elle have created a backstory that helps Mia understand who she really is. This is a great adfition to the Badass series. I do recommend reading Badass Deadly Target series first to get some onsite on what led to Tatiana's death and the steps Mia had to take to save herself. I received a this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review.
Mia and Jax survived and are more in love than ever. Mia has her father now, but still feels the loss of her mom. To feel closer to her, she reads the journal Tatiana left her. This is a continuation of Jax and Mia's story as well as her mother's story. It's not a standalone. You'll need to read Badass Deadly Target first. I literally couldn't put this book down. It pulled me in and kept me until the last sentence. What a ride Leslie Johnson takes you on. Many ups and downs with a few cork screws thrown in. I've read most if not all of Leslie's books and haven't been disappointed yet. If you like romance with dark suspense, this book is for you. Absolutely fantastic writing. Told in multiple POV's.
Leslie Johnson and Elle Dawson have done it again with another Badass book.
It has been one month since Mia's father and grandparents arrived in the US from Russia. Jax encourages Mia to read her mother's, Tatiana, journal. Mia is learning how Tatiana became a spy for the USSR. Jax and Mia are getting closer.
Well written story about the covert spy process Tatiana went through. Looking forward to book 2.
This short story is a continuation of Mia and Jax's story, so I was quite pleased to read more about them. There is also a story within a story about how Mia's mother became a spy for Russia and how much she had to go through to become the woman Mia knew as her mom. All in all, I found myself devouring this book.
Leslie and Elle do an amazing job of drawing you in and not letting go. It does end in a cliffhanger, but I can't wait to find out what happeneded next to Mia's mother.
A great beginning of a new series and an continuation of a past series! Leslie Johnson/Elle Dawson never disappoint.
I think the blurb about the book tells you enough to help make up your mind if you'll enjoy this book or not. So, I'll just add that it's an enjoyable book and I can't wait to see what happens! I love Mia and Jax (and you know it's always hot with those two)!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another great book from the Badass series! A fast read. I really enjoyed the story and it was interesting look into the history of Tatiana. Historical romance usually isn't something I would choose to read but this book had me hooked.
This is a very difficult story to read. To be honest, I read only half. I couldn't finish it because it was horrible. Not the story but the subject and what happens in the story. Too much for me.
