Lola Grace was a lonely poor little rich girl. With a mother whose only concern was her political career, Lola craved love and attention even if it's from the wrong source.

Max Rivers came from a family with legacy. He's stuck in a loveless marriage with his hand tied. He was determined to ride it out until his teenage stepdaughter risked derailing his life.



I was intrigued but this book due to the taboo element especially with the notion of it being dark. There were dark elements in the story but this book is not a dark one in term of the feel.

I'm going to forget all about her, because I need to do the right thing for once in my goddamn life.

I do like Max, and he was sexy. He was not too old for their relationship to not be yucky lol! But for someone with his background, he did some things that made me questioned his intelligence.

I’d do anything for this man, any-fucking-thing he told me to do. And I’m not about to stop just because he showed me a part of himself I didn’t know before.

I like how Lola was not some annoying brat. She knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to get it. Of course she did some irrational things, however I forgive her due to her age/inexperience :P



The story actually has good potential but it wasn't developed properly. For a short book, it tried to cram in too many tropes. I like the suspense element but it was too elaborate without enough backing to have the appropriate impact. It would have worked better if it wasn't trying to accomplish too much. This book is like being served a delectable buffet with only 7 minutes to eat it.

I dig my nails into the sheets, moaning his name as he lifts my ass up and circles my tight puckered hole. I gasp when he touches me there, still unused to having him touch me in that area.

With that said I thank the smut god for the hot sex! The scenes were appropriately dirty and the couple had good chemistry when they exchanged bodily fluids.

His Brat is a story of lust and betrayal with a taboo setting. It would appeal to readers looking for sexy story with lots of other things thrown in.

This book was not for me. Partly my fault. I should have taken the label "Dark" seriously. I just thought it was labeled that way because of the taboo of stepdad/stepdaughter relationship. I got to 68% and I just couldn't finish. This book is NOT safe, lots of triggers and the things happening were not sexy.

The first 35ish % of the book was good, a few small issues I would have overlooked but then a scene happened that completely ruined the story for me. I still trudged on but it was getting worse so I stopped reading.

I've read Dark books before and have enjoyed them but this one didn't work for me. I love the taboo of older man/younger woman tropes even the step dad/daughter scenario if their is no relations with the mom. In this case, there is no relationship with the mom. Their marriage is a business transaction, so that was safe but the book fell apart for me after that was revealed.

Now take out the dark parts and this book still wasn't working for me. I am a fan of a strong Alpha. The Alpha in this book was strong, but not. He was demanding of the h which I like, but he didn't stick to his decisions. He wanted her, then the next second he felt guilty and tried to make her leave. This kept happening! The same with the h. She said yes, then no because he was married to her mom, then back to yes again. I was getting whiplash from the constant back and forth.

The h is only 18 and some of the abuse happened to her when she was much younger. I just can't get past that. ARC provided by author.

OKAY this was honestly so sexy. what happens when Max meets sweet Lola Grace?? the sexual tension between them both were crazy from the start and oh myy every single sex scene was SCORCHING hot!! i lovedd the part where Max was smoking while he watched lola grace ride him urgh
i would have given it 5 stars but i deducted one because i didn't really like how lola grace thinks! Max was alright but i really like it because he genuinely cared for his kitten aka lola grace lol. screw Annabel too, nice to see what they all deserved in the end. 4 stars!

I wanted to like this book. I really did. But Starling seems to have thrown EVERYTHING into this book. A little 50 Shades, a little inked bad boy, a little alpha billionaire, a little dark, a little mean girls, a little..... oh dear.

So, virginal Lola Grace (LG) just turned 18 and picks Max, a 35 yr old inked bad boy at a bar and goes home with him for a night of unbridled passion. He is smitten, but gets up the next morning to marry a cold hearted bit&@ - who wants to be mayor -under a contract that will give his alcoholic gambler lawyer father and psycho mother income to reverse the wreck they have made of their finances. The new wife happens to be Lola Grace's mother...who hasn't yet divorced her 'dead' peadophile creeping husband who isn't really dead....

Oh yes, and there's a girlfriend who really died during childbirth but Max was told by his parents that because of him she committed suicide...

Keeping up? Yep, neither did I...

Max and Lola Grace get together as LG (who was roofie-d by her 'BFF' then set LG up to star in a 'recorded' porn filled sex tape with two frat boys in their university class... only apparently the tape was never made and no porn was committed really) and soon as LG discovers - because her bit&@ of a mother just ups and tells her - and so Max's marriage is void.

EVERY ONE BAD GETS WHAT'S COMING TO THEM - from broken noses, being grounded by their senator father (REALLY??? A Senator for frig sake!!) getting duffed up and / or jail time) and the H and h walk off into the sunset to do anal, have kids and live the beach life. Literally.

The implausible secondary stories and sudden entrance of a BDSM playroom in the closing death throes of this story just wreck what would otherwise have been a brilliant and hot little smexy read.

The writing itself is shit hot and on point so why this author felt she needed to throw everything but the kitchen sink into this plot is beyond me....

Imma read some other books of this author as I really enjoyed the writing style and have put this book down to an temporary aberration.
(Now I just feel mean...)

The stars are for the writing style.
They don't have minus stars for crazy overstuffed plots.

”You gave me a new piece to fill the hole with,” I tell her. “A broken and damaged and complicated-as-fuck puzzle, but it makes me feel... you make me feel whole again, kitten.”

For a long time, I wanted to read something by this author after reading good reviews. So, I finally started with this one and I was not disappointed. The writing was interesting, suspenseful and steamy. I loved the little forbidden element in it. Although, I wish the title should have been his kitten rather than brat.

We meet Lola grace who has a one night stand with Max rivers on her eighteenth birthday but soon finds out the next day that he’s her stepdaddy, which of course was a surprise. Lola was sweet, naive, helpful, trusting and sometimes a little bratty. For an eighteen year old, she really handled a lot of things bravely.

Max was insanely caring and sweet towards Lola but a dominant and dirty talker in bed. The reason behind his marriage to her mother was to improve her image since she’s running for mayor. What he didn’t expect to find was Lola as his step daughter and the instant connection and chemistry he felt with her.

”You’ll stay with me,” Max replies like it isn’t even a question, and I find myself smiling in response.
“You’re sure?” I ask him doubtfully. “I sometimes talk in my sleep. I’ve even been known to snore once in a while. And I like to sleep naked.”
His eyes have a wicked glint to them as he grins at me. “Fucking perfect, kitten.”

Together they were explosive. They belonged with each other. Their journey to happily ever after was definitely a difficult and dark road with unexpected twists and turns. I loved the suspense in this story. It dealt with dark subjects.

Honestly I expected this to be just smut( which it at times was) but the plot turned out to be just as amazing and I could not have been happier. I finished this in one seating.

Lola Grace is 18 years Of age, Celebrating her birthday with friends.
They both end up at the same bar and have an instant connection. She spends the night with Max.
The next day Lola Grace is summoned by her mother for lunch, which turns into a disaster when her mother introduces Max as her New Husband.
There are so many twists, turns, and gasps from this point on. The sex scenes are scorching hot. If you enjoy taboo to stepdaughter/ stepdaddy romance this book is for you.

When Lola Grace pulls away because she feels hurt by the situation, Max finally makes her listen to him explain what the business arrangement is all about. As events unfold for each of the characters, unpleasant situations lead to sharing troubled stories from the past. Will Max & Lola Grace find a way to be together? Or will their families stand in the way? Or will events both present & past be to much to overcome?

This is a dark short story about two lost souls. Each being ruled by controlling parent(s) & finally finding freedom in loving another to break away. This book is meant for mature readers. There is a lot of sexual activity going on. There is no underage sex happening!

Max e Lola Grace si conoscono per caso e tra loro scoppia subito un’attrazione innegabile, tanto che passano una notte di fuoco insieme. Il giorno seguente ognuno va per la propria strada, ma a volte il destino ci sorprende in un modo inaspettato. Lola Grace scopre che Max è il nuovo marito di sua madre e da qui parte un tacito accordo sul non toccarsi e non parlare mai più di quella fatidica sera. Lola Grace però non è affatto d'accordo sulla questione, anche perché l'attrazione che è scoppiata la sera precedente non è scomparsa, anzi si è rafforzata molto di più. Più passano i giorni infatti, più entrambi pensano all'altro, forse oltre a quell’attrazione c'è dell'altro… riusciranno a scoprire cosa? È la prima storia che leggo di quest'autrice, ero molto curiosa di scoprire come fosse, anche perché è stata presentata con una cover bellissima. La storia è raccontata in prima persona da parte di entrambi i protagonisti. La lettura è molto scorrevole, però avrei voluto che la storia fosse arricchita con più episodi, perché i fatti narrati di per sé sono molto interessanti, ma li ho trovati un po' sbrigativi, soprattutto il finale. Ci sono delle vicende all'interno che potevano essere ampliate. Tuttavia mi sono piaciuti molto i personaggi principali. Lola Grace ad esempio nonostante la sua giovane età, è una donna indipendente e caparbia, riesce in qualche modo a cavarsela da sola e il suo unico difetto è voler bene alle persone sbagliate. Max invece è un uomo con la U maiuscola. Alto, possente, tatuato e barbuto, fa girare la testa a molte donne e per cercare di tenere unita la sua famiglia cerca di dare tutto se stesso, ma a volte le persone usufruiscono troppo del vero valore della parola famiglia. Le scene di passione sono molto focose e dettagliate, con alcuni accenni al BDSM. Importanti saranno anche un paio di personaggi secondari che orneranno la vicenda narrata. La sua tentazione è stata una lettura piacevole e mi piacerebbe molto leggere altro di quest'autrice…

A dark and dirty read that won’t leave you disappointed. Lola Grace just turned 18 when she met Max in a bar one night. Max knew she was young but Lola Grace was determined to have him in all ways possible. Can you imagine the surprise on both of their faces when the next day comes and Lola Grace is to meet her mother’s next husband and Max is that man?! What Lola Grace doesn’t know is that Max has been forced into this marriage with her mother and he can’t keep his “kitten” out of his mind. As far as Lola Grace’s mother is concerned Max is a means to an end which hopefully will put her in the mayoral position she longs for. As far as mothers go though you wouldn’t wish her mother on anyone because she has proven over and over again that she is a self-centered, heartless bitch!

Will Lola Grace and Max ever be able to make things right? They know it is wrong…and oh, so wrong in such a good and wicked way! How will Lola Grace’s mother prove that she isn’t mother or wife material? (which probably makes her the perfect politician…I know, cynical much?!) This is a hot, dirty read that will have you rooting for the hot couple that work their way into your heart.

I never thought i would find a book where ALL the characters are identically stupid, spineless, dumb and punchable. I always found atleast one MC or side character who is the saving grace or just the better one among them. This story proved me so wrong it's hilarious.

The only good thing -according to the reviews and probably why we have read this- is the smut. Which unfortunately for me, because I'm apparently binging smutty books in a row, this paled in comparison and i kinda just skimmed it? I was bored.

I had thought about the stupidity of the characters, the spineless MCs, and all the things i will be mentioning here about each character i hated. But since it's all of them. Let's not waste my energy.

I just have one question.
Can someone please fucking explain to me just wtf is wrong with the heroine's name?
Am i stupid or is Lola Grace is not a first name?
There IS a gap in the middle right? It's not Lolagrace????
So...
Why tf is everyone in the book addressing her as "Lola Grace" like Grace is not a last name????

Isabella Sterling’s new book His Brat is a quick page turner. It is filled with a variety of twists and turns that you don’t see coming. Overall the books is well written and a good read, however it has left me feeling like something was missing. The main characters Lola Grace and Max had a hot and full contact relationship in the book. However, this relationship left me feeling just a loss for connection as a reader.

They were very two dimensional at the startle the book. You get the Dominate Alpha feel for Max and the lost willing good girl from Lola Grace. Their relationship is pulled in a tone of different directions as they grow in the pages of the book. This changes as you read but the additional content didn’t fulfill the connection as a reader completely. It feels almost forced buy the addition of the BDSM treated that are later given to Max.

Like I said before the book over all is good and the plot kept me turning the pages. But I sell feel lost. If you like a book that is quick and dirty this is for you. There are quite a few dirty sections that is why it got a steam of 5. The content over all is good and that got a 4 out of 5 from me. I have read other books by Isabella and I do look forward to more of them, but this was not one of my favorite books.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about or all the negative reviews. This pretty much is like every other role-playing, BDSM, blackmail type of book but with a few parts that were actually rather sweet.
I didn't really like Lola Grace that much but Max was hot and took care of her in the end. Not bad for a 99 cents darkish read.

This was a good read I love reading Isabella books they are always dark and delicious to read. Max goes out to a bar on his last night of freedom with a friend of his when he meets young hot Kitten who he hooks up with. Lola Grace has just turned 18 she is out at a bar drinking with friends when she meets the hot sexy older man she gives her virginity too. While at lunch the next day she meets her mother's new husband who turns out to be Max. This was a good read imagine both of their surprises at lunch. I did not like her mother Annabel she needed a husband so she could become Mayor she was heartless and willing to do anything to get what she wanted. This book had a lot of drama in it and at times it was too much with all the twist and turns. I also didn't like Max's parents I he is 35 and they are interfering with his life. I don't read a lot of step-father step-daughter reads but this was a good one. The sex scenes in this book was hot. This book also had a lot of emotions in it. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. If you like reading hot dark erotic romance than I recommend you read this book.

Wow! I loved the hero-Max. He was trying to do what was best for his step-daughter Lola Grace.
Lola Grace has had such a hard life. She moved out at 17, went to college at 18 and her mom calls her back to live at home to project a good home image. When out celebrating her birthday, she runs into this sexy hot man. This said man is going thru some issues as well. Well, the two of them end up having a totally hot night where she loses her virginity to him. She wanted to see him again but he has “commitments” and this must be goodbye says the hot man-- Lola didn’t expect to see her nighttime lover again except when she goes to have lunch with her mom, the nighttime lover man is there and guess what, he is her new stepdad. Now the heat is on, they want each other but he is married to her mother. Oh this is such a dark and delicious book. There are many twists and turns that play throughout. Things happen to Lola and to Max…I have to say now, I totally dislike immensely her mom and her best friend. When you read this story, you will understand why. I loved Max and Lola together. The ending was good , I would have liked to seen them maybe 2 years out and seen how life was treating them but I loved what epilogue did show. Lola and Max have this smoking hot chemistry which made this a fantastic read.

This book was.ok, but for me.it just had so much going on in it. The first couple of chapters had me very intrigued, as to where Max was going and why did it seem like a death sentence. Then it just got a little.crazy with the stepdad/stepdaughter thing which isn't so unusual but it had so many things going on like alpha billionaire, mature guy/innocent girl, abusive pasts for.both of them, BDSM relationship that the innocent girl seemed to have down packed without even ever had sex. I got confused if "kitten" was actually raped or.did they just say she was to extort the money. I think the booj has potential but itjust too busy for me.

I’m totally into the whole stepdaddy/brother taboo craze, but this was a big jumbled mess of crazy. Too much story in too small a space. Books should be dark, serious erotica or cheesy porn, and this tries to be both. It’s a little ridiculous and over the top.

3,5 Quando mi sono aggiudicata questo ARC sono stata felice, adoro i forbidden romance e le premesse di questa storia sembravano nelle mie corde; tutte le mie aspettative però sono state disattese. Il pathos da relazione proibita è assente. La componente sessuale è molto accentuata e da una storia così mi aspetto che sia agognata. La trama aveva dei buoni spunti, ma tutti liquidati in poche righe; non ho percepito i sentimenti dei protagonisti e spesso mi sono sembrati troppo in balia degli eventi. È una lettura che consiglio a chi ha voglia di leggere qualcosa di hot e di non molto lungo.

Già dalle prime pagine ho capito che tipo di storia avrei letto. Una commedia erotica direi :D Tutto ciò che ho letto in questa storia è tremendamente esagerato ai limiti dell'assurdo :D Lola Grace è una ragazzina stupidina, Max è un uomo che ragiona più con la testa di sotto che non con quella di sopra ahahahah. Entrambi sono passionali, entrambi amano fare le "cosacce". Purtroppo non posso dire tante cose perchè per forza di cose dovrei spoilerare. Per cui dico soltanto che se volete passare un paio d'ore di svago leggetelo XD P.S. La scelta di inserire il "lato oscuro" di Max mi ha fatto sbellicare dalle risate ahahahahah

I'm glad I didn't read this book description b/c it gave spoilers. I didn't know he was marrying "Kittens" mom...... Let me find that out in the book!

When they first meet... Hotness. The first time they do the humpty dance. Hotness.... Lunch with mom and they meet. Hotness.
And then shit goes downhill fast.
That video. Hotmess. Just giving in. Hotmess. Being very immature. Hotmess.

Come on Max... Dude. Your like 35 and she is 18. Set her ass straight. Quit letting her act HER AGE. I liked the age difference. I think older men are hot as shit. But your acting 18 too....

Lola Grace knows whats she wants, Max. However Max is engaged to her mother, even though the marriage is a facade and their are reasons behind it that Lola Grace does not know. A taboo attraction that has both Lola Grace and Max struggling with wanting something they cannot have, or can they?

It was a bit convoluted for me. I decided to give it a try based on the reviews, I think it was okay but not my cup of tea and had a few things I just didn't feel comfortable with.
