Ephemeral (The Countenance #1): In the grand scheme of things, you’ll be dead a lot longer than you’ll ever be alive.
The last thing Laken Stewart remembers is the oncoming car, then bursting through the windshield. Two months dissolve without her knowledge and she finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings with strangers who not only profess to know her but insist she’s someone else entirely.
Laken discovers her long dead boyfriend, Wesley, has been thrown into this alternate world as well. He is quick to inform her she suffered a horrible fall and that her memory hasn’t fully returned. According to Wesley the other life she had—her name, her family, they were simply a side effect of her brain trauma. In her quest for answers she meets Cooper Flanders, the son of her psychiatrist who readily believes every word she says.
Laken Stewart knows she died on that hot July afternoon, but now she’s alive—or is she?

I loved every breathtaking page! I've never seen such a beautifully formatted eBook and that was just the beginning. I kept seeing such great reviews on Goodreads for this trilogy so when the box set was on sale, I was sold! The beginning was a little confusing but you are meant to be confused as you step into Laken's shoes. I loved how the second and third books allowed you to see the point of view of both Cooper and Wesley. That was brilliant and such a treat as a reader! I had never read anything by this author before but am now a huge fan!
I read all the current Celestra books before I read this, and I was hesitant at first. I was so into Skyla's story and her loves that I thought I would not at all care about Laken. But I was wrong! This love story is even stronger and makes even more sense than what Skyla is going through, and it;s a great thing to read while you are waiting for the next one. I would love another book from this point of view in the series.
OMG the angst, the duplicity, and seriously just make up your mind already. I enjoyed book 1. It got me hooked. Book 2 pissed me off and was supremely annoying. Book 3 ended well but they just had to add that future possible change into it. Ugh. I plan to continue the series, but I hope it matures now that they aren't hormonal high school kids. Doubt it, but I can hope.
A grotesque, dystopian romance. Laken Stewart dies only to be reincarnated as Laken Anderson, a freshman at Ephemeral Academy. Once there, she finds her former boyfriend, Wesley Parker, is now Wesley Paxton. And those in power are greedy beyond measure.
While this is a trilogy, it's really a single story. Each title alone is an incomplete part of the whole. The end of the series has a modicum of relief; however, it is clear that the story is not done.
This trilogy is related to the Celestra series, but can be read on its own. Laken, the main character; Wes and Coop, the boys who love her; and the others who inhabit this world of Ephemeral Academy draw you into the mystery and action at the very beginning of the story. The secrets will be solved over the length of the trilogy. I don't want to give anything away. If you love young adult, paranormal, mystery, love stories, I highly recommend this trilogy.
Puerile, repetitive, poorly edited and lacking a credible plot. It's mostly fluff that leads nowhere. How many different words do you need and what variety of situations must you use to describe horny teenagers lusting over one another in a romantic triangle?
I enjoyed the books, but it started to drag a little towards the end of book 2 and the beginning of book 3. Also, I felt it left me hanging with unanswered questions. I hope there is a sequel so I can find out what really happens between the 3 main characters.
This trilogy makes absolutely no sense to me. It seems to involve counts who may be vampires or angels. Hard to tell because the author doesn't make anything clear.
This is an intriguing and adventurous tale that will captivate readers who crave a lighthearted and fast-paced fantasy journey, perfect for those who enjoy exploring the complexities of identity, memory, and the human experience through a unique blend of mystery and romance.
The first book was free on i books I ended up buying the trilogy.
I Immersed myself and got lost in the world of Ephemeral, the ending, time travel, mystery, humour and most of all Cooper.
My only negative feedback and reason I dropped two stars is that the writing could have involved less talk about hard-ons and tongues etc and more "brainiac" activity and immediacy from Laken to save her family. Laken is a real gutter mouth as well. She has some good comebacks but it just makes her seem that less classy the way she speaks. She doesn't want to be "the girl who runs around kissing two guys" but isn't that what she's practically doing anyway.
It would have made my decision a hell of a lot faster than she did as well.

Addison does it again! No disappointments here! Her writing is wonderful! I can never wait to start in on the next book. I know once I start a series, I'm going to have a few sleepless nights, depending on how many books are in the series because I have an unsatiable yearning to find out more as soon as I am finished with one. Definitely recommend Addison Moore's books to any and everyone! :)
This was an absolutely amazing and well written trilogy. The separate novels were each very entertaining and each flowed flawlessly into the next. I would definitely recommend you read these as the trilogy set you won't be disappointed
