Fallen Ashes

Rate this book
As the last of her kind, Fallen awakes in a holding cell, but being locked up is the least of her problems.

She's been magically bound to a cocky Queen's Guardian named Saber. Because Fallen is the last dragon shifter in Tapestry, she's on everyone's hit list... especially his... but she doesn't have time to die by his hand. Fallen has to find her life mate in four weeks or else all of creation in her world will be destroyed.

Saber never asked to be brought to life. He certainly never wanted to be hexed and forced to transform into a mindless shadow assassin. Exiled from the Kingdom, he must rescue his stepfather from the Collector to prove his innocence. Otherwise he'll be hunted and killed. But his plans are temporarily put on hold when he's captured, imprisoned, and bound to a mysterious blond-haired vixen with a major fire addiction.

With time ticking away for Saber and Fallen, will the two be able to come together to defeat the Collector and save themselves, along with the rest of the world?

5 Fallen Ashes Stars

Well to be honest, I am NOT a fantasy fan. That being said this was the second book this week to have called me a liar!

I loved this book! I really thought it was going to be more paranormal than it was, but I am here to say it was more fantasy and I LOVE it.

Saber we find is learning who and he is and what his purpose is in this world. He is struggling with his self. And Fallen knows who and what she is but she has to hide. She was taught to hide who and what she is because bad terrible things would befall her.

They couldn't be more opposite yet the same if they tired. The Creator has plans and this is how they end up meeting and going on a journey that will bring them unbelievable pain and joy in equal measures.
It really is a story of finding yourself even if you didn't know that’s what was going to happen and maybe needing to learn to trust the most unlikeliest person put in your path.

I wasn't going to put a favorite quote because I haven’t in a review in a long time but this one keeps jumping out at me so her it is.

“If this whole mate thing is true, then I choose you.”

Right!! I mean that was awesome and it won’t leave my brain so I am sharing it with you all.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Fallen is the last dragon shifter in Tapestry. The fate of her world hinges on her finding her life mate and the clock is ticking. She's also on everyone’s list, too bad it is a hit list. Imprisoned in a holding cell, she has been bound to a Guardian who would like nothing more than to kill her himself. Not the best way to wake up for any girl...

Saber has been hexed, forced to turn into a rabid shadow assassin and on a mission to save his stepfather from the Collector (cue evil music). Should he fail, he, too shall become fodder for death. The last thing he needed was to be bound to the beautiful woman who can toast a marshmallow or a town with one breath. There is more to her than meets the eye, but she isn’t sharing, then again, Saber has his own secrets to hide.

As both race against the clock of death, each with their own mission, will they learn to work as a team to prevent the destruction of the world? She needs her life mate, he needs to prove his innocence…and the odds are stacked against them.

Welcome back to the world of T.F. Walsh as she takes us on her leg of the journey in the Fated & Forbidden Collection, penned by many multi-talented authors. FALLEN ASHES holds T.F. Walsh’s one-two punch for fantasy, action and unlikely romance as the feisty Fallen and the cocky Saber are forced to play nice together on the uneven playing field of death. The fact that they are unwillingly drawn to each other adds that spark of passion and heat as the suspense builds throughout this fast-paced fantasy!

As I devoured each page, I had a thought, what if they both survive and Fallen finds her mate while magically bound to Saber? Can you say awkward? No, T.F. Walsh couldn’t do that to us, could she? A standalone novel, this is T.F. Walsh at her wickedly fabulous best!

I received an ARC edition from T.F. Walsh in exchange for my honest review.

T.F. Walsh is an author who delivers three-dimensional characters that you can't help rooting for. Each page is full of passion and suspense that made me stay up late just to know what would happen next.

Fallen and Saber are forced to work together, but they can't deny their growing attraction for each other. I was spellbound by Walsh's world and her characters.

I can't wait to read more by T.F. Walsh as she and her characters always leave me satisfied with a Happily Ever After and magical paranormal worlds that I can't get enough of.
Pick up your copy today. Heck, buy all her books - they will leave you wanting more!

Fallen is the last of her kind and trapped in a holding cell. Bound by some frustrating spell to a gorgeous Queen's Guardian named Saber, they escape and flee. Their captors hunt them relentlessly as they try to learn to work together. Fallen has no time for the chase. She must find her life mate within four weeks or her world will be extinguished. Saber doesn't believe in her dreams and is determined to prove himself innocent of being exiled by saving his stepfather from the same villain that captured him. They must hurry or all could be lost for both of them.

This is one of my favorite books from T.F. Walsh. It's a unique premise of two parallel worlds; one our modern day society and the other, a magical fantasy land filled with both darkness and beautiful wonders. Walsh's lush descriptions of places and the monsters really bring the story to life. I especially loved she included the Hoia Baciu Forest. It's a haunting and fascinating place in Romania.

Fallen is a heroine that kicks butt. She's immediately sympathetic, and I rooted for her from the first scene. Paired with Saber, she's fiery in so many ways! I do love the story behind Saber and what motivates him. The tension between the two of them is hot, and I loved seeing how they worked with the chaos of their emotions with the conflicts going on. Noah is a villain you'll love to hate, and you'll wonder often if he's more than a match for Fallen and Saber. Tons of action and mystery. I couldn't get enough of this story. I ate it up as fast as I could!

I loved this book. T.F. Walsh has shown her extraordinary talent of story telling to life through her characters. I went thru the whole range of emotions while reading Fallen Ashes. Joy, sorrow, anger, frustration, hate and love. Through all the emotions you follow along with her characters, Fallen and Saber on their journey of trust, loyalty and love. The exhilarating trials and errors the unanticipated twists and suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat.
For all these reasons I give Fallen Ashes a five star rating. It's a book I recommend to those who like magic, dragon shifters and many other mystical creatures. It was truly a pleasurable read.

I voluntarily received an ARC of Fallen Ashes.  Paranormal romance, is one that I am tending to shy away from. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed everything that Walsh has sent me and I had to give this a try.  Not to mention Dragon Shifters are just plain fun! I was not disappointed one bit with Fallen Ashes.  I will suggest reading the free novella that is the prequel to this story, The Challenge.  There is a link to it in the beginning of Fallen Ashes.

Every book I’ve read from Walsh, are truly unique and utterly her own.  She has a remarkable gift of being able to take a theme that everyone has heard of; be it dragon shifter or werewolves and spin it to something truly original and unique to her writing style.  I honestly think I would even give a vampire book a try if she tackled one.  And I am loathed to read those at this stage in my life. LOL

The story between Fallon and Saber was extremely enjoyable with a lot of action and some steamy chemistry.  The story started out fast paced and just kept going.  I really hope Walsh continues with this world and maybe we will see stories with the guards?  This is a world I want more of....Sara

Did I like it- yes. Did I love it – no.

I am a bit conflicted about this book. While the story line was interesting and Saber and Fallon are appealing characters several things bothered me:
For someone who are so kick-ass, they sure get beat up a lot
With all the Noah’s villainy, that particular resolution flopped like a ruined soufflé
The entire big reveal at the end was really anticlimactic and a bit too glib for me.

In saying all that, this was an entertaining read.

How could she hate him and want to jump his bones at the same time? 5 FALLEN STARS

A magical time—a world of possibilities within reach. WOW! This is one helluva DRAGONTACULAR story! Fallen Ashes and then some! Some giggles, some smiles, some tears, some heartbreak, some heartwarming, some intensity, some secrets, some frustration, some love and some more, MUCH MORE too! I ABSO-FLAMING-LUTELY love, Love, LOVE this book by The Creator herself T.F. Walsh! Immediately I was drawn into the Portal where I lost a night's sleep, but WOW! Was it EVER worth it! I have Fallen heart deep into Ashes, wholly, utterly and completely consumed – mind, body, spirit, soul & heart! Both Fallen and Saber are such amazing ASHETASTIC characters, it's hard to not love them both. Add in the magical bond linking them together, their immediate dislike for each other (or is it their intense, inexplicable feelings for each other?) and the deadline looming over them, and you just know you are in for one hilarious, hot, entertaining & royally spellbinding Fated & Forbidden adventure like no other!! I am surprised that the sparks flying between them didn't start fires where ever they went! Of course half of the fun was their bickering and the trouble they got into at the beginning! I love, Love, LOVE how everything happened at whirlwind speed, but one irrevocable truth was inescapable - it also felt like time was almost frozen in place while the magic & beauty of T.F.'s deeply enriched descriptive storytelling brought every aspect of this FIRELICIOUS story to full blown life in my mind’s eye!! Just like that trick photography where the person is frozen in position while the camera rotates around him, bringing all of the surroundings to life around them. I have read T.F. Walsh's Wulfkin Legacy series and BEYOND love, Love, LOVED them, so I was eager to read something else written by her to see if that same magic would capture me here... HOLY LAST DRAGON FIRE, did it EVER!! T.F.'s phenomenal talent combined with her genuine and exceptional gift have once again created a SHIFTACULAR World for me to be transported into, to see, feel, experience and live as her complex characters and one that I NEVER wanted to leave! With her magical and beautiful writing, this story becomes MORE! I was truly swept away on the wings of a dragon! “I think love is like finding a new book and getting lost in the story. Finding something so beautiful that it touches your soul.”

I am excited to read all of the Fated & Forbidden books in this uniquely & super creative multi-author paranormal series! I highly recommend reading Kallysten's free prequel – The Challenge - beforehand. Not only is it a great story but it kicks off the series and explains WHY this is all happening and why it's happening to these individuals!

Paranormal, action, and romance elements come together in another winner by T.F. Walsh. This author always spins amazing tales of different creatures/clans coming together in wonderfully built worlds. I also enjoyed the dialogue and relationship between Fallen and Saber.

Fallen Ashes
Fated & Forbidden by T.F. Walsh

Fallen and Saber must find their life mate...they've been bound together and they don't know why...but the Creators have branded them with a dragon insignia... What Saber doesn't know is that Fallen is a dazmeu, a dragon shifter. Will she ever become a full dragon?

What an exciting read that kept me on the edge of my seat. I recommend this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Saber and Fallen Have been magically linked, both awake from the same dream from the creators telling them they are part of the chosen and have 1 month to find their soul mates or both the magical world and earth will end.
Finding themselves locked in cells each guarding their own secret and with individual agendas of revenge against Noah, an evil half-Drae who siphones the magic of others till they're drained to death, can Saber and Fallen find a way to break the bond put in place by who?, the creators ? Noah ? One things for sure, they're gonna have to find a way to work together if they want to survive.
This author has created a fantastic world of magical beings that can cross the veil from Tapestry to the human realm and when Fallen finds herself in the place she's been hiding from her whole life, she finds much more than she could ever have imagined, with some twists and unexpected surprises, this is a book you'll want to read.

Another winner by the fabulous author T.F. Walsh. I adore what she always writes. This was no different. She created a Beautiful story that wasn’t your typical love story. I loved the direction she took it and the unique twists she always puts in her stories. This is a story about a woman who is the last of her kind. She hides herself as she was always told not to let others see who she was. She ends up getting kidnapped and meets an attractive hard head. With things constantly happening you will not want to put this down. I adored the characters and definitely want to know more about where they end up.

Definitely give this book a shot you will not regret it.

Great series of danger, villains and a great romance. Add in dragons and what could be better? Each story in the series can easily be read as a standalone, but after one you will want to read them all.

I loved that both the man and woman had very strong characters. They had their own beliefs and secrets. The villains aren't always who you suspect. Can't wait to read all of the series.

Fallen Ashes captivated me within the first few pages.  Dragon shifters, crossing over between worlds, a myriad of mythical characters, animals and  creatures along with two main characters that are intriguing, funny and sexy makes this story a great read.  Fallen and Saber had both dealt with traumatic circumstances in their lives that shaped their character and personalities.  Fallen doesn’t have the heart to take a life, she believes all life is sacred, even the evil ones.  Saber was created to be an assassin, he had trained for years with the Queen’s army.  He was a protector, period.  He would do what he had to do to protect himself and those he loves.  The shenanigans between Fallen and Saber are so funny, especially when she thinks that he doesn’t need to beat up or kill everyone that crosses his path.  She thinks he’s a big bully and a brute.  Fallen tries to convince Saber they need to make a plan to rescue his step-father and as the words are leaving her mouth, Saber is already kicking in the door.  Add to that the fact that they are bond together with an invisible bond that keeps them from physically being more than 20 feet apart, their interactions are hilarious.  I enjoyed reading Fallen Ashes all the way to the very last page.  Each character wove an intricate part into the storyline, making it all the more interesting.  Do Fallen and Saber save the world?  You must read it to find out!

This book is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone. Fallen and Saber are prisoners of the Collector, and Fallen has woken up from a dream where she has been marked by the Creator and must find her mate or everything and everyone will be destroyed. While escaping, she rescues Saber as well and realizes he, too, has a mark. On the run from the Collector, they find out each other’s secrets and hope they won’t betray each other. Because their secrets are deadly, and their lives are hang in the balance, not just from the Collector, but from the Queen. Will they find their mates and save the world, or will the Collector recapture them? Ms. Walsh is such a great writer, and I have become a huge fan. Her characters are so fleshed-out, I always feel I know them very well. This book was also filled with great action and a great plot. I also love that Fallen was a dragon shifter! I wish we had seen more of that, but that’s just something I wish, not something bad with the book. If you like paranormal romance, you really need to try this book! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Fallen wakes up in a cell. She just had a dream about fated mates and the end of the world coming if she doesn't found her fated mate in four weeks. In the next cell is Saber and she is magical bound to him. He is a guardian but was trying to safe his stepfather. They get out with each others help and since they can't leave each others side they go on a mission together.

It was a good read, with lots of action and magic beings. They both want to bring down the evil Noah who killed Fallen her mother and has Saber stepfather in his cells.
They both find out secrets about each other, but they also grow closer together, but how will this work when they find their fated mates? There are some very nice suprises at the end, but I won't tell about them, because that would spoil to much.
Although this is book 6 in a series, you can read it as a stand alone, I did too.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

This fell about a 3.7 for me. I went in completely new with this stand alone that's a part of the Fated and Forbidden series (which is a seriously cool idea, by the way) and while the beginning started a little slow and confusing for me, I quickly got attached. Saber was like a dark humor you couldn't get enough of. Poor, sweet guy. And he was a killing machine when focused. I liked Fallen, as she was pretty cool with her moral compass but fiery temper. I had a few slow moments, and I think it was just a personal thing with the book's writing style. Didn't flow as well as the other work I'm used to, but it was still good. Definitely made me want to know if they all make it or not.

Fallen Ashes

Fallen and Saber find themselves locked up in adjoining cells after what they think is a really bad dream. But they both have a burn mark on the inside of their wrists by the creators giving them a clue as to who their life mate should be, and they have to find them and fall in love before the next blood moon. Will they find their mates trying to escape from prison and with everything else that is going on? Or will they be the ones who don't make it, leaving everyone magical to turn into humans whether they like it or not? I love this series and can't wait to read the next book. Five stars.

This was an interesting story for me. I have not read much paranormal and have never read one along this lines. I was a little confused at first but the story line came along pretty fast. I enjoyed reading about Fallen and Saber. I loved how Saber's true form comes out towards the end. I was so happy to find out that Fallen did still have family after her believing she was on her own her whole life. This is the first book I have read by this author. It will not be the last.

Fallen is given the seemingly impossible task of finding her mate before the blood moon. Oh and she also has to escape from an unknown prison while bound to another prisoner. Fallen’s path isn’t an easy one to walk but at least she has Saber to keep her company. Or maybe not. The pair aren’t exactly fast friends but they’ll need to work together to achieve their goals.

I enjoyed this story, particularly the way in which the relationship between Fallen and Saber changes. Both doubt their ability to find their soul mate for different reasons; Fallen because they have a limited time and the consequences of failure weighs heavily on her shoulders, and Saber because he’s not convinced the dream was real or that he even has a soul mate out there to find. I particularly enjoyed their bickering as it helped to break the tension of the rather dangerous situations they found themselves in. If I had to pick something I loved most about Fallen it would be her heart as she’s incredibly kind and tender hearted, while still maintaining a strong sense of self; which is important because being kind doesn’t mean you have to be a pushover. Saber is a little rougher around the edges but he too has a kind heart, even if he is dealing with a rather disturbing, life changing revelation. Fortunately for them, everything isn’t what it seems and if they can learn to get along, they might just be able to achieve their goals.

The story itself is a rather interesting premise, with lots of little twists and turns. It’s a story that’s well told and Walsh creates a rather spectacular fantasy world which you will likely wish to return to. The only real issue I had with this book is that it needs some editing as there is the odd problem with sentence structure and missing words. But if you can look past that, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Fallen Ashes is my first T. F. Walsh book but I guarantee that it will not be my last. I am a big paranormal fan and this was a wonderful story about the world that exists right next to ours. I have always loved the idea that there is a mirror world to ours and this was a perfect exploration of that world. It is full of adventure and romance that will hook any reader but especially those who love this genre as much as I do. There seems to be a resurgence in this genre, it used to be about shifters, witches and the like, now it is about the Fae, or in this book the Drae.
Fallen is trying to live her life under the radar of the Queen. She is on a mission to right a wrong done to her many years ago, while at the same time save humanity against an evil man. She wants revenge and she is willing to do anything to get it but of course it isn’t that easy. The Creators have a different plan for her. Saber ironically is after the same thing as Fallen, just for a different reason. As he is on the run from his destiny their paths cross and the adventure begins.
I really enjoyed the escape that this book provided. It is always refreshing to delve into another world and see what may come out of it. This was no exception, I was instantly sucked into the tragedy of these two characters as they try to figure out how they can both accomplish what needs to be done. As two people who are used to dealing with things on their own, to team up brings a new challenge and new insight into who they are. I loved the chase and the urgency I felt as I read this book and I look forward to diving into this world as often as possible.

Fallen is the dragon shifter in Tapestry and wakes up in a cell - but also appears to be bound to a Queen's Guardian named Saber who is in the next door cell. Fallen is on everyone's hit list but now has a marking that means she has to find her life mate in four weeks or else life in her world will be destroyed.

Saber has a dark secret that turned him into a shadow assassin which has resulted in him being exiled from the Kingdom. He somehow has to get free, rescue his step-rather and remove this binding to the woman in the cell next door before he can prove his innocence.

Can Saber and Fallen be able to resolve all of their problems, survive AND save the rest of the world?

This was a lovely story which was well written. It was told with a good level of detail in order to make it easy to understand the thoughts, feelings and emotions that the characters were going through. I was definitely pushing for them to succeed at the end of the book.

Fallen is the last of her kind, a dazmeu, a dragon. She saw her mother killed when she was little, so hiding what she is was instilled in her. Saber is an Ash, a killer. The two become bound to each other and are hunted. What an interesting story. This kept me so interested, I could not stop reading. I loved the premise and found it really enjoyable. The back and forth and arguing between Fallen and Saber was great and sometimes even very funny. The descriptive writing was wonderfully thorough and I could easily picture what was going on and even where they were. All the characters were so well-drawn it was easy to love or hate them. I found this story to be well-written and very interesting and I highly recommend it if you want a really good story to read. I'm looking forward to more in this series and more from this author.

Sucks you in and keeps your attention.

It took me three tries to read the book. I love the cover, the synopsis was interesting, but didn't really grab your attention. It starts in the middle of this other world. While there is a glossary before you start reading, it plunges in before you can remember the meaning of the first word. The prologue was just preparation for that first plunge. And it's a good one, and not the only. I love when a book can still surprise me, and not did it! The little revelation at the end, I did not see that coming! Can't wait to read the others! Thank you so much for this wonderful step out of my world and into theirs I enjoyed it! I did receive a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
