At the end of episode 6 Alex had pushed things too far... The couple head to a cabin in the country for a weekend of reflection. Will Alex’s plan get them past this huge bump in the road or is it finally a dead end for the couple?
As you probably guessed, it all worked out okay, sort of... On a family vacation Kaylee and Alexis’ relationship faces criticism from none other than Brad, Alexis’ brother, giving rise to disturbing questions from Ryan. Then a bigger threat surges as Kaylee and Alex are outted to the office. One of her colleagues stopped her in her tracks. “Kaylee, just so you’re aware, there are rumors flying around. Someone said you only got the promotion because you’re dating Alexis.”
After several rough patches in her relationship and facing her demons, Kaylee is ready to move on to her “happily ever after.”
But life has other ideas… Moving in together is not as easy as Kaylee dreamed. Not when Alex finds adjusting to living with a six-year-old difficult and not when her mother keeps pretending she and Alex are just roommates.
Meanwhile Kaylee delves deeper into the carnal world of kink, allowing herself to be pushed beyond her limits.
With so much going on, it’s no wonder someone calls “red.” Will Kaylee ever get her fairy tale ending or is this truly, finally the end?
"Branding Her: Episodes 7-13: Lesbian Romance Series, Bundle 2" (2016) by Alex B. Porter is scintillating fiction that continues the lesbian romance story between the more dominant Alex and the younger, less experienced single mother Kaylee. Although containing numerous sex scenes, the novel actually features several interesting plot elements outside of the bedroom. Kaylee’s son’s whining grated on me slightly. Roxanne Hill’s narration is flawless. Highly recommended.
First two episodes dragged a bit, after that things got better ---- 3 stars
kaylee and Alex take off from where the last episode ended. Things are a bit tense after Alex took things to far and the both of them have to adjust to this unwelcome reality. After that our two main characters explore more of their history and how they became who they are now, and build further on this shared trust.
The flashback sections didn't do it for me. They were just a bit to much of a downer story thread, for this largely upbeat story. After his was out of the way things got back on track and both te pace and my enjoyment made a leap forward. Kaylee and Alex still make a good couple. The non-romance sub-plotlines also got a boost, adding a good background to their relationship while not detracting from it.
Overall not a good as the previous six episodes, but after the dip at the start things got back on track and end with a satisfying ending.
This is the well written second collection of the "BRANDING HER" books, the continuing tale of Alex and Kaylee. It sizzles as hot or hotter than the first collection. Coming from very different backgrounds, with very differing experiences, these two women embark upon a life together, raising Kaylee's son, juggling work and home life. The storyline flows along easily and the sex sizzles. Put this book on your must read list.
