About the author

Joss Stirling is a British novelist. Her first novel under this name was the internationally successful, Finding Sky, which is followed by five others in the same series entering into the savant world of young people with special powers. Central to the story are the Benedict Brothers, seven talented guys from Colorado.

In a second series, Struck, Joss begins a new world of detective romance. The first three parts are: Struck (#1) and Stung (#2), and Shaken (#3) and Scorched (#4). Joss introduces readers to four new heroes - Kieran Storm, Nathan Hunter, Joe Masters and Damien Castle, who all attention the Young Detective Agency. The first part, Struck, won the Romantic Novel of the Year 2015 in the UK.

Her new series, PERIL, a paranormal love story set in the near future, is out 13 July 2017.

Joss lives in Oxford, England. She is married with three children.


Stirling also publishes under two pen names: Julia Golding and Eve Edwards.

Not bad, just... meh.
Nice seeing Xav's POV though I would have liked more of his interaction with Crystal, but it's too short to really add anything to my perception of him.

Tristemente le pongo esta calificación porque la verdad yo esperaba más de esta historia, Xav es mi personaje favorito.

Conocemos a un Xav joven que demuestra que bajo su apariencia bromista es un chico que se preocupa por los demás .

Honestamente yo quería saber más de lo que pasó en Venecia hasta que finalmente Crystal logra entablar la confección de almas gemelas. Después de todo los libros anteriores es decir la historia contada por Zed y por Yves terminan justo ahí, por lo que obviamente pensé que este libro iba a ser igual .... Entonces leo esto y me pone mal.

No niego que está interesante, pero me decepciono un poco.

Mmmmm, creo que a diferencia de las historias cortas de los otros libros esta me pareció un poco irrelevante e innecesaria, sentí que no me aportó realmente nada a la trama del libro principal, lo cual me decepciona un poco porque Xav me gustó mucho y no sé, esperaba conocerlo un poco mas y un poco de sus primeras impresiones con Crystal, lastimosamente no fue así😢

This short story is completely unnecessary. It didn't add anything to Xav's character or story. But the writing wasn't bad and it didn't ruin "Seeking Crystal". The first part is about a younger Xav, that part was okay, but unnecessary and the second part was about his first encounters with Crystal. I could've lived without that part, because I'm not a fan of Crystal. I had problems connecting to her, which is a reason why I didn't like "Seeking Crystal" as much as "Finding Sky" or "Stealing Phoenix". But the story is for free and not that long, so readers who liked Xav and Crystal might give it a try!

Loved reading from Xav's point of view! It was over to soon tho, I was really hoping for some more scene's with Crystal. Still enjoyed it very much!! I really hope there will be more books like this :)

I didn't really think the start of this was necessary. I understood it during the second half of the story but it may have been too long. Pushing this aside, the second half was so good. I love getting the Benedicts perspective on the stories that unfold.

Punto de vista de Xav en sus primeros encuentros con Crystal.

Uuuuuuugh.



Sabía, sabía que este libro iba a frustrarme, pero debido a que la historia de Xav es mi favorita, quería saber qué pensó cuando su mundo y el de Crystal chocaron. La verdad es que el resultado fue exactamente el mismo que con los .5 anteriores.



Aunque aprecio el pequeña narración acerca de Xav y su pasado, se siente como un engaño cuando no consigues todo lo demás. Era consciente de que no obtendría demasiado, tal y como pasó con Challenging Zed, Burning Yves, pero en este caso me molestó que ni siquiera se presentara el momento en que Xav sabe que Crystal es su soulfinder. En serio, todavía no puedo creer que uNO DE LOS MOMENTOS MÁS IMPORTANTES NO FUERA MENCIONADO Y TODO LO QUE SE NOS DA ES SU CONVERSACIÓN EN EL AUTO Y A XAV DEJÁNDOLA EN EL AEROPUERTO.



Hubiera preferido mil veces esa escena, a la escena del avión.

Y así como he dicho las dos veces anteriores, este breve relato pudo dar mucho y se queda corto. Preferiría que la autora dejara de sacar estos .5 si el resultado es dejar frustrado al lector. Es poco probable que vuelva a leer una de estas "historias complementarias", y lo pongo en comillas porque es ridículo considerarlas eso. Estoy cansada de no recibir realmente nada sustancioso.

"Teasing Xav" es otro bocado de la serie Benedict, esta vez con el punto de vista de Xavier Benedict, el quinto en la línea de los susodichos.

📖💫 Ah, ese comienzo que tanta controversia causó. Mientras algunos lo odiaron, a mí me pareció... interesante. Me encanta que esta historia se centre en Xav y cómo va familiarizándose con su poder. 😏🔮

Aquella inocente amistad de la infancia, cómo estuvo dispuesto a sacrificarse por su amigo Neil y el uso de su don para lograr que volviera a caminar... ¡eso sí que nos muestra el lado compasivo de Xav!

Aunque, claro, siempre manteniendo su actitud despreocupada y pícara. 🤡❤️

Y no sé si es mi vena fujoshi que se ha apoderado de mí, pero realmente pensé que esta trama tenía el potencial de ser un espectacular "Boys Love" (BL) cuando estos dos crecieran. 🌈💕 Me encantó la pareja de Neil y Xav, aunque sé que nunca será.

Después de todo, Crystal está ahí como su alma gemela. Pero, ¿quién dice que no podemos soñar? 😌✨

Reading Teasing Xav made me miss Xav so much more; he's my absolute favourite out of all the Benedict brothers 💗 I love that this story focuses on Xav familiarising himself with his power. The innocent friendship he had when he was young, how he almost sacrificed himself to help heal the friend and using his power to make a lot of people feel better just showed how compassionate Xav is, despite his carefree and mischievous attitude.

Unlike in Challenging Zed and Burning Yves, Xav was the only one who didn't connect with his soulfinder in his short story, but that was because his situation with Crystal was much more complicated compared to his brothers. But it's the way that he didn't hesitate to go out of his way to help Crystal that made him a wonderful person.

All in all, I love these three short stories that provided more insight to the life of the Benedict brothers. They're forever my favourite siblings 💖

This was ok. It was good, just not as good as the two previous ones. I liked the friendship Xav had with Neil though, and how he saw Crystal. I liked that she was more of a feminist than the others, she likes to be treated equally. But with all these brothers I get the sense that they're not trying to be condescending, they're just trying to be kind and look after the loves of their lives. I mean wouldn't you! I'm disappointed there wasn't the "wow" moment we get with each of the other men though; a little more development would have been nice, but I get that it couldn't happen with how the full novel panned out, they're not together for a while till he actually arrives in Venice so they can't interact.

It's not bad but i wanted to see How Xav reacts to when Crystal connects to him for the first time but we don't see that.
The story starts before the events in Seeking Crystal but we needed to see more.
The story end's before they even realize they are each other soul finders

Xav has always been the second more disastrous son. He is the healer of the Family and the third youngest son. In this book you get to see his perspective in how he met Crystal and I have to tell you that is the sweatest and funniest thing EVERRRR!!
You understand why he is how he is and you get to see how important for him was to become a professional skier.
If you love the Benedict brothers YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!

Amo a Xav, siempre lo digo, es mi hermano Benedict favorito <3
Verlo desde está perspectiva, más suya que de cualquier otro personaje solo me hace adorarlo aún más. También el hecho de tener dos capítulos en los que se indaga de su vida como adolescente y donde aún está en proceso de conocer su don y cómo controlarlo is just magic.
Aparte que el lenguaje de este libro es mucho más simple que los otros dos libros anteriores, así que se me hizo más ameno y fácil de leer.

Another brilliant book that has made me so glad that I read it! It was so nice for the author to dip into Xav's teenage years so that we could see how and why his skiing career couldn't carry on. Again, it was also interesting to get his point of view from when he first met Crystal!

It was nice getting Xav's perspective but it was not really necessary. I would rather have loved a novella from the perspective of the single Benedict brothers after Calling Crystal, like an extended epilogue.
