Useful and thorough. However, it lost a star for adopting what felt like a patronising tone. Just because I'm visiting Vienna, doesn't mean I intend to act like a bourgeoisie bell-end.

First time using a travel guide from the Lonely Planet series and it did the job on my recent trip to Austria. Detailed information about popular tourist stops as well as a briefing on history, language and culture. Even in the internet age, I still prefer traveling with a hard copy guide.

Did the job while I was in Vienna. Went on the shelf when I got home. Never taken off the shelf since.
