Dwayne didn't fail to surprise me with this book either. Til It's Gone is another great story by Dwayne S. Joseph. More so than most authors, Joseph has a way of creating characters that suck you right into their lives. I think the last time I was so involved with a characters life like I was with Danita's was with Winter Santiaga. And everyone knows what a legend that book is. This author creates characters in the same way, in that you just can't get enough. I could barely put the book down to take care of my day to day activites because I just had to see what happened next.
One thing I absolutely LOVED about Til It's Gone is the ending. So many times a "happy" ending is thrown into a story where it doesn't belong. I know a lot of readers want that but I don't. I want whatever ending goes with the story. This wasn't technically a "unhappy" ending but a different author could have turned it around and made it real cheesy which Jospeh thankfully did not. The ending actually took my breath away- I was that surprised.
I keep looking more and more forward to reading everything by this author and I would and do recommend him to just about anyone- especially anyone that loves a really good urban story.

As usual, I was not disappointed by Dwayne Joseph's writing. He has a great way of really making the characters come alive. I also like how he uses brand names to describe what he is talking about, such as page 8 where he describes Danita as wearing Victoria's Secret Very Sexy for her perfum. I happen to wear that too. He always goes in to detail as far as what clothes people are wearing the brands of cars, etc. It really makes everything come alive.

If I was Danita, I probably would have thought the same thing she did at first, but she shouldn't have gone and did what she thought Stephen did. What happened though from the whole incident was really a blessing in disguise for Stephen.

I have to say that the ending gave me chills when Stephen saw the man leaning against the wall.
