Are they fated to be together, or are the stars against them?

Beth has had enough of men since her lying ex cheated on her. Human men, anyway. But when she has a chance to meet her longtime crush, star paraball player Odin, she spoils it with an inadvertent faux pas. Distraught at ruining her big chance but still eager for a family of her own, she signs up with Celestial Mates.

Odin’s being threatened by an ex who wants him back. He needs a wife, preferably yesterday. Celestial Mates is the fastest way to find one. The last thing he expects is for Celestial Mates to match him with the human woman he saw after a paraball game...the one he's been thinking about ever since.

It doesn’t take Odin long to fall for his bride-to-be. But things get complicated when his habit of using disguises to protect his privacy leaves Beth believing that she’s fallen in love with someone else, not the sexy alien she’s about to marry. Can Odin fix things in time, or will his marriage be over before it starts?

Alien Conquest is part of the Celestial Mates series and a STAND-ALONE, full-length science fiction romance. There are no cliffhangers, and a happy ending is guaranteed!

3.5 stars and no higher because she crushed my soul when she reacted the way she did at the wedding and after. My heart was breaking for him and she was just so nasty. Why marry him if that's how you feel? Then I wasn't a fan of how quickly she changed her tune in the ravine.

4.5 stars. This was my first book by Lisa Lace and it made me a fan for sure. I love a good sci-fi and this one had a really good storyline. Odin is a famous throughout the galaxy for bring a paraball player and Beth is his biggest fan. Her friend knows Odin and is trying to introduce them before a game when they realize they have cut in front of the other fans. Beth is so embarrassed, she doesn't stay to meet him.

Odin has a bit of ex-girlfriend trouble, so his agent thinks he needs to get married and have a wife. So, his agent arranges a bride from Celestial Mates. Beth has always wanted to be happily married with children, but feels like her chance is slipping away. She is chosen for Odin's bride.

The night before the wedding they each go out and end up staying the night together unknowingly, since he is wearing a holographic disguise. They get married, but Beth is unhappy about it because she fell for her "one-night" stand. I really liked these two and thought this was a fun twist....luckily it was with each other or I'm not sure I would have been quite so happy about it. Very good, already looking for my next book of hers to read.....and already started stalking....err following her.

I received this book as an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.

In this book Odin Sobota and Beth . Odin is a paraball player that Beth has had a crush on for years. She never thinks that she would ever get the chance to meet him until one night her friend Casey takes her backstage after the game. Beth embarrasses easily and when she thinks that she has cut the line to meet this man and that he will think poorly of her she runs away. Little did she know there just might be a chance to meet her crush again. Beth only wants a few things in life and they are mainly to be a wife and a mother mostly a mother but she see her chances floating away. Can Celestial Mates help or will she loose her dreams forever?

Odin can't stop thinking about the girl that got away that night he wishes Casey would have found a way to introduce them but he has bigger problems to deal with than that right now. On of his ex-flings is threatening to spread lies about him and possibly ruin his career. So he does what his manager thinks is best he gets ready to marry someone else so that it will get her off his back and he can keep his career. What happens though when the woman he can't stop thinking about practically falls into his lap the night before his wedding? Can he really have it all or will he loose something more important than anything he has ever had?

This is a great book about finding love and learning what you will be willing to let go of to keep that love. We all have a past and sometimes that past can cloud our future if we aren't honest about what has happened. This book has some twists that I really want to tell you more about but don't want to ruin them for anyone else. I would say this is a great read and I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Great sci-fi romance

This is the story of Odin, an alien paraball player, and Beth, a human female with a huge crush on Odin. Beth and her friend are at a paraball game when her friend drags her to meet Odin and they accidentally cut in line which embarrasses Beth and she runs. On Earth, Beth feeling lonely and with her sister's urging signs up for Celestial Matchmaking. Meanwhile, Odin discovers that an ex-girlfriend is trying to blackmail him with false stories designed to ruin his career unless he marries her. So his agent talks him into signing up for Celestial Matchmaking with the idea she can't blackmail him if he's already married. Odin, on his last day of bachelorhood, decides to go out with a special mask designed to hide his face to have one last fling. While at the bar, he spies Beth, unaware that she's his intended bride. Beth seduces Odin and they spend the night together. Beth ends up falling in love with him unaware that he's her intended groom. On her wedding day, she meets Odin and is surprised to find the famous paraball player. Odin recognizing her immediately and becomes determined to make her love him, but she's unwilling to love him when she loves another man, unaware that he's now her husband. Odin realizes that he needs to tell her the truth, but he's unaware that she doesn't trust men. This is a romance with the consequences of deception and how important it is for a couple to trust one another. It also has HOT sex and great dialogue. Definitely worth the purchase.

After embarrassing herself in front of her idols, Beth is crushed she cannot follow through with men and all she has ever wanted was a family. Her friend talks her into finding someone through an agency who sets up arranged marriages, Celestial Mates. Well, of course, coincidence would have it, that she would meet a fantastic man the night before her wedding.
Odin is a paraball player who is on the verge of a huge career ending scandal. His manager decides the best course for him is to find a wife and he know the perfect place. An agency that will find a mate for you, perfect! Until the night before his wedding, he goes out to celebrate his last night as a bachelor and little does he know, discovers the woman of his dreams.
Not a bad story, but pretty predictable. Even with that, I really liked the love at first sight, always so romantic. Yet its just a little unbelievable how aliens can marry and be compatible? With him hiding being a mask and her not knowing until after, and the struggle of how he would tell her, little sad. How one little white lie snowballs and overwhelms. What relationship is easy though. Would like to see more couples going with Celestial Mates!
This was a four star read for me.

I would recommend proofreading and searching for discrepancies in the narrative. For instance, at the end it is said they conceived on their first encounter. Then, he says that it is time for more babies and she says that it took them awhile. I searched to see if it was said sarcastically, but that wasn’t my vibe. Also, fraternal twins who are boy and girl cannot look identical because they are a boy and a girl. 😬

I find that the story lacks descriptive detail. For instance, in what way is Odin an alien other than they live on another planet and he plays a barely described sport. Since the names from this other place seem Nordic, we might as well make it that Beth is American and Odin is from Norway. He plays soccer and they sign up for an arranged marriage. It would be far easier. In addition to Odin being an Alien, I would have liked more details on how his appearance makes him different or something to that affect.

Also, Beth was a bit unfortunate to me. “Woe is me! I neeeeeed a baby!!! How do I get a baby? Marry someone I know nothing about who might be a horrible father, husband, genetic donor. But I neeeeeeeeed a baby and I want a family.” Patience is generally a virtue. But hey, she got to marry someone she loves. Go her.

Celestial Matchmaking is at it again. Beth has just about had it with men but she desperately wants a baby. Odin doesn't really want a mate but when a stalker ex-girlfriend tries to tarnish his image he needs to find one ...sharpish!! But when he meets a cute human at a Paraball game and then sees her in the bar the night before his arranged wedding he decides that this is his last fling. Not wanting to add another potential stalker to the list he uses a hologram emitter to change his face.

Beth can't really abide the thought of marrying someone she doesn't know. She has had a biggest crush on Odin, the paraball player for forever! But when she meets another Odin in the bar the night before the wedding she decides to have one last fling! Cue miscommunication and double dealing all around!

I felt kind of bad for both of them to be honest. It can't be easy to have one of the more noticeable faces in the universe. But it did feel a wee bit funny that Beth never clicked that so soon after meeting Paraball Odin that she meets another Odin!

Well worth a lunch hour though!

Cute sci-fi romance story. Novella length, so a quick read.

Odin is a galactic famous paraball player who Beth has had a crush on for a long time. She has an opportunity to meet him when a friend of hers is going to introduce them at a fan event. However, the friend jumps the line and Beth is embarrassed about getting called out about it. So she leaves, never meeting Odin.

After a discussion with her sister, she signs up for Celestial mates. She’s ready to start a family. In the meantime, Odin is being blackmailed by an ex-girlfriend and needs to get married quickly in order to keep his career. You guessed it, the fates have paired Beth with her crush Odin. They have a bit of a misunderstanding, makeup, decide they’re in love after about a day and they lived happily ever after.

Will this book win any awards? Probably not. But it was a fun way to pass a couple of hours. The epilogue is real cute.

So, the title sounds cheesy but the story is actually good.
Beth wants a family, complete with husband and kids. But she's tired of dating and doesn't think she'll ever find what she's looking for. Until her sister suggests a dating site called Celestial Mates. The service is arranged marriages for all species, human or alien.
She's all for it...until she meets Odin the night before her wedding.
He's actually a sports superstar that Beth has had a crush on for years. But he's wearing a holographic disguise so no one will notice him and he can be out in public in peace. He's drawn to Beth in a way he's never been drawn to anyone.
But now she only knows him by his disguise. How is he going to reveal his true self without losing the only woman he's ever cared about?
It's an interesting premise. The ending is typical, but it was no less fun getting there. 5 stars!

H was a manwhore until he met the h. Not too likable but likable enough. Sadly, the same can't be said about the h.

The h is the most hypocritical person in the universe.

I got this novella for free. Aliens and humans move freely between planets. Even holding a game contests called paraball. Odin Sobota was a major player of paraball. Because of mistakes in hispast, he enters a dating service that marries matches together. Beth is a human wanting to escape her past and does the same. Much of the story deals with the problems of getting them together. TThis novella was full of humor and on the next page making the reader cry. It was very good, getting the people together and showing the ups and downs ofnormal life.

this one was pretty good. I kinda thought some of Beth's reactions were a little over the top but her reasoning for most of them were sound. considering the cheating ex and all I can see where she would have issues with men but I really wish there had been more of a description of Odin. it says he's from Dorsh but never said what those ppl look like... I'm assuming since they talk about a common ancestor with humans that they look human but we don't get any description of him other than his purple eyes which is kind of disappointing. anyways I still think this was a nice quick read.

I love this book from beginning to end. I love alien romances because they always take you out of this work..no pun intended...but I love the detachment I get from every day life when I read books like this and Lace did not disappoint. Thank you...readers don't miss out on this one...short but sexy and sweet wrapped into one.

Funny

I find it funny that she got mad at him for having a one nightstand but she forgot about her part she played in all that so sufficed to say I got missed when she stormed out because of the way h decided to open her eyes to the truth even though she had just arranged to run away with another man in her wedding day

Gifted a copy. Writing a voluntary review;

Alien Conquest is part of a series that has proven time and time again that there is happiness inside the Sci-Fi world. Great fantasy read and not necessary to read the series in order for the reader to understand the book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I know it all may be a little far-fetched, but isn't that what it is all about...escaping into that wonderful make believe world where everything works out to happily ever after in the end? I enjoyed reading it and am sure you will too.

Odin and Beth use the Celestial marriage site that sets up marriage between aliens and humans site unseen. A case of "mistaken" identity has Beth second guessing her decision. A well-written, sweet, sultry alien romance.

Decent story

This was a decent story, a little rushed though. There were a lot of grammar errors too, however, the errors don't detract from the story.

The book itself was good. I liked the end. But I feel like it all happened so fast. It was just lacking in the middle. And I’m the beginning it was repetitive.
