OMG. The POV was horrible. I never felt connected to the story or characters. The writing completely destroyed my chance of enjoying this novel. In fact, I hesitated to say it, but I'm gonna anyway cuz I can't not. The writing sucked. Majorly. Like...3rd person omnipresent for 4th graders.

Why did I read it?
Despite the writing, the plot intrigued me...hence the 2.5 stars...and that's being nice :)

The writing was so removed from the book's action that I could care less about the OW. The one sex scene between H and OW was described after the fact. But honestly, the H was dating the OW first and didn't exactly break up with her before he scened with the h...so...doesn't that kinda make the h the OW?? The H/OW don't have sex again after the H/h meet.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive when starting this book. I'm kinda picky when it comes to bdsm and this just didn't seem like it would be within those parameters. But I have to say, Chance did it yet again. I "Took a Chance" and was pleasantly surprised by the engaging characters. Ethan was definitely a change from the alpha males Deacon, Jackson, and his other male leads. But I was NOT disappointed.
While this was a 4 star read for me, I just wanted more. It ended so quickly and I wanted more! My favorite scene by far is on the boat. Probably one of the hottest scenes I've read.
If you're looking for a fun, not too heavy, low on angst, but pretty hot read, this one is for you.

I gave Grace and Mercy this rating because this story of Ethan and Reagan characters were so inspirational. She was a battered wife, losing a child during her marriage. She turned to BDSM to give her a sense of control. But her life was missing the one thing she longed for. Love.
He was tired of meaningless relationships and was seeking something that would change his life and give him more than an unfulfilled life. He found Lady Grace, a Dominant, and became intrigued by the thought of exploring his boundaries. In Lady Grace he found that he liked the strength, confidence and intelligence she portrayed.
Ethan was taken immediately with Lady Graces personality, her sense of humor, her beauty. The way she challenged him in every way. They went through a rough patch because of a past acquaintance of his, and her inability to trust. Eventually they found their way to a life of passion, tenderness, compassion and what they both were looking for. Their happily ever after. I would read this book again. Very highly recommended. Bravo Chance Carter.

HEART-MELTING & SIZZLING ROMANCE
This titillating tale is one of finding the love that you so desire; the one that challenges you, piques your interest, makes you laugh, keeps your secrets, respects you, accepts you for who you are, and totally satisfies you in every way possible. Witty-dialogue, action, true friendship, suspense, emotional moments, Hollywood drama, scenes that leave you breathless, and hypnotic sensuous romance capture and hold your interest until the end. There is a happy ending but there are obstacles that have to be dealt with until it is reached.
Ethan McLaughlin got lucky when he came to LA. An agent loved is strikingly good looks, and helped him launch an acting career. Now a producer/director he practically works nonstop. He is respected in the Hollywood industry and his charismatic, work ethic and kind demeanor keep him at the top of the industry. Ethan is also one of the most sought after bachelors in Hollywood. Though he has many bed notches he has yet to find a woman who can capture his heart. Not content with his personal life he decides to Google Strong Independent Women. When he sees Lady Grace’s website he is impressed with her Domme persona and decides to experiment to see where it would lead him. Reagan {aka Lady Grace} is stunning, curvaceous, sassy and mysterious. She also has a past that haunts her and keeps her from having loving relationships. They chat face-to-face online, have their first session and the client relationship ends. A romance flourishes but betrayal and greed threaten to tear them apart.
The story is fast paced, wonderfully written and the author immediately grabs you with praiseworthy characters. This story is written with heated passion and vivid scenes. I was pleasantly surprised how well this story fit together and I so loved the tender moments. Ethan is a powerful man, sports a protective temper, but he also has a lot of patience and a gentle soul; that is why he is so liked. You can’t help but adore Reagan, she is wild, sweet, caring and pushes boundaries when it comes to Ethan which is just what he needed. Their romance is filled with devotion and sizzling passion. Tiny spoiler; there is a precious dog in this book named Ragnar, adored him. I loved the conclusion of this story too. The author does show that jumping to hasty conclusions is really a bad idea in relationships; it is imperative to always find out all the facts first to build trust. He also shows that you should not be afraid to go after the things you desire. I found this to be extremely entertaining and I loved it. If you enjoy fantasy romance, this is a terrific book for your library. In the world of fantasy romance, the magic begins with the first thought to paper. {I received an advanced copy of this book; this review is totally done by my own choice}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.

I have to honest here... I have read romance books by men before and they were always lacking something. Sometimes it was emotion. Sometimes it was empathy. Sometimes it was the sheer and utter lack of understanding women. Sometimes it was the incredibly depraved way they portray women. But Chance Carter's newest book, Grace and Mercy, was full and satisfying, and a bit unexpected. Mr. Carter gives a very pleasant view into how some men feel about women. He has such a positive point of view and it comes through his writing wonderfully.
Grace and Mercy is both realistic and fanciful at the same time. And let's face it, isn't that why we read romance books in the first place? Chance writes about strong men paired with equally strong women and shows how it can, not only work, but also be amazing. Of course there will be battles, but life almost demands them and romance requires the highs and lows that go along with those battles. In this book, Ethan and Reagan both have lives that are missing something although neither wants to, or can, admit to what that is. The attraction and connection that happens, right from the start, is filled with passion and humor, yet set the stage for a wonderfully romantic journey.
I started this book at around ten in the evening, thinking it would be a quick read and realized at one thirty the next morning that I wasn’t going to finish it in one night. Grace and Mercy by Chance Carter is so freaking hot, you'll be left in a puddle of lust. If you want a book to get lost in, this is the one for you. A well-written, fast-paced, very enjoyable read packed with suspense, obstacles, betrayal, emotional moments, a haunting past, sexual tension, a Hollywood heartthrob, a strong independent woman, and so much more. Chance Carter writes steamy, sensual, and oh so hot stories that grab you from the very beginning and by the end, you are left breathless.

It is not one of my favorite Chance books. I honestly struggled in the beginning to get into the story. Being a huge fan of Chance's books, I wanted to continue reading to see if it would pick up for me. Sadly it did not. I made it to the end because I hate to not finish a book but still did not feel a connection with Ethan and Reagan.

This is another captivating story from Chance Carter who has a magnificent insight into the relationships between the sexes this story is very emotional romantic suspense Ethan is a Hollywood Star and a Producer and he is working on a new movie and he is dating a woman (Mia) who is only interested in him because of what he can do for her career but wants him to believe that she cares about him and people but he is noticing how she acts when they are in public and when they are alone she seems to be a publicity hound so he knows he wants to find someone who feels the same way he does about life and he wants to marry and have a family he looks on the web one night for strong women and he finds a woman who seems to attract him she is a Domme and knows he likes a little kink he just isn't sure how much because he doesn't know much about BDSM but he feels this woman (Lady Grace) may be able to help him. Reagan is a woman who has been through a terrible marriage after she gets away from her abusive husband she has been hiding behind her Lady Grace persona all this time so she really doesn't have a private life she has her bff that has been with her through every good and bad situation in her life Penny works at the pound and she has introduced Reagan to a black lap Ragnar and he loves Reagan and she him but she cannot take him home but she would love to.She spends lots of time at senior home and would love to have a regular life with a good man but she has found one yet but after talking with Ethan she feels different but when she meets with Ethan after talking with him and finds that she really likes him like she has never ever gone out of character like she did with Ethan and she feels shame and embarrassment but she wants to have some real time with him Ethan knows that there is something special between them and when he goes to pay her she can't except the money because she knows she cannot work with this man because of her feels but she doesn't setup anything with him even though they both want more than a business relationship they both realize they want to explore these feelings. This is a beautiful love story that is worth reading. I am providing an honest ARC review of this ebook.

I absolutely loved this book! It is a little different to Chance’s previous books but he still has definitely out done himself with this one. It still contains a bad boy and a confident and strong women but on a whole different level, it was a great read.
I loved the instant connection Reagan and Ethan had, it led to some very hot scenes between those two. I thought it was well written with a great storyline. I loved how caring they were and went after what they wanted even though it took some time.
I loved how the characters just came to life… well except for Mia, I had a very strong dislike towards her right from the beginning. She was just one of those characters that needed to be strangled… really hard. But other than her, I though everyone else was great.
A fantastic read.

So glad I read this
I cannot say enough good things about this man. He knows just how to get you hot, make you mad at the arrogance of some characters and run you through every emotion you can think of in the same book. I love all his books but this was a little hotter than the others. I'm not usually a fan of these types of books but I'm a loyal fan and decided to give it a Chance and I'm glad I did. This book is a must read and after you read this one make sure you go back and read the other ones. It was so hard for me the write this without giving away the story so get it Now.

This book is a real turn on.... Hollywood star Ethan wants more in life even though he has everything there's something missing like real love, so online he goes and comes across Lady grace who is really Reagan and instantly wants her to be more than his Domme. Throw in some ex girlfriend drama and you have another excellent Chance Carter book.
Again well written with great characters. The man can do no wrong!

Grace and Mercy was an erotic adventure from start to finish. Great characters with a strong female domme and a Hollywood hunk too. Book 2 “Wife Me Bad Boy” was a pleasant surprise an erotic tear fest. Grant loved Lacey from the first time he saw her, he just didn’t want to admit it. By the end I was alternating laughing with crying. Great romance right up till the HEA. Plus a teaser: I can’t wait to read “Bad Boy Daddy” with Faith and Jackson’s story.

I was happily surprised by this book from Chance Carter as I had never read anything like this from him. Grace and Mercy gives a new take on the BDSM subject with the female being the dominant. Add to this a beautiful love story and a HEA ending and you’ve got the recipe for a good read !

“Grace and Mercy” is now my favorite Chance Carter book. It has strong, sexy characters and a story line that will keep you reading page after page until the end, where it will leave you wanting more. I especially liked Reagan, a woman who found a unique way out of her extreme hurt and pain. But I also liked Ethan, a man not intimidated by a strong woman and who actually liked the idea that a woman could be a great partner, both sexually and in life.
There are two important ideas explored in “Grace and Mercy” and these ideas are the reason why I gave the book a five star rating. The first idea was the concept of a sexual equal. The second of these ideas is that intimacy and a true connection are more than just sex. If you want a hot, sexy read with just a little bit more, then “Grace and Mercy” is definitely a book for you.

Are two strong, passionate characters who draw you in with their strong personalities. It was very interesting seeing such a strong male character giving up control to his partner. It was very sexy seeing such a strong female character take charge in the bedroom and leading the male character for once. Although I don't harbor any domme fantasies of my own, this was pretty sexy to read. Ethan and Reagan grow pretty organically, and it's not so over the top that you can't imagine it happening in real life. I definitely give this five stars.

Great book
Having read all of Mr. Carter's this one is very different from the rest of his books. This tells the story of a very strong women that has been greatly hurt. From this hurt she as found a way to grow from it but has put up many walls on the way. The is a guy that is in need of control all of the time but feels like something is missing. When the two if commune together something wonderful happens but she is afraid of it. When she starts to let down those walls something happens that make the halls go back up. Can they fix the problem and have that happy ending? Chance's writing as greatly improved since the first book that he has written. I felt more in touch with these characters. Great job Chance!

Merciless Graceless Mess 👎
Didn't like this book. I thought the whole idea of it was creepy. Consequently, I did not finish it. I read over half of it.👎 Not for me! Two stars🌠🌠 for the effort.

This one had to be my favorite book so far by Chance and that’s saying a lot because I love all his books! Great storyline and great hot love scenes. This book I couldn’t put it down and I couldn’t get enough of it! This would totally be my favorite fantasy book with scenes and fantasy that I could totally see myself in! I definitely recommend it!

Grace and Mercy Review
I loved this book. With each book Chance Carter writes, I have witnessed how much he has grown as an author. Grace and Mercy is the well-written story of movie star Ethan and his Dom girlfriend Reagan. The story has great characters, humor, love, trust, and a whole lot of kink. Chance Carter shows us another side of himself in this 5 star read.
