If discipline flips your switch, this'll light you up

Rescuing Regina is Lee Savino's novella-length entry in the erotic BDSM fantasy genre. I'll be honest - this level of D/s interaction is not my kink, but fans of spanking, restraint and humiliation as foreplay will be in ecstasy as town Sheriff and Dom Cole stages his own personal intervention in the downward spiral of Regina's life. She's been trailer park trash to everyone in town - but him - and he's gonna teach her what she's REALLY worth if he has to tie her up to make her listen... Regina is in such pain from her own self-loathing that Cole's discipline feels good in comparison, so she's more than willing. Fine writing and flawless editing, characters whose emotions and behavior drive the plot, and HEA make this a good read. If you aren't into fairly serious BDSM/erotica, this one isn't for you, but if the kink fits, you'll adore Rescuing Regina. My thanks to the author for the ARC, and this voluntary review is my own opinion.

Regina has always felt like she didn't belong. She was the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. So when she was able to go to college she took it and ran. But in her sophomore year she had to return due to her mother falling ill. She never ask people for help because of where she came from. Nobody wanted to help white trash. But then the sheriff came.
Cole Townsend likes being in control. He has always been that way. So when he sees the only girl he has ever loved trying to steal from her old boss he gives her two options. Go to jail or submit to him.
Will he be able to save her from herself? Will he be able to show her his true controling side?
I will be recommending this book to family and friends.

Sheriff Cole has spent his life waiting for his dream women. His dream women is from the wrong side of the track and headed down the wrong road. Regina has zero confidence but a kind heart. An okay story just did not pull at my emotions.

Rescuing Regina is a fabulous mixture of comedy, darkness, BDSM and romance.
Regina is sassy, headstrong, and at the heart of her, wonderfully soft and lacking in self-worth, despite every front she puts on to the contrary. She takes great delight in pushing buttons, commits crime not for herself but for others, and feels remorse for her actions.
Cole is strict, caring and I'm pretty sure I'd be amenable to committing several criminal acts in order to attract his...attention. He doesn't put up with Regina's antics and is swift with spankings. Lots and lots of spankings :P
This was a quick read for me, just under an hour, and an absolute pageturner. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes spanking stories, BDSM elements or just a damned good sexy story.

I received this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review and was delighted when I read this well written domestic discipline romance. Cole Townsend and Regina met at Sunday school when they were younger. From their first meeting each of them cared about the other one but neither ever said a word to anyone about these feelings. Cole was from a more affluent part of town while Regina lived in the trailer park in "the wrong side of town." When she had the chance to get out of Licking Hole she leaves.
Just as she is moving forward with has her education she is called home from college to take care of her sick mother and finds herself in a hole she can't get out off. Just as she is committing a crime, into her life came Sheriff Cole Townsend, again. Facing the choice of jail or doing as Cole says, her life is about to change in ways she never thought possible. Cole is a dominant man who likes control and controlling Regina is top on his list at this point. His feelings for her have only grown over the years but now he needs to see if she can live the lifestyle he desires. Regina is now challenged as she desires to please Cole but has to adjust to serving him, following his rules and balancing that with who she always been but who she also desires to be.
While I found the domestic discipline theme, I also seemed to see more of a master/slave type relationship than a dominant/submissive theme. I highly recommend this wonderful story that includes love, lust, control, punishments, spankings, sex, and so much more.

Rescuing Regina is spicy erotica with D/s and domestic spankings, so be warned ahead of time if this is not your cup of tea. It's not really mine most of the time, but Rescuing Regina is well written and Cole and Regina are an interesting couple.

Regina is from the wrong side of town and she knows it. Cole is the steady town sheriff who's watched over Regina since she was 6 and he was 12. When he finds her trying to break into her former employer's office, he knows he has to do something about her downward spiral. So he takes her back to his place for a little domestic instruction on what happens to bad girls who disobey the sheriff. But don't let this fool you into thinking it's some fluffy BDSM thing, because there are deeper things going on than just a little bad girl flogging. No, Cole has darker desires and he needs to know if Regina can handle them before he claims her completely.

I mostly enjoyed Rescuing Regina. I'll admit that hard core BDSM and/or domestic punishment is not my thing, but it's so well written here, and the two characters are well fleshed out and interesting, so I was able to get into it. It's definitely erotica, but it's got a story, too, so it's not fluffy, kinky cheesiness.

This was an interesting book for me and a tough review. Really a 2 1/2, so do you round up or down?? Cole and Regina are opposites in most ways. He is the good guy, sheriff, raised on the right side of the tracks, she is the bad girl, lawbreaker, from the trailer park. Cole decides to rescue her from herself and this is where i start having a tough time with this book. At times, this did not feel Dom and sub, but too Master and slave and not in a good way I get the different types of relationships and certainly the levels, but I didn't feel they were partners at all and that was off putting. I love Lee Savino and am a huge fan, but this one....not so much

Cole was definitely dominant. Regina grew into the submissive role. I got the sense that she didn't realize she was submissive at first. She was so busy taking care of her mother and everything else, Cole felt he he needed to step in and take care of Regina. I thought Cole blew a little hot and cold, but they have had feelings for each other long before they became adults.

A little role play, several spankings, a lot of love, and an HEA. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fascinating and intriguing book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page til the end. What you will find in this book is: drama, intrigue, humor, law enforcement, crime, desperation, discipline, domination/submission, punishment, control, lust, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and is exceptionally well written. The characters are well developed with personalities and have feelings of fear, lust, needs and desires. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a good well-written romance you will not be disappointed.

I've just recently started reading Lee Savino's books and love her writing style and her particular kink. I love the characters and the interaction between them. This story really touched my heart with Regina's poor self image and Cole's disregard for what her life was really like in their little town. I read this book as an ARC for the author and would highly recommend this book to anyone into light to medium BDSM play.

I loved absolutely everything about this book. Regina thinks of herself as a delinquent even as a child until Mr. hot and sexy Cole the local sheriff steps in and takes on all control of Reginas life. The characters are written perfectly and I loved the story line but most of all I had myself laughing out loud at Regina's comments she had a great sense of humor that I enjoyed and what Cole did to punish her mouth just brilliant. Great story of two people just waiting for their right time for their life to start and mean something.

*I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.*

Despite having read the description for this book before reading it, I was a little bit put off in the beginning by the dub-con spanking scene in the opening pages. It is obvious from each character’s actions, despite the story being told from Regina’s POV, that both have had a strong attraction to the other for a long time, a bond started (completely platonically) when they were both minors. But Cole was “Mr. Perfect” in nearly every way–the perfect student, the perfect citizen, the perfect cop–he was rarely seen with a wrinkle in his uniform or even a hair out of place. Regina, on the other hand, was “trailer trash”–born on the “wrong side of the tracks”, down-labelled with all the other “delinquents” that are to be found in the poorer part of town. Tarnished from birth, she believed, right to the end, despite evidence to the contrary, that Cole was “too good” for her. But, there again, everything in life was “too good” for her, from the possibility of getting a degree, to her job, to her neighbours. She believed that she belonged with the “trash”. Until Cole comes along, after waiting so long for her, to finally set her straight. It appears that Cole isn’t quite as perfect as he seems–he has needs, and Regina is who he wants to fulfil them.

Despite initial impressions, and despite his commented inexperience, Cole is actually the perfect Dom–controlling, yet caring, and allowing Regina herself to decide if she not only can but truly wishes to fulfil his desires. He sees right through Regina, sees her weaknesses, and helps her become stronger and believe in herself using his strict discipline. Once she warms up to it, her true personality begins to shine. Both characters are well written and jump alive on the page.

For me, I warmed up to the story and the characters by the end. This is truly a story where persistence pays off. The Sheriff part, I watch enough US cop shows to sort of understand how they work. But, there were too many “Americanisms”, specifically US slang, thrown around in here, that it was at times hard for me to understand–thank the gods for the pre-loaded dictionary on the Kindle, as I had to look a couple of the words up (for me, WASP is a band, so it made no sense at all in the context at first). Other parts I could understand–“trailer trash” has a UK equivalent, of sorts, in the caravan parks that house gypsy and traveller families. But there are also those that come from the housing estates and other poor areas that are looked down on, too. You grow up on the “wrong side of the tracks” as they say, and you can be tarnished with those “stupid”, “worthless”, and “nobody” brushes for a lifetime. Things were improving in the UK, with more children from poorer areas going to good schools and even university, but it generally depends on the government who’s in charge (the current elected government have only brought negative change in this area).

Anyway, once I got over the initial feeling of awkwardness, then the language usage, there was actually a pretty decent story in here. Even if domestic discipline isn’t your thing, if you can get past this, there is a brilliant romance to be found inside these pages. Cole truly is an honourable character after all.

Final rating: ★★★★☆ – Really liked

Interesting dynamic and storyline of a responsible young man that grew up to be sheriff & the girl he has always watched over

This story is about Cole and Regina, who grew up in a small town called Licking Hole. They met when she went to Sunday school with a neighbor from the trailer park. At the time Regina was 6 and Cole was 12, and she was ... precocious, so the Sunday school teacher asked Cole to sit with her and help watch over her. Needless to say he had his hands full, but it set a pattern that continued until he was 18 and some neighborhood boys were crowding her and giving her a little too much attention because she had developed large breasts at an early age. Right after that he started with the police academy, got a job in Licking Hole, and worked his way to being elected Sheriff at 28.

Then when Regina graduated she left for college, only to be called back her sophomore year to take care of her Mom. Her mom has dementia / Alzheimers and requires onsite nursing.
Unfortunately she is drowning in debt due to the medical bills, so she embezzled from her employer that she had worked for since she was 16, and lost her job. Later that night the Sheriff, Cole, catches her trying to climb a fence at her now former employers property, while drunk, high and riding with a less than reputable guy known for dealing. As soon as the Sheriff pulled up and flashed his lights, the guy took off, leaving Regina on her own. But instead of arresting her, he gives her another option if she is willing to take it.

I am going to stop there so I don't accidentally provide any spoilers or twists.

This story contains bondage, spanking, dress up, etc. in a consensual relationship, even though it may not appear that way in the beginning. It also has adult language and erotic intimate scenes. If any of these are triggers for you, then this may not be the book for you.

I volunteered to leave a honest review of an ARC from the author and Booksprout.

The sheriff has been in love w/ Regina since he was 12. She was too young. Then when he turned 18 she was still a underage. When Regina turned of age Cole was running & became the sheriff. That is when Cole wanted her to make something of herself outside of Licking Hole Trailer Park. Regina had to quit college in her Sophomore year to come back to their home town of Licking Hole to take care of her Mom. Where Regina now founds herself in dire straits because she has now embezzled is drunk, high& attempting to rob the junk yard where she just got fired. From the only man who thought she was worth something & gave her a job. Regina only has two options. Go to jail & face prison time. Or follow Sherriff Cole’s rules & submiss to him. If she wants a get out of jail free card by the owner & himself.
What is worse for Regina? Going to jail or face her humiliation by being a submissive to the man she has had a crush on her whole life.
Cole is determined to have Regina come to her senses & realize that she is better than what she has become. In the process make her his DOM & keep her his. He has waited his whole life to be with this woman. Physically, & emotionally. Regina cannot believe that the 28-year-old Sherriff is a virgin. Let alone stayed that way for the one he wanted to marry. Regina knows she cannot be that special someone. But while she lives in his home & he takes care of her bills, mom etc. She would like to think that she can be his special ONE event temporarily. Though, Cole refuses to sleep with her. AT least not yet…. How much temptation can a virile man take without giving into his needs.
Will Cole get what he wants in the long run? Have Regina as his submissive forever. Will she realize that Cole has only waited for her. That she has always been his.
Read their strange relationship of obsession, lust, vulnerability & support.
Can Regina & Cole get a happily ever after?

Phenomenal novella! Sensuous, stunning and heartwarming. Buy this one!!
In her usual eloquent aplomb and delightful description, Lee Savino presents her readers with an epic novella in her latest release, “RESCUING REGINA.” While this reader found the female lead character Regina to be not only strong but resilient in the face of a plethora hard luck in life, I totally fell in love with Cole and his willingness to fight for Regina when life seemed to have beaten her completely. There are some BDSM-like activities, so no one under the age of 18 need apply, but for those of age or older “RESCUING REGINA” is well worth the price of admission! It is entertaining, inspiring in its ability to illustrate the healing power of love, and a wonderful example of the exceptional writing ability of its author, Lee Savino. No matter what the trope, romances written by Lee Savino are character centered and in the case of “RESCUING REGINA,” feel longer than the pages represented because of the author’s skill to not only develop complex characters but also her ability to express the nuances of the relationships and situations in a way which allows her readers to appreciate a depth to those characters normally only found in a full-length novel. While I voluntarily read “RESCUING REGINA” and this is my honest, voluntary review, “RESCUING REGINA” is going into the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle to be reread whenever I want to feel good. Four stars because it is a GREAT novella, and another ½ STAR because “RESCUING REGINA” is an exceptional, character-centered story! Purchase your copy of “RESCUING REGINA” today! Happy pages! 😉

Hot, hot story with a heart of gold! Regina just can't catch a break, and desperate for money to help her ailing mom she resorts to stealing from her boss. Sheriff Cole, who's been watching out for her for sixteen years, picks her up mid-crime and takes her home, giving her a clear ultimatum: his house or prison. I actually laughed out loud when she, realizing the nature of his demand for her obedience, asks if "prison" is her safeword!

Thus begins a beautiful battle of wills as Cole seeks to provide Regina with everything she needs, including a new respect for herself, while Regina falls back on her snarky rebel persona because she can't accept that she deserves any better. The push/pull of Regina's heart battling with her pride is written to perfection, and Cole oh-so-slowly reveals his heart to her in a way that is simply breathtaking.

This story would not have worked as well without the characters' long history with each other. The author gradually, carefully, exquisitely, details the events over time that have made these two absolutely destined to be together. This author is always a one-click read for me, but this book is my favorite - not just my favorite by this author, but also in this genre and quite possibly one of my all-time favorites. If you like your leading men just a little bit too dominant and your leading ladies just a little too sassy, it doesn't get any better than this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Regina hears a police siren and she knows she's in big trouble because this time she's trespassed and broken the law. Last time it was when she mouthed off at Sunday school. Both times she was rescued by Cole. Once Sheriff Cole Townsend exits his police car, Regina is comforted by the fact that it is he who is there. All six feet of lean muscle, broad shoulders with blond hair and hazel eyes. Looking up at Cole, Regina is in love all over again.

Having smoked some weed and drank too many shots, she thinks the situation is funny. "You can handcuff me anytime you like. I'll get you off, if you get me off." The Sheriff is not pleased that she's offering sexual favors so he will go easy on her. He decides to use his own form of punishment instead of taking her to jail. Cole finds that she enjoys his interrogation skills and she's also liking his version of good cop/bad cop.

Instead of arresting her, he wants her to submit to his form of discipline. "I'm in control. I make the decisions. You comply. And whether your good, or naughty, you are mine." And so Regina complies.

I loved this short story! Ms. Savino is an expert at writing engaging, witty, sexy couples that I fall in love with. I never want to put any one of her books down once I start and I re-read them many times. From the very first page to the last I am lost in her novels. She knows just how to blend drama, humor and sex. Always a amazing love story with just the right amount of kink.

I usually enjoy this author's books and I'm surprised I didn't like this one as much. Cole is the sheriff and Regina is a trouble-maker. They've known each other a long time. Her heart is in the right place but she doesn't have much choice other than stealing after losing her job and needing money to care for her mother. After catching her, Cole gives her the choice of either jail or being his sub. That doesn't seem like much of a choice and I don't really consider her agreement as consensual. She quickly learns that his intention is to treat her as his slave. She will cook and clean and basically do whatever he wants which includes frequent punishments.

This all feels very one-sided. Although he calls her his, he never even implies that he has any feelings for her. She's left in doubt to fret and worry while he just seems oblivious to her emotional needs. She needs cuddles and assurances and instead he gives her chores. I get the master/slave dynamic and enjoy it when that's what I think both characters want. In this case, Regina doesn't need a master. She needs a dom first and maybe eventually a master when she feels like she has a real choice, not just obey or jail.

I've loved other books by this author, however this one is only 2.5 stars.

I love Lee Savino’s books her Berserker series and now this one is even better. Regina was a girl brought up in the bad part of town in a trailer all of her life, she leaves town but has to come back because of her mother’s illness. Cole was brought up in a nice house and had the love of his parents and now he is the sheriff for the town. Regina gets in with a bad crowd and tries to steal from her ex bosses but Cole intervenes and saves Regina from going to jail but he has his own kind of punishment for her. Cole has been looking out for Regina since he was 12 and she was 6, with the punishments Cole breaks her down for the person that she is and builds her into a better person. The chemistry between Cole and Regina is sizzling hot, I loved the storyline and the characters and in my opinion this is one fantastic read and if your a lover of Lee’s books then you will be missing out if you don’t read this book. I definitely recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 starsRomance with Spice

Regina was a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, fighting her whole life for respect and to be treated fairly. Cole was the town Sheriff and son of well respected parents, certainly not the sort of man who would want anything to do with a misfit like Regina, or so she thought. Determined to change the way she thought about herself, Cole claimed her and with his dominating ways forced her to accept his love. This story was so "hot", a beautiful, wilful, woman who fell in love with a man who could tame her wild ways with lots of spankings and domination tempered erotic lovemaking. The perfect conbination for a reader who wants her romance with a little spice.

This is a quick story about a couple who first met when he was 12 and she was 6. Since that time, Cole has been keeping an eye out for Regina as they’ve both grown older. Now at 22 and in trouble with the law – a.k.a. Cole, the local sheriff, Regina can’t quite believe the offer she’s been given. Submit to Cole and his particular brand of kink – domestic discipline, or go to jail for theft and trespassing. I enjoyed this couple and Cole’s certainty that Regina was the one for him despite their social and economic differences in the small town. There’s plenty of snarky banter, some laughs, a bit of drama and a slow burning romance along with quite a lot of spanking. I enjoyed the story but felt that the degree of discipline was a bit heavy-handed at times – no pun intended!

If you like a lot of spanking in your books then this should be on your list.
It as a good story, just not really my cup of tea.
Regina is the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She left town for school only to come back to take care of her sick Mom. She ends up needing extra cash for bills, etc after losing her job. She is found trying to steal from her former employer by none other than the Golden Boy Sheriff who happens to be secretly into her. Instead of taking her to jail he offers her another form of punishment. Be my maid oh and wear this kinky little maid costume and let me spank you when I think you need it.
I don't maybe I'm biased because of how much I love her Berserkers series, however the book is good and worth the read.

Coming from the wrong side of town, bad girl, Regina got caught braking into her former employers business, with Benny, a drug dealer. Sheriff Cole saw Regina aiming the fence and Benny driving away, leaving her to face Cole on her own. Now Cole has taking control of Reginacby giving her an ultimatum, take her to jail for braking, entering, robbery and have her ex-boss press charges for stealing, or submit to Cole for discipline. With her decision made, Regina life is about to change.
This is a love story that started when Regina, was 6 and Cole was 12, and now Cole can do something to help Regina. But what Regina didn't know she was help Cole in return.

Regina has no self control and has always been making poor choices or so Sheriff Cole believes. If only she would do as he says, everything would be fine. Better than fine and they could both be happy. I really enjoyed (and frequently laughed) at Regina’s efforts to resist Cole’s “guidance” and instruction. Ms. Savino has written other books that take place in other times and/or places, now here we are in a modern day small town where submitting completely to another may seem strange. Ms. Savino ensures that we know no one else’s opinion matters and their lives are their own. Remember - safe, sane & consensual

Since she was 6 years old, Cole has played a role in Regina's life. Raised on the wrong side of the tracks, she dreamed of escaping the small town mentality. Unforeseen circumstances cause her to return home and subsequently, Sheriff Cole returns to her life. Caught in the middle of a crime, she has little option but to listen and obey the Sheriff. Cole's feelings for her run deep - he sees who Regina longs to be and sets out to bring her to herself through a punishment rich with spankings and humiliation and ultimately, complete submission.

Quick, easy read. Well written.

Warning: Book contains sexy spankings, ball gags and other methods of correction.

Feisty Regina is headed down a bad path, and Cole is just the man to take a strong hold and set her on a better path. Years of teasing and being made fun of Regina has a tough girl exterior. Inside she is lonely. Cole is her breathe of fresh air. He is what she needs however, will she allow him to come into her inner self and find true love? Their chemistry and behavior has me in stitches. I love the way Cole tells her how bad she is acting and how he is going to discipline her. Lee Savino does a great job of developing these characters and building up the story. I enjoy all of her work.
