Sakamoto Shin'ichi (坂本眞一) is a Japanese mangaka. He is mostly famous for his series Innocent and Innocent Rouge. He is currently working on #DRCL midnight children based on the classic by Bram Stoker.
I am sadden by the tragic end of a favorite character in this volume. Such a great person and it was a huge loss to everyone. In this volume, 2 years has passed since that incident caused by Mori's inexperience and recklessness at solo climbing. He's is still as determine as ever to become a climber and just as insistent at doing it alone. Mori can be as stubborn as a mule, once he has set his sight on a goal no one could stop him. I am impressed with his relentless drive and passion in achieving his dream.
I've continue to get more insights on mountaineering and was utterly amaze by the cost incurred. Even a solo expedition was exorbitant. In these chapters Mori met a new face and two other old acquaintances. Two of them had spurred his drive for mountaineering to newer heights, while one other was a bad omen and a distraction fatal to Mori's goal.
Loved everything about this except the one female character being the absolute worst? Not like there were many girls or women in this series anyways, but dang really you gotta go that route? Mori seems really on his own and determined, but now he's got money problems and the like. No matter how much you train, if you can't afford to go to a mountain how are you supposed to climb it? I enjoy watching him grapple with this, but I am curious how 'push everyone else away' is going to be the point of this series.
This, is where the story actually begins, when the artist picks up the story. I don't know what the intended vision was for the previous writer, but what I do know is that what the artist had done with the story is beautiful. I'll post one more review on the last volume however, that one will have spoilers.
Okay what they wrote about Yumi in tome 2 was true she is a slut 😭 but omg the development here is so wonderful I literally got goosebumps when they talked about K2 seriously a dream to climb the east side honestly reminiscing about giving this a 3/5 but the development so good here I have to leave it at 4/5
I have been waiting for the next omnibus since I finished the second one! I love Mori and watching him try new things while still dedicating himself to climbing is such a great feat. Poor Mori...he is still traumatized
Is it commitment or stubbornness with mountains at this point, Mori?
I can’t believe Oonishi-sensei died.
This volume was really good. Mori is LOCKED IN to climb the most difficult mountain in the world. I really admire his determination. This is exactly why I picked up this series

Сцена з ГГ в дощовику нагадує римського бога одужання Телесфора. Навряд би в мене виникла ця асоціація, якщо б я паралельно не читав Юнґа. Вкінці є натяк на цікавий конфлікт.
Man, I was not expecting for this to be quite so depressing. However, I am a masochist and love depressing things. So we have no fastforwarded two years into the future. Mori is now wanting to attempt climbing the K2 East front, and that screams danger and possibly more depression. Sign me up!
