Now that her mask has finally slipped…

Ginny O’Toole has spent a lifetime repaying her family’s debt, and she’s finally at the end of her servitude with one last job. Of course, it couldn’t be easy. After stealing the computer files that will free her once and for all, she finds herself on the run from a pissed off vampire who has never fallen for her helpless act. A deadly predator too sexy for his own good. If he doesn’t knock it off, he’s going to see just how powerful she can really be.

He won’t be satisfied until she’s completely bare.

Theo Reese had been more than irritated at the beautiful yet helpless witch he’d known a century ago, thinking she was just useless fluff who enjoyed messing with men’s heads. The second he discovers she’s a ruthless thief determined to bring down his family, his blood burns and his interest peaks, sending his true nature into hunting mode. When he finds her, and he will, she’ll understand the real meaning of helpless.

Theo Reese & Ginny O’Toole

So, after the story of Kayrs brothers and their closest friends which served as the backbone of “Dark Protectors” series, the story of the three Reese brothers follows.
The three vampire brothers are presented in three short novels from the 1001 Nights series:

1. Teased for Chalton Reese
2. Tricked for Jared Reese
3. Tangled for Theo Reese

Out of the three Reese Family Novellas, “Tangled” is definitely my favorite one. Ginny O’Toole, the female leading character who appeared first in “Tricked” as the ex-girlfriend of Jared is the main reason for my preference.
Ginny is a witch and a thief. She managed to trick the three Reese brothers and she has stolen a file that could ruin the Reese family. Before the book finishes, she will also steal Theo’s heart.

Theo has never been fooled by the fragile appearance of Ginny. He knew that she is hiding a lot of cunning strength and many secrets that the inexperienced and in love brother Jared did not see a few hundred years ago when they almost mated.
But Theo has definitely noticed her:

Her breasts were full, her hair naturally white-blonde, her skin flawless, and her stature petite. Three hundred years ago, she’d been too thin for popularity. Fifty years ago, she’d been the ideal woman. Now, in the day and age of curves and diversity, she stood out as almost unreal. As more of a doll than a real woman. An air of fragility clung to her, in direct opposition to strong and fierce modern woman.

I loved how the definition of beauty has changed through years, but Ginny still has remained beautiful.

The book is short, but packed with adventure. All three Reese brothers will be around. Bad shifters, good vampires, explosions and shootings again, Uncle Benjamin and the King will be really angry, bank robberies, a really hot mating. Super addition to the series!

***** 4 Stars *****

Can be read as a standalone.

Ginny is a witch backed into a corner. The only way she can get free is to steal and deliver some important files.

Theo Reese is a strong vampire that has always been attracted to Ginny. When he discovers the reasons why Ginny steals from his family, he promises to help her and to keep her safe.

I really enjoyed the characters and plot. Ginny is a feisty independent woman with a backbone, and Theo is a sexy guy that will do anything to help his loved ones. The romance between them was steamy, but not over the top.

Tangled is a fun quick read filled with romance and danger. I've actually never read any books from this series, but now that I've read this novella, I'm definitely going to read them all soon.

4.5 - "No more lying..." Stars!

Rebecca Zanetti takes readers back to the Dark Protectors universe with her third 1001 Nights novella. Theo Reese finally gets his HEA, and as you would expect from this series, the path too true love is filled with explosions, fights and the odd sexy interlude.

This series holds a very special place in my heart, escaping into each book helped me through a very hard time in my life a few years ago, so it always makes me happy to get to return to it, in whatever small measure, because Rebecca has created such a depth of story, that contains a wealth of unforgettable characters, who after all this time feel like catching up with old friends, that I always have a smile on my face with every extension to the adventure.

He was too smart, too strong… too male.

Ginny O’Toole has been a bit of a villain in the scope of the three novellas that the author has provided to give us the Reese brothers their women, so to get the insider information as to why she has acted as she has in the past and her motivations for that gave good depth to the developing relationship between her and Theo, a relationship that started to develop many years before when she unceremoniously dumped his brother to mate with somebody else. To say tensions between her and the Reese brothers are high would be an understatement, not helped by the fact she stole the hard copy of the families holdings, financials and deep, dark secrets in the previous novella.

"Things are about to get interesting."

Theo is on the hunt for her, and the information, and as you would expect with Rebecca’s story-lines, all is not as it initially seems, well apart from the fact these two have crazy chemistry, which Theo is not afraid to use in order to extract information from our wiley witch.

"I’m not good with mushy words… but I want this. I want you."

I won’t say much else about the plot, this isn’t a long read, and I would like to leave the element of surprise for the reader, but I cannot finish this review without adding my total elation in knowing that the author is returning next year with more 1001 Nights stories and still set in the Dark Protectors universe. Which stands to reason really seeing as the Planekite problem is still very much unresolved.

"Peace ain’t gonna last. Somethings coming…"

Theo & Ginny's story:

This is definitely my favorite of the Reese brothers. I went in expecting to not like it because of Ginny's deception in Jared and Veronica's book, but I never should have doubted RZ. Once she revealed why Ginny did what she did, it changed my whole view of her. I loved the interactions with Dage and Benny. Seeing previous characters pop in and out of book series just adds to my overall enjoyment of the book. RZ has such a talent for writing fun characters.

Ah, this series. It's like a shiny new toy and comfort food all wrapped up in one. I can't get enough of it and it warms my heart to hear that there will be more to come!

What do a famous thief and an upright warrior of the Realm have in common? Nothing except passion and a love for family, which is what TANGLED has in abundance. This is a fast and exciting read with everything you want in a book: passion, action, drama and family.

For Theo Reese and Ginny O’Toole, their moment has finally arrived. After dancing around each other for decades, Ginny has done the one thing that could destroy the Reese family and impact the Realm, and Theo needs to make things right.

Ginny needs to stay ahead of Theo until she completes her life-or-death mission but unfortunately for her, Theo is relentless and focused, plus he's a distraction and the only man who has never fallen for her wiles.

However, things are not what they seem and both Ginny and Theo have to work together to find a resolution to their problems that will satisfy them both. It's time for Theo to finally admit that his decades-old anger at Ginny was about his feelings for her, not her hurting his brother and Ginny has to face up to the fact that she's been running from her feelings for Theo for just as long.

The book isn't a lengthy one but it sure packs in a lot in these few pages and is one you'll want to finish in one go. Ms. Zanetti has a winning formula with this series and everything she writes is a must-read. It's always fun to catch up with old favorite characters and meet new ones and I can't wait for the next installment.

Another great read from Rebecca Zanetti! This is the third book in her spin off of the Dark Protectors. Each has been a novella centered around the Reece brothers and I’ve loved every one of them.

After meeting Ginny in the previous book, I wasn’t really sure if I would like her. I knew there was more to her than what she portrayed, but she had something going on with Jared years ago before breaking his heart. I just didn’t trust her going into this. I should’ve known better. RZ has never let me down and again she showed me her true talent when she was able to redeem Ginny in my eyes in a completely believable manner.

Theo was able to see beyond the face she showed to the world and liked everything he saw. Together they were a fun, sexy couple that were determined to trump the bad guy and find their happy ever after. I loved seeing Chalton and Jared again and there was even a surprise visit from a new character that we hadn’t met yet and I am very excited and hope to see more of this same character in future books.

I believe this can be read as a standalone as it does give info needed from previous books, but I would encourage you to read them all. It’s an amazing world and an incredible journey.

My Review:

Tangled is a novella in the Dark Protectors and is the next brother of the mini series within this series. I loved seeing this story come to life. This romance we saw teaser for in the previous book and I was curious to see how this would play how and the heroine to be redeemed. Well it helps if you have the hero on the hunt for her and who is a dominant alpha male and won't let her get away with crap and can see right through her exterior personality. At first you wonder if the hero is crazy. lol But the heroine is a great liar, she has good reasons for what she does but she does have a redemption arc and needed to have one. I do wish there had been some grovel from her. (But I know that is asking these authors to write the impossible lol) What I did love was seeing the hero stand up to her and not let her get away with deception. The plot was fascinating and I was curious to see how the villain would get taken down in this one. It was a blast seeing the final brother get his story here and the chemistry and angsty was fully satisfying here.

There’s a fine line between love and hate. Theo Reese and Ginny O’Toole have known each other for centuries and he’s hated her for picking his brother over him. A century later she has something that can ruin his family and he vows to get it back. Ginny has one job left and she’ll be free of her duet, know,if she can stay a heas of the sexy Theo she will be free and clear. When he catches up with her things are not as they seem and those lines start to blur and they are working against the clock.
Sexy and full,of some great plot twists.

Ginny and Theo made a perfect pairing with amazeballs chemistry, witty intelligence, and amusing banter I thoroughly enjoyed reading! A nice slice of action and suspense balanced the romance and kept the storyline hopping at a nice clip. Dage and Emma make an appearance-as does Theo’s family, including an understandably mad Uncle Benny.

I’ve enjoyed Zanetti’s 1001 Dark Knight spin off stories from the Dark Protector series, but Tangled is definitely my favorite! The story was a perfect mixing bowl of steam, sass, humor, and action! I can’t wait to see where the DP series is going in 2018!!

This was my first book in this series though I love the paranormal romanced by the author. And It was a delight to read.
Ginny O'Toole is a villain and a thief and she has stolen something important from Theo Reese. He is a formidable vampire and will go to any lengths to get it back from her. It's a fast paced story where actions starts from the very beginning. We meet the other Reese brothers as well and it's a thrilling read.
Amidst all the chaos is Ginny's and Theo's story. They have been attracted to each other for years but now in such close proximity, they let go. It hot, sexy and just right.
I loved this book and would love to go back and read the other stories in this series.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A novella that I was very hesitant to read because I had found Ginny unbearable in the previous book and I found the fact that Theo ended up with his brother's ex disturbing ... And finally, on the three novellas about the Reese brothers, this is one of my favorites =D I loved Ginny (famous thief and con artist with a big heart =D), the plot was deeper and I really enjoyed seeing Theo and Ginny arguing and falling in love =D
This was definitely the best of the three Reese brother novellas, IMO. On that note, why’d these three get their own books anyway? If I hadn’t been binging on this series I wouldn’t have even remembered Chalton from an earlier installment.
Kudos to Zanetti for changing my feelings about Ginny. I did not like her at all and wasn’t happy when I realized she was getting her HEA, but I couldn’t bring myself to skip the book. I still dislike her preferred method of manipulating others, but she grew on me and these two make a good couple.
Wow just wow. Things are not always what they seem.
That's exactly how Ginny O'Tool likes it. Fragile, breakable, volunarable. Yeah right! Theo Reece sees right through Ginny. And that's what makes them a perfect match.
Theo is such a delicious badass.
That ending left it wide open for whatever is coming next. Yes Rebecca is going back to the original Dark Protectors and I'm so freaking excited!!!!
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal.
OMG, by far the best of the three novellas featuring the three vampire brothers!!! Theo was sexy but not an over the top aggressive dick and I really liked Ginnie… very surprising since she was not a good person in the last book. She could be tough but she was still sweet, not constantly calling the hero names or arguing with him for almost the entire book.
This is the final book for the Reese Brothers. It ends with the baby brother Theo finding his equal. Theo it's the silence deadly one of the brothers. Always be like that, the baby is the crazy one or the most deadly. Theo's unofficial job is to protect the family. That is reason why he is trying really hard to get back the Benjamin file that Ginny, who we met in Tricked. Ginny knows how to play people however Theo has never been the person to fall for her Damsel in Distress Act.
Their relationship was funny to me. They had this cat and mouse game that was just a mess, in a good way. The two of them together are both naughty individuals. When you read their sexy time it was just funny but also sensual. You can tell that their life together will always be fun and never dull. The story had action from the very beginning and did not let up until the very end. For such a short book it sure did gave you a lot of action and drama.
I did not like the epilogue at all for this book. The way that it ended it made it seem as though something huge is going to happen however Uncle Benny, who everybody is afraid of, knows or has a feeling that something is coming. Also I feel like Uncle Benny should be getting a book since he's the final Reese that is still unmated. However I do know that the store or will be going back to the Kayrs family. I feel like the story or is not complete.
I'm giving this ⛦⛦⛦⛦ because I feel like this story arc order is uncomplete; not until Uncld Benny gets his book.
Rating ~ 3.5- 4 stars
Ginny O’Toole is a thief, she’s on the run trying to save herself and the only remaining family she has. Theo Reese never brought the sweet and helpless act Ginny presented to the world and now she’s disappeared with the flash drive that would cause a lot harm to his family. Finding her and getting the drive back is Theo’s goal alas emotions are a little difficult to turn off when he finally finds Ginny.
I really liked Theo, I wish we had gotten to know him and his brothers a bit more but I digress. Theo and Ginny used to be friends and their attraction to each other is clear. Both of them see each other without the masks they present to the world and it can be extremely aggravating (in Ginny’s case). I liked them together, they were cute, Theo didn’t take any of Ginny’s bullshit and saw straight through her. And Theo never thought he’d want to mate with someone so *early* in his life but what can a guy do when he ends up falling for a complex and fascinating woman like Ginny.
An enjoyable novella of a world that I have come to really enjoy and look forward to much more which is hinted by the author. It has action, romance, humour and stubborn people. What’s not to like?
Recensione a cura di NoOne per Feel The Book
Chi mi conosce sa già quanto io ami Rebecca Zanetti e i suoi vampiri, o almeno si è sentito dire di dover leggere assolutamente i libri scritti da lei. La sua serie Dark Protectors, insieme alle serie spin off che ne sono derivate, sono secondo me tra le migliori nel genere paranormal romance. Adoro soprattutto i suoi vampiri, ho un debole per loro, ma in questi libri troviamo anche mutaforma, demoni, witch (streghe e stregoni non mi piace proprio come termine). Il mondo che ha creato per l’ambientazione delle sue storie è straordinario, con dei protagonisti molto sexy, pieni di carisma e personaltà e ironia, a cui è impossibile resistere, ma soprattutto mi piace come scrive questa autrice. Il mio per lei è stato “amore a prima lettura” con Fated, il primo libro della serie Dark Protectors e il suo Talen.
A distanza di anni e molti libri, sono felice di poter dire di aver trovato in Tangled la stessa magia che ho trovato nei libri precedenti.
Tangled è un racconto breve, che fa parte della collana 1,001 Dark Nights, e come tutti i racconti che ne fanno parte, può essere letta come storia autoconclusiva. È una novella breve, ma completa e Theo e Ginny non hanno nulla da invidiare alle precedenti coppie a cui ha dato vita Ms Zanetti.
Certamente conoscendo tutti i libri precedenti si possono cogliere più sfumature, soprattutto riguardo alle comparse di alcuni personaggi secondari, legati alle vite di Theo e Ginny, come Dage Kayrs, il Re del Reame di tutte le creature soprannaturali, o gli stessi fratelli di Theo, i Reese, che a loro volta hanno già incontrato nei libri precedenti le loro compagne predestinate.
Come ho già detto ho decisamente un debole per i vampiri di queste serie, e Theo Reese mi è piaciuto tantissimo.
Dominante, protettivo, sexy, astuto, leale e senza scrupoli quando serve. Durante la terribile guerra avvenuta tra le diverse fazioni nel mondo degli immortali, è stato una pedina fondamentale al servizio del Re, per dare la caccia ai nemici e carpire da loro informazioni fondamentali, per poi arrivare alla vittoria.
Ginny, la protagonista femminile è una witch, ma anche una ladra, molto brava nel manipolare il sesso opposto per ottenere quello che vuole, ma Theo che la conosce da secoli non si è mai fatto abbindolare dal suo fascino o dalle sue scene da donna indifesa.
Anzi si è sempre mantenuto piuttosto distaccato da lei proprio per questo suo comportamento, pur provando per Ginny una forte attrazione fisica. Solo che questa volta non può più ignorarla, visto che Ginny ha rubato un file che contiene delle informazioni che potrebbero distruggere l’intera famiglia dei Reese.
Theo deve darle la caccia e recuperare le informazioni a ogni costo e con qualsiasi mezzo.
I precedenti che ci sono stati tra di loro hanno permesso di far entrare subito nel vivo la storia, sin dal loro primo incontro. Il comportamento di Theo nei confronti di Ginny, sfrontato e diretto, è stato molo divertente da leggere e poi, come sempre, le protagoniste femminili di questi libri, sono donne che sono delle vere e proprie combattenti, intelligenti e furbe e mi piacciono un sacco.
La chimica tra Theo e Ginny è esplosiva e la trama del racconto ben costruita, dando vita a una storia breve, ma ricca, piena di azione, passione e i confronti tra i due sono sempre brillanti, divertenti e sexy. La famiglia è un altro elemento che fa sempre la differenza nei libri di questa autrice. Il legame profondo che unisce tra loro i vari componenti delle famiglie Reese e Kayrs, oppure il modo in cui scherzano e si punzecchiano sono imperdibili, ma di fronte al nemico diventano un muro invalicabile da superare.
Se non avete mai letto le serie paranormal romance di Rebecca Zanetti, DOVETE farlo. Sono sicura che i fratelli Kayrs e i Reese non ve ne faranno pentire!
People who know me already know as well how much I love Rebecca Zanetti and her vampires, or at least I've told them to read her books. Her Dark Protectors series, along with the spin-off series, are among the best stories in the paranormal romance genre. I especially love her vampires, I have a soft spot for them, but in these books we also find shifters, demons, witches.The world she created for her stories is extraordinary, with characters full of charisma and personality, hot and funny, it's almost impossible to resist them, but above all I love how this author writes. With her was "love at first reading" with Fated, the first book in the Dark Protectors series and her Talen.
After years and many books, I'm happy to say I found the same magic of the previous books also in Tangled.
It's a short-novel which is part of the 1,001 Dark Nights, and like all of its novellas, it can be read as a standalone story.
It's short but complete and Theo and Ginny have nothing to envy with previous couples written by Ms Zanetti.
Of course, knowing all of the previous books you can pick up more nuances, especially with regard of the second characters, that are part of Theo and Ginny's life, such as Dage Kayr, King of the Realm of all the supernatural creatures, or Theo's brothers,the Reese, who they had already met before in their books their mates.
As I have already said, I'm love with the vampires of these series, and I really like Theo Reese as well.
Dominant, protective, sexy, smart, honest and ruthless when it's needed.
During the terrible war between the various factions in the immortals' world, he was a master in hunting down the enemies to serve his King and to gain informations.
Ginny, the female protagonist, is a witch, but also a thief, very good at manipulating the opposite sex to get what she wants, but Theo who knows her for centuries has never been cluttered by her charm or her defenseless woman acts.
In fact, he has always been rather detached from her for her behavior, even though he felt a strong physical attraction for her.
Only this time he can no longer ignore her, since Ginny stolen a file that contains information that could destroy the entire Reese family.
Theo must hunt her down and retrieve the informations at any cost and by any means.
Their past allowed us to immediately enter into the story since their first meeting. Theo's behavior toward Ginny, cocky and direct, was fun to read and then, as always, the female protagonists of these books are women who are real fighters, smart and cunning and I like it a lot.
The chemistry between Theo and Ginny is explosive and the plot of the story is well-written, giving rise to a short but rich story, full of action, passion and the banters between the Theo and Ginny are always brilliant, funny and hot. The family is another element that always makes the difference in the books of this author.
The deep bond between the various members of the Reese and Kayr families, or the way they tease each other, but in the face of the enemy, they become an impossible wall to overcome.
If you haven't read any paranormal romance series by Rebecca Zanetti, you MUST do it.
I'm sure you won't regret reading about the Kayr and the Reese brothers!
REVIEW: TANGLED by Rebecca Zanetti is installment 7.8 in her contemporary, adult Dark Protectors paranormal, romance series, and the latest novella in the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights. This is witch and professional thief Ginny O’Toole, and vampire Theo Reese’s story line. TANGLED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Ginny and Theo) TANGLED focuses on the recovery of a stolen hard drive that threatens to expose important information about the Reese family history. Enter Ginny O’Toole, witch, thief and currently in possession of the hard drive in question. Theo is determined to destroy Ginny O’Toole, unaware that there is already a price on her head. What ensues is the enemies to lovers, quick building relationship between our leading couple, and the Reese family battle with a familiar enemy who has targeted the Reese’s in a centuries old vendetta.
The secondary and supporting characters include Theo’s brother Chalton ( Teased 7.5) and Jared Reese (Tricked 7.75), as well as the requisite evil shifter Saul Libscombe. The vampire and shifter families have been at war for years, and now Saul is determined to seek justice for sins of long ago. There are also several cameo appearances by the King and his Queen.
The relationship between Theo and Ginny is an enemies to lovers romance that sees another vampire find his mate. Ginny O’Toole has been the bane of Theo’s existence for a number of years but his attraction to Ginny can only be explained as fated mates. Ginny and Theo’s story line progresses through the three 1001 Dark Nights/Dark Protector novellas-Teased, Tricked and Tangled.
TANGLED is a fast paced, engaging story line where a centuries old vampire finally claims the woman that calls to his heart. The premise is intriguing; the characters are charismatic; the romance is fated and passionate.
