Edward James Hughes was an English poet, translator, and children's writer. Critics frequently rank him as one of the best poets of his generation and one of the twentieth century's greatest writers. He was appointed Poet Laureate in 1984 and held the office until his death. In 2008, The Times ranked Hughes fourth on its list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945".
He married fellow poet Sylvia Plath in 1956, and they lived together in the United States and then in England, in a tumultuous relationship. They had two children before separating in 1962 and Plath ended her own life in 1963.

No, neću biti lijena i probat ću doći do dječjeg viđenja.

Pročitala sam par recenzija i spominje se i Kafkin „Preobražaj“ kao usporedba. On mi je bio dobar i nije dječja knjiga, u Tigru (dječjoj knjizi) sama to nisam prepoznala, iako sada, kada razmislim, razumijem, ali mi i dalje nema smisla.

Well, that was short and enigmatic! Amusing, though, and better than the run-on bed-time stories that Hughes published but not as good as the origin stories such as How the Whale Became.

I love Faber stories and the first line was intriguing- ‘There was a boy........and ends with .....he was special.’ I adore everything tigers and the story flowed smoothly along with his night and day dreams. I just wished the ending was more tied up but I guess that’s a Faber classic for you. A charming story with beautiful dark illustrations.

Opening Line: There was a boy.......He was special. What more you want to dive into the book!

I dont read short stories much. When I picked this book I didnt know much about it. I was into book haul buying all possible good books and saw this book with shiny purple backgrond and golden tiger on it. So though why not? It turned out to be an unsual little book with gripping story which was fast paced and unpreditable. There is not much of a story in this but soemhow there is a lot more than a story. It's a feeling which one can only feel and can't explain when asked.

Imagine you dreaming something and you realize that thats what exactly you have become. It's kind of creepy but very cahrming story.
I read it in one sitting and I was still hoping for more, end was bit disapointing, felt like there could have been more. But then thats what short stories do, leave you for wanting more.

Where's the rest of this book?! It honestly feels like the introduction to a book letting you that there is a very imaginative boy who feels like he is actually a tiger.... and then it ends. It's all set up and NO payoff. And it's sad because it's well written and it's written to engage the reader, and yet it doesn't take the reader anywhere~! No one can convince me that this wasn't meant to be a longer story. Gah!

This book was fairly fast paced in the sense that there wasn't exactly an ideal moment to put it down. It's a short book and the ending is quite abrupt, however I did really enjoy it and think that it's a great book for children who want to get into reading.

Unusual little book. Gripping and fast paced, I couldn't predict where it was going. So the ending was a bit of a disappointment. Short enough that it was worth it anyway.

Very well-written, intriguing, and engaging... until it suddenly stopped, leaving us confused and asking, "What?!"
