They always called me crazy. Sociopath. A monster without a conscience. I always thought they were right. I've never backed down from anything, and the only thing that has ever soothed the monster in my chest was killing.
Then she walked into my life. The woman who seduced me so she could sell my secrets to my enemy.
I should have killed her, but when I looked into her eyes I knew she was the only one who could save me from myself.
I'll kill to protect her. And then I'll make her mine.
I am Nora Ash, and I write a plethora of different romance books. Some of them are really dirty, some of them are only kinda-dirty, some are paranormal, some are contemporary… Basically, I have a rampant imagination and no way of controlling it, except from just writing down whichever idea pops into my head at the time.
The one thing my books always have in common, though? A great story and a guaranteed HEA. If you’re ever in doubt about what you’re about to read, have a look at my book page. It has a flame rating for each series, so you know what you’re getting yourself into!
I’m originally from the cold North (AKA Scandinavia) but these days I live in rainy England with my amazing fiancé and our two pesty cats. When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, watching Real Housewives of Wherever (reality tv it’s my shameful addiction) or hiking in whatever bit of woodland I can find.
Three fun facts about me
I once ran away with a traveling circus I’m bilingual. Almost-kinda trilingual, but my Spanish is terri-bad these days. I’m a decent rider (English style only, though)

CAPTIVATING, SEXY AND DELICIOUSLY DARK !!! Title: Monster Series: Made and Broken Designation: Book Two of Series, Full-Length Standalone, NO Cliffhanger Author: Nora Ash Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited My Rating: Five Sinfully Delicious Stars***** Wow! Just when I thought this series couldn't get any better, it did! I truly believed it impossible for any future releases in this series to be better than the first book Dangerous, but I was dead wrong! After reading Dangerous, I could hardly wait to race back to Amazon to download Monster, and Ash certainly did not disappoint. She not only met all my expectations, she surpassed them! Monster has now claimed its place as one of my all-time favorite books - ever! Marcus Steel is my new favorite badboy book-boyfriend! I've been a diehard Nora Ash fan since I discovered Branded, the first book in her Demon's Mark Series, on Amazon several years ago. I think it may have been her first release, or at least the first under the pen name of Nora Ash. Anyway, it was offered as a free ebook download, and I'm always on the lookout for a great bargain. Who doesn't love freebs, right? Don't get me wrong, I love freebies, but I also want a good book. I certainly don't want to invest my time into something I won't enjoy, but I was truly intrigued by the blurb so I decided to read the free sample. I was more than just a little impressed with what I'd read, so I downloaded the book and dug in. Now, I'm the first to admit my tastes in reading are extremely eclectic and quite adventurous for an old bird. I adore romance, but I also look for something a little different and out of the ordinary. I'm a voracious reader and in my almost 70 years, I've seen and read just about everything. But, folks, what I found was about as far from ordinary as you can get. The writing style of Nora Ash can be described as many things, but ordinary is not one of them. It was actually quite extraordinary. Ash's Demon's Mark Serial is a deliciously dark and extremely imaginative paranormal erotic romance, and one of the most unique and delightfully depraved stories I've ever read. It was fabulous and I was hooked! And thus began my love affair with all things Nora Ash! I followed the story through the entire series and became obsessed with everything Ash wrote. Her next offering was Darkness, a four-book paranormal menage romance serial, which I also devoured. I was so excited when I recently learned Ash planned to release a new contemporary mafia bad boy romance series and could hardly wait to get it in my hot little hands. And once again, Ash dazzled me with more deliciously dark sexy goodness and totally knocked it out of the park with Dangerous, the first release in the Made and Broken Series. Fortunately for me, by the time I read Dangerous, the second book of the series was also available so I again raced back to Amazon to download it using Kindle Unlimited. (Geez! I love Kindle Unlimited! All the books I can borrow and read for less than 10 bucks a month...and I read a ton of books!) Unlike the books in Ash's first two serials, each of the books in this series is a full-length novel with no cliffhanger and can be read as a standalone. Woo-hoo! However, many of the characters introduced in the first book reappear in each subsequent book. Each release features one of the six brothers of the notorious Steel crime family of London as they struggle to overcome their horrifically violent upbringing, a heartless controlling father and their obligatory inherited involvement in the treacherous London mafia after meeting the one special woman who sees beneath their dangerous facades, past their darkness and captures their hearts. Love is a foreign concept to these men, one that is as perilous as it is unwelcome, for them as well as the women who risk everything to love them. There is also an underlying interconnected storyline where the sins of the father and his treachery are eventually revealed as the series progresses. So for those two reasons, I highly recommend reading the books in order of release date. Obviously, at the time of this review, I have read both the first and second books of the series. Guilty as charged. I became so caught up in the tragic lives of these six brothers, I simply could not stop reading. Yeah, it's that good! But as usual, I digress, so let's talk about this book.
Monster is a riveting, fast-paced, well-crafted, well-edited and deliciously dark gut-wrenching romantic psychological crime thriller with a beautifully written his and her clearly defined first-person narrative and filled to the brim danger, drama, heartbreak, angst, suspense, violence, treachery, betrayal, passion, romance, and sex. Now, folks, let me be perfectly clear. Monster is not erotica but it is erotic. In romance novels, there are wild, steamy sex scenes that are just about the sex, and then there are explicit, exquisitely written love scenes that are all about the romance and emotion. In Monster, you get the best of both worlds, the perfect combination of heated attraction, wild fiery passion, sweet romance, and dreamy sex... and though plentiful and prominent in the story, it's secondary to the actual plot and only serves to enrich the story. The sex is not 'the story'. I know that may be a little confusing to some, but I believe most of you know exactly what I'm trying to say. The dialogue is smart, snappy, raw, emotional, seductive, well executed and flows effortlessly. But without a doubt, my favorite component is the magnificent cast of well-developed characters. I found them to be captivating, fascinating, complex, intriguing, engaging and sexy as sin. I was immediately drawn into the story by the two protagonists, beautiful full-figured honey-trap Evelyn Embry, and handsome, emotionally damaged and very withdrawn mafia bad boy Marcus Steel. These two lost souls were absolutely perfect together and played off each other brilliantly. Their attraction to each other was immediate and their sexual chemistry was so hot it literally blazed out of control! Both Evelyn and Marcus desperately longed for love but had no idea how to find it or what to do once they did. The scenes between Evelyn and Marcus were at times heartbreaking but always mesmerizing. When these two lost souls met, it was explosive and a love was born that defied everyone and everything. I laughed with them, empathized with them, sobbed for them, and outright ugly cried as my heart broke for them! It was fabulous!
Evelyn Embry hated her life and both of her jobs. When she wasn't working as a waitress at some greasy spoon, she was trying to work off her debt by being a honey trap for mafia boss Gerald Brigs. Yeah, that's what happens when you borrow money and can't pay it back. But she had no choice. she was desperate and would do anything to save her mother. In her eyes, family is everything and her mother is all she has left in this world. Unfortunately, she's slowly losing her, too, and there's not a darn thing she can do to stop it. Little by little, every single day, her mother loses more and more of herself to the devastation of Alzheimers and all Evelyn can do is sit idly by and watch as the horrendous disease ravages her mother's body and brain. She'd been adamant with Brigs from the very beginning that she would never work in one of his brothels, which is how she wound up as a honey trap, enticing and trapping her marks, but she'd never had to go all the way with any of them sexually...until now. A man as handsome as her next mark would expect a lot more than just flirting and this time, Brigs wanted her to do a lot more than set a trap. He wanted her to go to Marcus Steel's home, seduce him, figure how the combination to his safe and find a way to gain entry into said safe to steal a pen drive...like some sort of spy. What the heck? But a gorgeous wealthy man like Marcus Steel would never want a woman like her... Or would he? We'll see!
Marcus Steel knew he would never be able to have a happy life. He didn't deserve it. He was a monster. No woman would ever be able to see past the darkness in his soul and love him for who he truly is. But that doesn't stop him from longing to feel the comfort and warmth of a woman's love...especially the beautiful curvaceous little red-haired beauty who currently had her hand on his thigh..um...and higher. What the heck was she doing? He doesn't even know this woman but it seems she's determined to know him. But can he trust himself not to unleash his monster long enough to have her? Maybe just for one night....but one night would never be enough with Evelyn. She may have set out to steal from him, but she stole far more than money and a pen drive...she also stole his heart. Oh my! Now he wants her and will do anything to keep her, and that may even include a little dirty pool on his part. But when she crosses her boss to protect Marcus, will he be able to keep her safe from Brigs and his family? Maybe...but only if she agrees to give him.... Nuh uh...no spoilers from me! You'll have to read the book to find out what Marcus demands from Evelyn as payment to keep her and her mother safe.
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers. Will I read this author again? Duh...is that a trick question? Of course, I will, just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Completely and totally! This book was especially gut-wrenching for me and affected me tremendously. I lost my mother to Alzheimers and witnessed her struggle as she fought a losing battle against a horrible and devastating disease. I felt as if Evelyn and I were kindred spirits. I felt her pain and desperation. Kudos, Nora Ash, for giving voice to the countless millions in the world who suffer hopelessly and silently with this condition. Your representation in this book was handled intelligently as well as sensitively and I thank you. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! ***I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program but purchased it afterward for my permanent library.***
Very hot and sexy with lots of action. Devastatingly handsome Marcus is really messed up. The things his crime-boss father made him see and do as a kid turned him into a monster. Luckily for Marcus, sometimes a monster can be tamed.
While reading the first book in the series, Dangerous, I wondered what was going on in Marcus' head. You find out in his POVs. Marcus is an odd combination of sexy bad boy, brutal gangster and a man who has endured such torment that, his thoughts are sometimes child-like as a way to protect himself. I think this is the most compassionate I've ever felt for someone widely considered to be a sociopath.
I like Evelyn and Marcus as a couple. She's just what he needs. They fall for each other pretty fast, but it works. The story drifts at the end, wrapping up too quickly. I wanted to like the book a lot more than I actually did.
I still enjoyed the story, especially how the brothers interact. Blaine and Mira (from "Dangerous") are woven into the plot instead of just being casually mentioned to update readers on their lives.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Book: Monster Read By: Ebook and Audio Author: Nora Ash Narrator: Rachel knight and Shane East Genre: Dark Romance, Contemporary Main Characters: Marcus and Evelyn Recommend: Yes Spice: 🌶️️ 🌶️️ 🌶️️ Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
Holy bat balls I love this series!
“I know you feel it, too,” I said, softly so as not to spook her. “The attraction between us. It’s more than physical, even if that’s all you see right now. That’s okay. I can wait. I’ve waited all my life for you—I can wait a few more months. Or years, if that’s how long it takes. But one day, you’ll be my wife.”
I grabbed book one from the stuff your kindle day, and man oh man did I instantly fallen love with it.
“My father might have forgotten what our motto used to be, but I haven’t. She is your family, and that makes her mine. I told you—I will protect both of you. At any cost.”
Book one left me with this crazy need to find out about Marcus. Marcus is 100% the type of book bf I love.
“It was an odd sensation, looking at the only two people in my life who had ever taken care of me and knowing that this perfect slice of life would never truly be mine. That it was a fleeting moment in time showcasing what might have been, if life had turned out differently.”
So of course I grabbed book 2 with audio and settled in for the ride. And it didnt disappoint! Marcus is a broody, alpha hole who has issues and needs to be babied by a strong women, that’s where Evelyn comes in. Of course he falls for her the second he sees her face. Complete goner. The Steele boys clearly have a type… curvy red heads lol
“There are always reasons, Evelyn.” She pulled back from our embrace and cupped my face for a short moment, brushing away the single tear that had escaped my attempt at holding my emotions back. “And it’s never simple. I can tell he’s not an uncomplicated man, he has pain and darkness. But if he is as devoted to you as I believe, you let him in and don’t ever let go. Don’t throw away your chance at happiness because your father was an idiot.”
I cannot wait for the next book! I hope Nora Ash dose a book for every sibling. I wanna see if the twins share or get married separate…. Im kind of hoping for a harem…. But we shall see.
“He simply smiled, stroking his thumbs across my knuckles in a gentle caress. “Will you?” “Yes. I will marry you, Marcus.”
Highly recommend!

Monster was a surprising read, I knew it was going to be dark but I did not expect the emotion it would envoke in me. I did not expect the knots in my throat at the end when I found myself sad but also hopeful. When I first met Marcus in Dangerous (Made & Broken #1) he immediately drew me in, I wanted to know his story.
Monster reflects his true inner turmoil and some readers may find him hard to connect with. He is dark, dangerous yet draws you in, you want him to find peace. He is brutal when his inner demons come out, some parts of this story are quite violent but they reflect Marcus. What healed my turmoil over this was his brother's actions and how they silently backed him up, they were always there for him.
Evelyn was a perfect female character for Marcus, the way she communicates to the Monster and draws him to the light was beautiful. She was strong and resilient and stood up for herself.
I was glad the author took their love on a different path to Blaine and Mira, even though it was still insta-love. The author explains the attraction for both Blaine and Marcus towards the end of this story with their mother. We learn more about the Steel family and all their secrets. This is a great Mob Romance that held me captive and I read in a day.
Again, upon finishing book 1, I bought book 2 and 3 as these brothers all drew me in and I need to know their stories. I am so excited to read the twins story about what type of women brings these two to their knees.
Monster ends at a sad but also happy moment in time for this couple. I do hope I find out more about Marcus and Evelyn in the third book being Trouble. I would love to see these Steel brothers unite their family together in this final installment especially with their other brother.
I feel like everything happened way to fast in this book. There was no buildup, no intrigue, nothing. I was rather disappointed that Marcus, the proclaimed Monster and Psycho literally fell in love with Evelyn like the moment she came on to him at the bar, talk about instalove at its finest! Their relationship spiraled pretty quickly, within like 24 hours of meeting and sleeping together, Marcus tore apart a rival mob member who hurt Evelyn, they moved in together, became 'engaged' and decided to have a baby! I mean to Evelyn it was just a deal to save her life but Marcus took that shit serious, it really only took Evelyn like a day or two to get onboard. It was just all a little too cheesy and hokey for me, plus it ended so fucking abruptly! One minute they are all cuddly and getting engaged for real at the motel and then...that's it..its over! That just sucked!
The most interesting thing that occurred in this book was the brothers all finding out what their deranged father did to their two oldest brothers. I would like to see how they are going to avenge their brothers misfortune at the hands of the Steel patriarch. Here's hoping the funny and light hearted twins have a better story because Marcus's story was just so fucking disappointing!
In this second book in the Made and Broken series, we get Marcus and Evelyn’s story. We got a brief intro to Marcus in Dangerous, and I was immediately drawn to the quiet, sociopathic brother that freaked out their brothers from time to time.
Marcus is on constant watch that his darkness doesn’t consume him. He’s able to control it for the most part, but when he lets it off its leash, there’s no stopping the death and destruction that occurs. When Evelyn is assigned by a rival crime family to seduce then steal from Marcus, she wasn’t prepared for the monster within him. When they meet, there’s an almost immediate bond, but Marcus is just a mark, and Evelyn can’t worry about the aftermath of her actions. She has her own reason for doing them. But when Evelyn’s life is threatened, Marcus sees Evelyn as inevitable, and will do whatever he needs to do to save her.
I found Marcus’ story haunting. He’s harboring a lot of dark secrets, and Evelyn seems to be the one person to bring light to his life. There’s plenty of nasty, filthy, erotic goodness, and I’m loving how the story unfolds. This continues the dark storyline of the Steel crime family, and there’s a bit more of a roller coaster in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and can’t wait for the next book, Trouble.
Shane East and Rachel Knight narrate this book, but Shane is really showing off his acting range. His performance is stellar.
Marcus and Evelyn, I don't know where to start. I received an email from one of the authors I follow and Monster was a recommended book to read. I had no idea what to expect but the description caught my interest. I was not disappointed. Marcus is a complex character,to say the least. He has little ability or the desire to form relationships with people, including his brothers. He loves his brothers and would do anything to protect them but shows no emotion towards them. There is a side of him that he can't control when it comes out. Evelyn comes into his life to steal from him. Marcus finds himself drawn to her but doesn't understand why. Evelyn doesn't trust men,so how can she possibly trust a man with something to hide? The storyline in this book will have you reading until you get to the end to find out what happens. I didn't read the first book but I will now and I hope there are more Steel brothers books
Surprisingly, I enjoyed this a whole lot than the first book. Marcus is a huge life like teddy bear hiding beneath a tough exterior. There were a lot of tender moments between this couple even though I felt that Evelyn was a walking cliché at the beginning. She is good for Marcus and I particularly admire her deep love for her mom which Marcus immediately shared. That last few chapters broke my heart but I am really glad it ended well for them atleast. I had an issue with the ending though. I felt it was a cliff hanger. There were a few grammatical errors but overall it was really good writing.
My God, this book. Marcus could just be pure evil, but as you learn more about him you find he's got layers. I listened to the audiobook and I honestly don't think anyone other than Shane could have done Marcus justice. Rachel was perfect as Evelyn. She really brought all of the emotion into her performance. A standout scene for me was the meeting with Marcus and his family. His performance was really fantastic in that scene. This story is gripping and suspenseful, crazy and hot as hell.
Monster is another fabulous page-turner by Nora Ash.
God, I just cannot get enough of that touch-her-and-die trope, and this book has that in spades. This book is the second book in the series, and I would recommend reading the previous book first. Each book in this series features a different couple, but this overarching storyline builds up with each new installment. The overarching story has to do with the Steel brothers and their rocky relationship with their father. First, I have to say that I love the mafia drama in this book. With every new book, we learn that the Steel brother’s father is a terrible, ruthless man and that in his desperation to ensure that no one threatens his position in the family, he has broken the family rule that states that you protect the family at all costs. Nora is building us up for a big showdown between the brothers and their father.
We meet Marcus in the first book, and his brothers make him out to be this crazy, violent monster that you have to be careful around. However, bookworms who read the first book also saw this other more gentle and quiet side of Marcus that he only showed to Mira. His character instantly intrigued me, and I wanted to see what truly lurked underneath that ruthless killer exterior. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s a much steamier read than the first book, and Marcus is a character with a surprising amount of depth. Readers be warned this is a Mafia romance, which means that there is going to be violence, and the heroes in this book are morally gray men who use violence and fear to get what they want and protect the ones that they love. I wouldn’t necessarily say this is a true dark romance, but it does flirt with that dark romance sub-genre.
The relationship between Evelyn and Marcus was this fabulous blend of sexy and sweet. There is a lot of banging going on between these two, and if you are a fan of a breeding kink trope, then you are going to enjoy the steamy bits in this book. But outside of all the physical lusty chemistry, these two have a quieter connection. There was a surprising amount of quiet moments between these two. Evelyn really sees Marcus and realizes he is struggling with inner demons, and of course, she is the one to help quiet those demons in Marcus. I enjoyed watching these two interact with each other.
You are going to enjoy this book if you are a fan of: mafia romance, breeding kink, alpha male, touch her and die, enemies to lovers, prisoner/bodyguard romance, and forced proximity tropes. Nora does a great job at just creating a really good mafia romance that is a lot of fun to read.
Monster is a quick and dirty mafia romance, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
This is the second book in the Made & Broken Series, a dark romance. I love this Series! The story is captivating. Marcus and Evelyn are great characters, and their chemistry is like fire! Marcus is a ruthless, handsome, and powerful alpha mafia man. Evelyn is a lovely character, beautiful and strong. The storyline is suspenseful, action packed, filled with drama, danger and intrigue. I love the ending. The secondary characters are great, and they have an important part in this story. I was sad for Evelyn's Mom. Rachel Knight and Shane East did an outstanding job with the narration. This is another great story from Nora Ash. Looking forward to read/listen to the next book in the Series, Liam and Louis story, a MFM romance. I highly recommend this audiobook, and the entire Series.
Fast pace sexy alpha mafia bad boy. Marcus has all types of issues starting from childhood. He has inner demons which causes him to inflict pain. Evelyn is a honey trap working for the mafia looking to take out the steel family. Two different mafia sides coming together because of love. The attraction is instant and beautiful. From page one to the end it's action packed, betrayal, loyality, and hot sexy secenes. My first read in this series. All he characters are likable can't wait to read the first book and he other books to come. You won't be disappointed. I received this ARC in exchange for a honest review.
This was one of the best books I've ever read. Nora Ash is literally in my top 3 favourite authors and I adore the intensity of the connection between Marcus and Evelyn. I loved how sge described Marcus and his energy- it was so compelling and exquisitely woven, I was in awe of just how perfect everything was. The dialogue, the emotions, omg!! I think I highlighted the entire book because every moment made me swoon and I swear I had been dying to read this after reading the excerpt in Blaine's book. I read this in a few hours and I got so addicted to those two. Loved this book and highly recommend it, Marcus' character development was so beautiful to witness. Keep it up, dear author!
Monster: (A Bad Boy Mafia Romance) by Nora Ash is a great read. This is the second book in the Made & Broken series. This is the story of Marcus and Evelyn. Marcus is a monster and Evelyn is a con woman. Marcus has something that Evelyn wants and she will get it anyway she can even is she has to sleep with Marcus to get it. Once she gets it she needs protection and the only one who can protect her is Marcus. There is a strong attraction between them. This book has violence, twists and turns, highs and lows, passion, Mafia, suspense, drama. I definitely recommend this book.
I like my stories dark and this one is lightly dark. More than enough to grab and hold my attention. The FMC is strong but not over the top as many authors mistakenly do. I liked Monster (Marcus) and Evelyn. Their insta love was somewhat believable but their personalities is what I enjoyed most in this book. Dark but not too dark, plausible (maybe), and throughly enjoyable. I had planned on stopping at this book in the series because the plot is so predictable but I admit that I can't. I purchased "Trouble",and starting it now.
If you love dark mafia, Alpha protector romance with an antihero who is terrified of his inner demons this one is for you! Excellent fast-paced story, super spicy but not too crazy, and excellent performances that are really powerful by both narrators! Rachel Knight is new to me, but I will definitely listen to her again. I am narrator motivated and picked this book because of Shane East, a powerhouse performer who always delivers!
Oh man. It was a 5 star up until the last 10%. I wish this book was written slightly different at the ending but I’m happy of the outcome. I still enjoyed the shit out of this book, more than the first one.
I also want to say, that I’m imagining Thomas Shelby as Marcus from the Peaky Blinders. Oof. He’s my fav.
Well Evelyn and Marcus just wow! She’s the only one who can soothe his monster and their connection is hot. This is full on action with all the violence and angst you’d expect from a crime family but it’s also about love and family issues. Nora Ash certainly can write stories that keep you turning pages and wanting more at the end. Must read.
I bought the series after reading Blain and Mira's story, I'm so glad I did. This story line was fantastic, I was excited too see behind the monsters vail. And to have the reward at the end, but to have to leave his brother's ......... *Sighs*
Evelyn and Marcus are a match made in the dark that comes to the light. A monster and a con artist, but they are match made in the he'll of their circumstances and how they can see past the bad to get to the good they see in each other!
Marcus and Evelyn weren't looking for love but they had hope. Unfortunately, the sour feeling they share towards society comes from abuse. They are explosive together. If you're not for them then you're against them. They don't take threats lightly.
The plot would have been great. But, the whole story moved really fast. So fast that it was completely unbelievable. Marcus falling in love, asking for a baby right off. It was just weird. Did not enjoy this book at all.
I love how well written the characters are, you really feel you know them. The story line is good. She carry a part of the story from one book to another but it's not a cliffhanger. You get your hea , it's just very well done.
I was interested in Marcus’ story the first time he was introduced. I was hooked at psychopath and dead eyes. His own brothers were a leery of him. Evelyn is a great balance and I liked how she saw past what everyone else saw.
I love this series for sure. I put off reading this one because I wasn't too sure about Marcus, but man... the writer makes him so relatable. He comes off as gruff and detached in the previous book, but still protective. In this sequel, omg.. I love him.
