In 1809, Justin St. John returns to England a damaged man. Once in London, he discovers his younger brother and heir has been killed in an accident. The younger man was knee-deep in scandal. He had compromised a young woman of quality a few days before his death. Justin feels he is honor-bound to offer marriage. To wed the woman was only Sensible. After meeting her he realizes she is the woman he had rescued in Hyde Park. Justin fell in love with that woman without knowing her name. He had to make her his wife, but he wonders if she had loved his brother. Can he win her heart?
