Jessica had hoped never to see him again... Luke, a successful young business analyst and old friend of Jessica’s stepmother, came to England to save Jessica’s father’s bank, and she fell in love with him at first sight. But on the night of her father’s sudden, tragic death, Jessica found Luke and her stepmother locked in a passionate embrace! So she left him, keeping a dark she was carrying his baby. She never suspected that four years later, he would hatch a scheme to bring her back!
I can say without a doubt I hated the story you have the male lead character blackmailing her like no tomorrow and in the next page she's throwing her self at him. He goes out his way to get her to marry him without an ounce of remorse. He show no guilt about the way he used there daughter or her job to hunt her down. then he takes her to his place with threats of taking their child from her and pretty much all hopes of having a job just all for him to have her as his wife.
Yes you learn that she left after the death of her dad and what she thought was her boyfriend and stepmother sleeping together but not once did the stepmother step forward to tell her side and the boyfriend used an investor to find her. Instead of using what he learned the right way he used it to blackmail her. And instead if getting angry or at lest show any other emotions when he comes clean about it she throws herself at him like it was NOTHING....
If I could rate this as a 0 I would the main female character had no self respect.
Honestly? Luke is one of the worst "heroes" I've ever encountered, and I've just about seen it all. He quite literally kidnapped their child. I get it, she shouldn't have hidden her from him, but good lord, can you imagine? And Jessica just lapped it up, slept with him and suddenly remembered her love for him AFTER he told her! If it'd been me the man would currently be in traction and missing a very critical part of his anatomy. Just...brace yourselves if you decide to read it.
