Disturbing Behavior

Rate this book
Seventeen-year-old Steve Clark and his family have just moved to Cradle Bay Island and are settling into their new life.

At first everything seems fine in the small, quaint island community.  But then Steve meets the Blue Ribbon kids, the most popular group at Cradle Bay High.  The Blue Ribbons get the best grades, have plenty of school spirit, and do everything their parents ask them to.  Their idea of a wild time is hanging out at the Yogurt Shoppe on Main Street.  Adults think the Blue Ribbons are a great bunch, but Steve learns that if you disagree with the Blue Ribbons, you'd better watch out.  They have a strict code of conduct, and if they see you out of line, those peaceful, happy Blue Ribbons explode into deadly rage.

Steve and his new friends Gavin and Rachel uncover the sinister plot behind the Blue Ribbons' disturbing behavior and plan to bring the group down--before the Blue Ribbons get to them first.

I've been obsessed with this movie since I was a kid, I only recently found out it even had a book (shocking I know) so of course, I HAD to buy it!
The book and the movie matched almost perfectly, which is awesome, but the book provided just a bit more information about somethings that made you curious watching the movie. Kinda like deleted scenes, if you will. Only thing was was totally different was the end.
Still epic though. Loved everything about this book. From the writing to the settings, plot, you name it. This is a book I don't think I would ever get bored reading. Lol I plan on reading it over and over again. Definitely one of my favs!

finallyyyyy finished this one! as a huge fan of the disturbing behavior film .. LOL.. i absolutely loved it! i really enjoy the extra depth it gives to the characters. and the extra scenes it adds to the story. i honestly wish this novelization was even longer :’) also. the film’s original ending was used in this instead of the awful one from the theatrical cut of the film which is great in my opinion since it actually allows gavin’s arc to come to a close. a very sad close.. but.. still. oh how i love these characters ☹️🫶

This is one of the best novelizations I've ever read. It's plain but descriptive, and adds more to the story. It's just a shame the finished film was meddled with by the higher-ups.

I wish they had kept the deleted scenes, made the story so much better.

I think this is a very well written book. I wanted to be nostalgic and remember the late 90s so I read the book in a couple days even though it was on my shelf for a few years. I then watched the movie again. I saw it first in the theater during the late 90s when I was about the same age as the characters in the movie. the music, actors and setting of the movie give it an interesting quality and a real 90s feel. the book pretty short and simple to read and worthwhile to get a copy of. One thing that stands out is the interesting setting which is created as a beautiful fictional town which has a lot of dark secrets.

okay that ending with gavin was way better than the movie..i love closure even if it’s heartbreaking 😖🫶 he was so right tho that’s my dysfunctional family!! i wish there were more details that weren’t in the movie, but since it was just a short novelization, i can’t complain! but this vibe is so crunchable i love it!! awesome little read for ppl who like the movie (me)!!

This actually was a really great book. The movie is good too, but the book is a little different.

About what would be expected from the novelization of the movie. It sure could've been worse.
