With over 200,000 copies sold, find out why the Legacy Fleet Trilogy is one of the most popular sci-fi series of 2016! This edition includes the exclusive story Hero, which serves as a bridge between the Legacy Fleet trilogy and the Legacy Ship Trilogy.
Constitution: The year is 2650 75 years ago, an alien fleet attacked Earth. Without warning. Without mercy. We were not prepared. Hundreds of millions perished. Dozens of cities burned. We nearly lost everything.
Then, the aliens abruptly left.
We rebuilt. We armed ourselves. We swore: never again. But the aliens never came back.
Until now.
With overwhelming force the aliens have returned, striking deep into our territory, sending Earth into a panic. Our new technology is useless. Our new ships burn like straw. All our careful preparations are wasted.
Now, only one man, one crew, and the oldest starship in the fleet stand between the Earth and certain destruction:
ISS CONSTITUTION
Warrior:
We repelled the Swarm, for now. But they won’t stop: they’re inhuman. They have no inhibitions. No conscience. And no mercy.
But from the crucible of battle has risen an unlikely hero. Captain Timothy Granger, at the helm of another time-tested battleship, will take the fight to the enemy. He’ll discover their secrets. Find their homeworld. Destroy it before they destroy ours.
He will save us all. He must. Or we’ll die.
Victory:
United Earth burns.
The Swarm runs rampant across our space. We mourn the loss of thousands of ships and millions of fallen comrades. Billions of fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers--all gone, all dead. It is time we end this, for our moment has come.
But victory never comes without sacrifice. Heroes are not taught nor trained, but forged in blood and ashes. Our grandchildrens' history books will tell our story, and glorify the heroes and legends.
Nick became a scientist so that he could build starships. Unfortunately, his ship is taking longer to build than he'd hoped, so fictional starships will have to do for now. When he's not adding to his starship collection, you can find him tweeting and facebooking about Nasa, science, space, SciFi, and quoting Star Trek II.
He lives in Alabama with his wife, 2 kids, and 3 motorcycles.
Note: This author also writes books under the name of Endi Webb
This book... I gave up pretty early because every character just seems like a miserable human being, one with whom I would hate to send any time at all. I would say unbelievably so, but the past few years have shown me there are actual humans who behave like this. I don't choose to read about them though, so, abandoning.
To be honest, the review I just wrote for Odyssey Awakening works equally well here: “Military SF is a niche interest, harking back to the golden age of EE ‘Doc’ Smith and and the later Starship Troopers. It’s also the sub-genre most frequently touched by contemporary geo-political concerns. Plus, really big guns, space battles and shedloads of pseudo-physics. “ One thing that strikes me as curious, however, is the Pollyanna-ish assumption that the military are fundamentally incorruptible. Having just finished a fascinating book about the current state of war across The Middle East, I’d beg to differ...
Book one was excellent if a bit Oorah! After that it got very messy. I was going to say complicated but messy is more accurate. Humanity was certainly not portrayed in a very good light! The Epilogue at the end of Victory left me bemused. I found it to be totally illogical. None of the arguments put forward to justify the indiscriminate loss of ships and people were convincing. Otherwise this is a standard action filled ‘us against the aliens’ story with ruthless politicians out for themselves. As for General Norton, even if he was head of the JCoS, I can’t see him being allowed to interfere in a space conflict! I found this character to be unrealistically incompetent. I couldn’t get through the set quickly enough! I won’t be reading the next series.
This is the story of a very long, time-jumping war
Yes, your mind will get very jumbled trying to keep up with Relativity, the uncertainness of Quantum Mechanics, war, treachery, fighting, flying, love and politics. Whew. Not everything is explained, but threads from the beginning continue to be woven into the end of this Trilogy.
Wonderfully written story, amazing characters. I've been reading Science Fiction for decades, so many books and stories that initially this one seemed similar to others, such that I almost gave it up as just another rehash....Man am I glad I stuck with it. The characters become very real, I was brought to tears repeatedly as the ending approached.
LOVED IT!!!!! lots of action. Love the Clock and Dagger aspect of the second book. Chapters are short and flowed very well very easy to read and to get into. I will be picking up the first book to the second half of the trilogy very soon.
At first it was "arch royal" revived with only different characters....And I was disgusted. Actually I felt cheated. But as I kept reading it finally became its own book.
I was hesitant to try it because first reviews told that it was a Battlestar Galactica remake, but i decided to try it at last and i am not disappointed. Yes, it starts similar to BSG but it evolves into something different... i read the trilogy in less than a week, and im sure to try the next one
What an amazing and exciting series! Granger is the perfect reluctant hero, doing all he can to save humanity from the Swarm. The battles are out of this world, vividly descriptive and utterly enthralling. The bureaucracy, along with the backstabbing and underhandedness, is remarkably easy to believe. For sci-fi fans I would consider this a must read.
One fantastic read. I blasted through this story and loved the whole ride. Some great characters, different points of view and unlikely heroes that kept me turning the page. Everything, from the world politics to the ship functions felt grounded in fact and fully developed. The stakes kept getting higher, and the enemy kept getting more insidious. Highly recommend!
At first I thought that I had already read, BUT THIS IS GREAT
A well written and executed set of books. I was captured and kept going back whenever I could to keep reading. A very good read and going to buy the next book "Independence" as soon as I finish this.
Really enjoyed this series! Read the trilogy, and it flew right by. Took a few chapters to start getting into it, but we'll worth it. Definite space war opera genre, so if you do t k or what that it, probably isn't for you.
What would we do if future human populations in our galaxy were attacked and almost obliterated? We would fight back. Great character development and intriguing plot twists.
