It's out there, it's ALWAYS been out there - just no one believed it.
Governments, Black Ops, Rich Businessmen...All want alien tech and some are going to great lengths, illegal lengths, to procure it.
Someone went so far as to endanger a young girls family. A young girl who wrote a letter to the Queen Bitch. Now, those that are searching for the technology will have to deal with TQB.
If there is one thing that will get Bethany Anne's attention?
It's mistreating the defenseless.
Bethany Anne tries to stay out of the world's business, but they just keep doing stupid stuff...
Sucks to be them.
**Please note, as mentioned in a review, there is flagrantly foul language in these novels. The main character does not have a problem with cussing, just uninspired cussing.
So, yet another review of an on going series. BA has honest to god aliens with her now. She defeated them in battle in book 12 and now they are honoured to serve as part of their defeat. Alien politics, who knows.
Do you remember those B-movies about secret laboratories in the arctic? You know the ones where the nazis were experimenting on supposedly alien technology? Well it seems the author has been watching those movies and expanded upon them. No we haven't got reanimated nazis, thank god. But we do have alien technology. So some of the rumours from world war two are correct according to the author.
Guess we will learn more come book 14. Also, why do people have to be so nasty. I guess it's just jealousy. Someone has something you want so you try to get it by any means necessary. But that's what is wrong with the world.
The saga continues. Yes, slightly more out there than at the beginning but still keeping my interest. I guess we are moving to areas that are slightly less believable as we are moving in to space. But, who knows maybe we aren't alone!
Still reading, still enjoying, still reviewing. Try it, you might like it. Be careful, you might become addicted. Enjoy!
Didn't feel like much happened in this book... more of the same, and a bunch of setup for the next books, I think... as a result, the elements of the story that annoy me (swearing/etc) became more glaring without as much plot progression to distract me.
My Ride is a Bitch (The Kurtherian Gambit Book 13) - a review by Rosemary Kenny
I'm sure by now the great Michael Anderle must have written at least 100 books in different series, (alone as well as with other author(s) and the epic Kurtherian Gambit series, of which there are currently 21 or more novels, still keeps getting exponentially better and better, as can be seen in My Ride is a Bitch, #13.The Bitch in question, as if you didn't know already, is The Queen Bitch, Her Majesty Queen Bethany Ann, (to give her her official title). That's also the name of her alien-enhanced Battlecruiser, QBS ArchAngel, that's controlled by an AI of that name. TQB is a sarky-sassy and supreme leader of a team who travel beyond Earth into the Galaxy when necessary, to connect with their alien allies, including Asio and Yuko, whom she meets in Japan at an important meeting she's set upThere are the usual fights and training sessions etc and Tabitha is left in charge 'at home' while BA and the others reconnoiter in Antarctica, with the legendary Terry Henry Walton and his team, to stop enemy aliens, or even domestic powers from accessing the hidden power sources there in an old Nazi base from Earth's World War era. What happens there will shock, amaze and definitely make you want to read everything Kurtherian Gambit-related to read from cover to cover!
Well, I am still enjoying this series, but I couldn’t rate this 5 star as I have most of the others. I didn’t enjoy it quite as much. There were a lot more editing errors than usual (wrong word used, extra words or missing words) and that always knocks me out of the story. The other issue I had I’m not sure if it was an intentional device or not. There would be some action and then the story would backtrack to what happened before the action described in the previous section. This happened a number of times and I just didn’t appreciate it being out of chronological order. It didn’t seem to me to fit. Other readers may not be bothered but it bothered me. I don’t recall previous books in this series using that technique. Notwithstanding my small complaints, I will be reading the next book as I’m caught up in reading about what Bethany Anne gets up to next!
Anderle delivers another fast read. Just as a fyi for Michael, my Mom told me back in the seventies that as a strong woman I would get called a bitch often and to take in stride. She told me to think of it as an an acronym for beautiful, intelligent, talented, charismatic hero. That's Bethany Anne to a t.
Cant get enough the characters and plot are great 21 books for this series cant wait for them i will feal like i am losing friends when i have read them all
My Ride is a Bitch is the thirteenth book in The Kurtherian Gambit series by Michael Anderle.
I’m completely and unequivocally fed up with Earth politics. I mean we deal with it enough irl, so can we get to the space portion of this series yet? All of the hidden cabals and secret societies (which lets face are probably realistic) are just mucking up some good reading. I can’t remember who, from where, is doing what, to overthrow TBQ’s technological superiority. I get confused with all of these overwhelming amount of names for different people in different organizations that are entirely similar and then attack each other? Also who THE FUCK is the spy in TBQ? Because that Intelligence Agent Ho knew way too much for simple intelligence gathering.
Meeting the Voll more thoroughly, from the last book, was fairly intriguing. Their interactions and caste system (while somewhat similar to humans) added a new aspect of the plot to explore. I now need more of this, from multiple species, SO STOP HOLDING OUT ON ME ANDERLE. Gimme the good stuff already.
I wonder if the Thule society will be coming aboard the ArchAngel or the future battle station before Bethany Anne and Co. leave to explore untold galaxies. And did I hear it right that Tabitha, Hirohito, and Ryu will be staying? Maybe it was confuddled is translation.
P. S. I absolutely adore Yuko and Adam’s building friendship. It’s a small part of the story, but it adds such a change in viewpoint compared to how the rest of it skews more towards violence.
TQB hasn't left our solar system yet and they have already met (knowingly or not) four alien groups so far. We meet Terry (TH to my friends) again in this story, along with Richard and Samuel from Australia again. I love all of the characters we as readers keep meeting in these stories, and how characters keep growing in all areas. Bethany Anne and her crew 💙♥️♥️💙 I would love to meet them all!
This episode takes place immediately after the Yollins are captured and begin working with Bethany Anne. The first best part is the trophy wife situation. The second best part is the challenges to figure out where humans belong in the Yollins caste system: Kiel challenges Peter (whom Kiel has never seen in Pricolici form 😁) first, then the Science Officer Royleen and his helper challenges Marcus and his teammate (the scary Kurtherians) both BIG wins for Beth and her crew. More and more good parts keep happening - you gotta read this book!
This book like all the others is excellent and entertaining. But I am sad to say that each successive book is just causing this author's story to become too big. We get less and less "air time" with our main character Bethany Ann and seem to get more and more short stories involving g all of her people.
I enjoy most but I am still trying to figure out where Terry came into play. I have read all 13 stories back to back so far and I know he was in the last one but I just can't figure out how he is known. There are starting to be so many characters you need a list to keep them straight.
There are a couple of moments with Tabitha that you can absolutely skip as it doesn't have any bearing on this book's story. As a character it seems like she isn't living up to the bad ass ideology the other women have in spades; instead she seems like a failure who keeps messing up and is only there to be entertainment for her guards.
Oh well. I guess we shall see what happens... On to the next book.
It was a good read but frankly all the schemes and conspiracies going on are driving me bats. Really! Who is behind which scheme? There's the assault on the families, there's the jungle fiasco, the sandpit ploy, the two scheming men, the various aliens that seem to have landed and made their presence felt and the ones with the attacking POD's. How many different scheme masters are there? I think it boils down to around 4 be it would have been a good idea to have it confirmed. Her making 'friends' with her aliens should prove to be an asset but who does Terry fit into all this? Then there is the loose end of Ashur and the young girl that can understand him. Why has not more been spent on that? It's frankly getting to be a bit too confusing - will give the next a read and see it it starts making sense as at present it's totally frustrating whilst being a great read.
In this book thirteen of the Kurtherian Gambit series, the title really gives the hint to what's happening.
Bethany Anne, while not forwarding her plans to go through the Gate with her people, and confront the King of the Yollo, who had made the first moves in attacking her, is busy helping to rescue a young girl and her family, who are caught up in the same fight as other secret committees - all desperately trying to beg, borrow, or steal the alien tech that Bethany Anne and her people are dealing with.
There are whole Nations in the game, and they'll do anything to get that tech first!
This was a great story, and gives a lot of details as to the amount of planning - and the years it takes - for a spaceship to make a journey into the unknown.
I'm really loving all the details involved, and love how each of the characters that fight on Bethany Anne's side, get what they need by fair means, or foul.
This is such a fun series to read, and I'm loving every minute of it!
I’m not sure how the author is keeping all the story lines he has going straight in his mind…more power to him. I don’t usually enjoy jumping around but this just seems to happen rather effortlessly. There are so many players in the mix now. And they all want what they can’t have. Ha! Take that Earth governments. And cabals. And aliens. I so wish I could see pictures of the pods and the other ships they have built. And the Yollin ship they confiscated. The lengths those in power go to to attempt to have their agendas pushed to attain what they deem they deserve to have. I just have to believe TQB will have the appropriate answer to them and their lackeys. I can’t wait to see what is next for us!
BA and the team's are moving ahead in becoming independent of earth, and earth is jealous. There's a mad scramble by many factions to find and grab any alien technology on earth and they aren't pulling any punches to acquire it. Thankfully BA is there to referee and respond. Even managing to collect some "Nazi popsicles" in the process. But greed is strong motivation and hidden forces are doing their best to vilify our gang as much as possible. In any case, it's only going to get more interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the series and highly recommend it.
I have been a SciFi fan many many many I think I was introduced to my first book in 1982 and have been hooked ever since after literally thousands of books and authors and I got to say this author and the entire series is a true pleasure to read and I say thank you thank you for writing something that isn't following the same old tripe of the earth is defeated and all hope is gone except one lone ship captain and crew must risk it all thank you sir thank you for telling a story that has hope and humor and language that the real military uses
Audiobook review: Book 13 is packed full of action on multiple fronts. A new threat emerges with alien like technology; a discovery of an ancient race; and greedy humans spark action from TQB. Also, it seems TQB may have a leak with some of the information shared with hostiles. My only disappointment is that 7 hours went by way to fast listening to the story and now I have to wait another month for book 14. The narrator did a great job!
Reading straight through and excited about what is coming up. Funny about the poor translations. But I am getting confused with a whole new group coming in and unable to keep the other people in their places , so somewhat guessing at times just to keep up with the story. Putting off reading my brother's new book to keep up with Bethany Anne. That is a fan for you!
Bethany Anne and company keep moving with the goal of space travel. We are introduced to more sneaky groups each with their own agenda complete with wants and wishes. You've heard of Area 51 and now we have to deal with an entity Majestic 12 containing more questions than expected. The world was messed up but getting crazier and confusing at the same time. To be continued.
Bethany Anne has more enemies than she can shake a stick at. In book 13, by Michael Anderle, we get to meet most of them and experience the ways that they underestimate her royal highness Queen Bethany Anne. Expect tech, vamp, were, alien and military action in this one.
BA has started her building ready to leave earth but it is proving difficult as nation and commercial interests try to race for alien technology on earth whilst BA find dealing with Ailens is just as hard. Some interesting new characters and a nice series of possibilities open up with many a sly smile for the jokes.
More adversaries coming and more that has been discovered. I love when the greedy and evil get nothing and then later shown their faults highlighted for all to see. Love all the action and continually am needing to use my brain to figure out what the heck is being talked about lol.
Michaels has come out with a very good read more in the life of Bethany ann e and her expand group , since I first found Michaels books I haven't been able to get enough of them ,the continuation of the story started with death becomes her the more books in this series that comes out seems to get better
ok chewed through last 4 books so reviews are all gonna be together. 14 great finish as they leave earth. 15 meet the aliens and good battles, 16 dealing with politics of aliens no better than humans, 17 expanding more politics new aliens and pirates argh... all and all good books they have a quick pace with lots of funny quips
As with the other books the story moves forwards as you catch up with the crew and advances that are happening. Bethany Anne is still hell bent on protecting the Earth and now with the new aliens she has more fire in her guns and her new ride is indeed amazing! Read on and get ready for book 14
I agree with you about the prices on designer shoes. I end up shopping at places that actually carry my size. If you buy cheaper shoes at say Walmart, they aren't quality and don't last very long. Women tend to take good care of expensive shoes. Try finding size 12 women's shoes for decent prices now that Payless Shoes has disappeared.
Many earthlings want the alien tech Bethany Anne and her crew have, and have convinced themselves they deserve. By fair means or foul. Including endangering children. Which Bethany Anne will not tolerate.
