Shifting Impulse #4

Bearly Furgotten

Rate this book
Shifting Impulse is a club where shifters who don’t believe in fated mates find theirs. Nine years ago was Devin and Leon’s chance.

Thirty-year-old Devin Bennet, successful jeweler, adventurous hiker and single mother to a six-year-old hyperactive boy, takes her son to a survival camp on the other side of the country, expecting a relaxing, uneventful holiday.

Leon Whitman, bear shifter with a dying bear inside, adventurous explorer and mountain resort owner and manager, struggles with the guilt of losing his mate in a white-water rafting accident. Making the resort eco-friendly is Leon’s only interest and that leaves no time for his personal life.

That accident left Devin with no memory of the man she has a child with and Leon with nothing but his family business to live for. After being separated for seven years, will they be able to make their relationship work?

This is the 4th book in the Shifting Impulse series and it is a standalone with NO cliffhangers and a "happily ever after". It contains explicit language and sizzling hot scenes that might set your Kindle on fire. Intended for readers 18+.

Mmm... A bear shifter book! 💞

I have reality gotten hooked on these shifter books. Especially the bears. There is just something about the thought of a big, strong man who is both capable and willing to be there for you.

I really loved this story Ms. Aurora has created from her imagination. It goes without saying her characters are magnificent together. All this makes her story of the SI phenomenal. Can't wait for her Book 5 Christmas at Shifting Impulse.
Devin Bennet had a nightmare for the last seven years every time she had them they were always the same the water, drowning it was terrible, she wake up and couldn't go back to sleep sometimes it affected her son her beautiful baby boy Leo. Devin was in an accident and lost her memory 2 yrs was blank to her. That was seven years ago and every time she looked at Leo she just knew he was created with love. He was all she had, they spent every day playing with lots of love. What was she going to do for the next two weeks, Leo was going on trip taking a plane to a town called Eldenpath then a camp bus was going to pick him up and take him to the summer camp called Surviving Adventure. The Outdoors Center was a kind of isolated resort in the heart of North Bloom Lake National Park. Devin had rented a cabin for two weeks at the end of his month, so Leo and her could hike and play.
Leon Whitman is a Bear Shifter living the life of half a man. Seven years ago he lost his mate he buried her but she didn't smell right so he didn't think it was her, he just knew she was alive so he searched for her and search. Many years went by and he kept looking, he also built a family resort and camp for kids but he still kept looking he just knew she was alive, everyone his brother included just told him to let her go, so he told them to mind there own business. One day watching some of the kids, he started shaking he couldn't believe it, how is this possible? A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Bearly Furgotten:
A BBW Bear-Shifter and Secret Baby Romance Shifting Impulse Book 4
by Aurora Woodlove
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW! This is a Fantastic storyline, again this is another exciting and refreshing story, it has a great pace and the words flow well together. I have to tell you I read this book until I finished it, I could not put it down. Aurora Woodlove has a creative ability to build worlds with awesome characters that is fantastic entertainment. The scenes will seem so real to you. I wasn't disappointed when I read this book. The secondary characters are a wonderful read. I love that there is a part where I needed a few Kleenex and afterward I laughed and smiled at most of it. You will enjoy reading this book, but I loved reading this book! The characters were so rich and beautiful! Devin is a shy BBW who is independent, strong and she had a accident then she loss her memory and she has a son. Leon is a sexy gorgeous bear shifter who owns a resort camp and he has lost his mate in a accident, but he doesn't believe she is dead. Devin sends her son to camp hoping to get help with him because he is more active than most his age. Leon and Devin has so much chemistry that my tablet got hot.

Another excellent story by Aurora Woodlove. This is a awesome read l loved this book it has great chemistry between the main characters and the sparks fly in this awesome book. My requirements for shifter stories are simple. Give me a faithful, protective, and sexy shifter who finds their fated mate for a HEA and I will follow you anywhere. This story far exceeds my simple needs. I excited to read the next book in the series because I know that it will be exciting and so heartwarming. If you like to read a book about the unusual, then this is one.

If you believe in the world of paranormal romance, the possibilities are endless and fascinating!

Title: BEARLY FURGOTTEN
Series: Shifting Impulses #4
Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused
Received from: Aurora Woodlove (as an ARC gifted copy)

This is the fourth book in the Shifting Impulses series. Though each book does stand alone, there are cross-over characters whose stories continue to evolve. I would definitely recommend reading the entire series and in the order of release.

I have loved this series so far and I am looking forward to reading much, much more from Aurora Woodlove. She has created a shifter world that allows me to drift away from the dismal realities that life sometimes brings. Unfortunately, this particular book felt incomplete at the end. I know that we will be updated in future books and I’m sure the HEA is coming, but in this book it felt more like a happy-for-now. Without giving away the story, I can only say that it seemed that Devin never allowed herself to fully embrace all that was being offered.

Okay, that’s the ugly. The beautiful of this book is that it is a second chance romance. It is definitely a story different from the others in this series (and unique among the genre). I loved Leon so much that I wanted to throat punch Devin for holding back for even a minute! He is so in love with her from page one to the end that I was aching for all that he had to hold back. I want their HEA so badly.

My final note: do not miss this series. Join me in the angst of waiting for the next installment. Aurora Woodlove makes it all worth the wait.

I'm generally not a fan of amnesia stories, but I totally enjoyed this one. It was a genuinely sweet story.

I really liked the main character Leon and felt so sad for him as he dealt with the loss of his mate. There were moments when I thought he was too long-suffering and a little too believing on the amnesia story. How many husbands/boyfriends would just accept it? Still...he never stopped loving his mate even when he thought she was dead.

I also liked our female main character, Devin, for the most part. She obviously loved her son and was tormented by the missing 2 years of her life. I did get tired of hearing how hard it was to be a single mother. As a single mother myself it just felt like overkill to hear it over and over. While single parenting is definitely stressful, Devin was blessed in multiple ways for someone with no family and pre-amnesia friends to support her.

I absolutely and completely loved little Leo. Kids are easy to love, but that kid was freaking adorable. I especially loved how he orchestrated the meeting between his mom and Leon. He's a precocious little devil. *lol*

It was nice to see some of the characters from the earlier stories pop up, especially Janet.

How is the author's writing? Good
Is there violence? No Violence
Is there sexual content? Yes
How is the story narrated? Third person
How would you describe the pace? Fast
How would you describe the characters? Developed

Disclosure: I received a free copy of the book.

Devin was in a white water accident and remembers her life 2 years before, nothing until after she wakes up in the hospital. Then she finds out she’s pregnant, of course doesn’t know who the father is. Seven years later her son, Leo, Mr. Energizer Bunny, is bouncing off the walls. She finds a kids Survivor’s Camp where he’ll be challenged and kept busy on a daily basis. Hikes, which he and Devin go on every weekend, will be daily. It’s all good, it’s for a month, she’ll join him in two weeks.
Leon is a bear shifter who lost the love of his life seven years ago in a horrific accident. His bear has been getting weaker and weaker without his mate. He’s let his loneliness and severe depression pull him down. Only the bear is waking up, getting agitated and Leon can’t figure out the reason why.
You the reader can check out all the hunky looking mountain men coming into view. Who are they? Join in as a voyeur and see who and what is happening at the Lake & Camp. Watch mischievous Leo. Check out how much trouble he can stir up, he’s only six. And what’s up with his humming in his sleep? Devin can’t figure that one out.
Can Devin ever regain her missing two years and find Leo’s dad? Is there anyone who can help her do it? They always said “Ask and ye shall receive”. Well, you’ll get an eyeful of questions, answers, really? & oh my! Enjoy your ride across the country to the beautiful Lake and all of it’s wonders. It sure kept my attention. Wouldn’t mind coming back for another visit. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Shifting Impulse is a club where shifters who don’t believe in fated mates find theirs. Nine years ago was Devin and Leon’s chance. Devin Bennet is a successful jeweler, adventurous hiker, and single mother to a six-year-old hyperactive boy. She was found by the river seven years ago with no memory of the previous two years. She is raising her son the best she can and decides to take her son to a survival camp on the other side of the country, expecting a relaxing, uneventful holiday. Leon Whitman, bear shifter with a dying bear inside, adventurous explorer and mountain resort owner and manager, struggles with the guilt of losing his mate in a white-water rafting accident seven years ago. The premise of the book is great, and I enjoyed it, but some things bothered me. She is found by the river and does not searching beyond the area or up the river. She is also found 'across the country.' There would have been information put out to the police and pushed out to other departments. Why would she NEVER go up river to look for answers? When she finds a group of people who remember her from those two years, she is not happy or asking for answers. She gets angry and believes they are trying to scam her. Even when one looks exactly like her son.

I was gifted an arc of this book, and decided to review it.

When I first started reading the book, I was afraid that Devin was going to be a widow, and Leon a widower, and then would 'find love again' or something like that. That really bothered me because I can't stress enough how much I do not like stories about widows/widowers. I find them depressing and too sad to really enjoy.

HOWEVER, I was quickly relieved when I found out at the beginning that was not the case for this book. That Leon's 'lost mate' was actually Devin, who just couldn't remember him because she had amnesia from the accident he had thought had killed her. NOW, knowing that, and having the promise of an HEA, I dived right into book and was really able to enjoy it.

Devin and Leon were a great couple, and I liked both of them. It was great seeing them find each other again, and I was very happy to see them get their HEA, and that everything worked out for them. There are still plenty of twists and turns in the story, though, so I suggest reading it for yourself to find out how the two find each other again, and follow their story to their HEA.

Devon Bennet was having the same nightmare over and over for the last seven years. Her drowing. In real life she had lived thought it but lost her memory for 2 years before her almost drowning. Soon after she also found out she was pregnant with her son and named him Leo. No memory of the baby's father ever returned.
Leon lost his mate 7 years on a white water rafting trip. His brother and her along with some friends are running a camp for kids
He is shocked when his bear tells him one of the kids is his and his mother is the mate he thought died. She has no memory of him can he win her back?
Oh what a sad yet sweet love story of love lost then found again after so long. I couldn't put it down. If your into shifters romance with the twist of an emotional roll-a-coaster ride then this is your story. Love the characters in this, their so easy to connect to. A fun read
Voluntary review and I honestly enjoyed it

In book 4 of this amazing series we learn that true love has a fascinating way of pulling us towards it.

Devin has been living 7 years with no memory of them, the only thing that makes the time real is a 6 year old son, who's father she doesn't even remember.

Bear shifter Leon has never been the same since the day the love of his life disappeared 7 years ago. Everyone swears she died that fateful day, but he has never accepted it, his bear won't accept it, never has. His bear is slowly dying, but he won't take another and tarnish the memory of his love. Then one day at his nature camp, his bear starts to wake up and as he walks towards the children his bear starts to hum, when the boy turns towards him, his heart nearly stops when he looks at his face, but Devin's eyes in the boy. His suspicions were always dead on, now he must get her to remember a love that trancended all others.

Wonderful HEA!

Devin and Leon and little Leo's story hit me in "the feels" as my son used to say when he was little and what he felt about something was to big for his vocabulary at the time. Bearly Furgotten is a story of lost love, that's found again, even though Devin never knew it was gone. Leon, thinking Devin dead these last 7 years [ but never truly accepting it.] knew without a doubt once he saw Leo, that he was his father and Devin had to be alive, but why had she left him ? Taken their child , that was conceived in their love from him ? Leo explains so much to both adults. It's truly an "out of the mouth of babes" moment . My only complaint of the story is it seemed to end to abruptly, leaving more questions than answers. 4 ☆'s and I'm impatiently waiting for the next book to get my answers. I received a gifted copy and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

I really love this series and Bearly Furgotten was a great addition.

Everyone believes that 7 years ago, Leon lost his mate in a white water rafting accident - everyone except him anyway. But the more time that goes by, even Leon starts to lost faith that Devon is still out there somewhere. Until she reappears at the rest he built in her memory. With a 7 year old boy who looks exactly like Leon. And no recollection of their time together.

I kept rooting with each chapter for Devon to regain her memories. But the longer she went without remembering, it was still great to see how Leon and Devon fought to find their way back to each other.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of the book and have provided this honest review.

This is a interesting, heartwarming and intriguing book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: drama, intrigue, suspense, bear shifters, a strong independent woman, loss of memory, grief stricken, hope, second chance at love and a family, emotional feelings, lust, love and a mild erotic scene. The story-line and plot is well thought out and is exceptionally well written. The characters are well developed with personalities and have feelings of needs and desires. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a well written Bear Shifter Romance with a HEA.

The story of Leon and Devin is very interesting.
Devin doesn't remember what happened in the two years before being found unconscious and, to her surprise, pregnant, having to start hers life and take care of her little son, Leo.
Leon tried to move on with his life after the loss of Devin, but his inner bear never believed she had really died.
When the destiny bring them together again after seven years, Leon will do everything for Devin to remember the love they shared for each other.
I loved the characters and little Leo, I laughed a lot with him in some parts.

Devon and Leon were mates and very much in love when she had an accident and lost her memory. Everyone told him he should move on and accept she was dead but he never believed his mate was gone. When she sends her child to camp in the area, they have a chance to be together as a family.

I thought it was a sweet love story. Leon was really devoted to his mate and would never give up on getting her back. When he realizes his mate is back, it is a really special moment. They make a great family.

This is a great read, the characters are very like able. I always love the sexy hunky shifter, in this story he (Leon) lost his significant other in a tragic adventure. Devin woke up from a coma with amnesia losing the last two years of her life. Now finds herself pregnant. Moving to the present Devin sends her little man to an adventure camp and not only meets up with her son, but also with one hot shifter. Sparks fly, memories return, between all the twist and turns life throws at these three.

Devin is a single mom to a 6 year old son and she happens to have a big gap in her memory due to an accident. Leon is a bear shifter, who's bear is in danger of dying. He lost his mate years ago but he isn't convinced she is really dead.

These two are drawn back together when her son takes off on a hike all alone after overhearing a private conversation. She can't remember, and Leon doesn't want to push her to far too fast. I enjoyed watching/reading these two find their way back to one another. I have really enjoyed the whole series so far and can't wait to see what comes next!

This is a captivating bear shifter romance with great characters and a fast-paced plot about second chances. I was hooked immediately and was entertained and intrigued until I came to the end. I was so involved with Leon, Devin and Leo that I did not want their story to end. Fans of this genre will love this book. This is my honest review of an advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

I love shifter romances. I love people who lost their memory. But what I love even more is a complete story and this one just did not feel like it. There was so much description and information that I felt there could have been a lot more story actually added, particularly to the ending which just felt to wrapped up and abrupt.

Devin was in an accident and lost two years of her life. When she wakes up she is pregnant. Seven years later she sends her six year old son to a camp. Leon is a bear shifter and has been mourning for his dead? mate for seven years. The fun starts here. Great story and I loved it.

What a nice short. It would be awful to have amnesia then give birth to a baby you have no clue how it got there much less who Baby's daddy is.
Seven years later you send the boy to camp and low and behold there is a man who looks just like your boy.
