Reviewed at Heart Full of Christmas

Remember Hannah and Carter from The Christmas Cookie Shop? Well, it’s time for that magical cookie shop’s annual selling of the infamous Virginia Cookies – those delightful three types of cookies that have a definite magical touch, or maybe effect is a better description. Hannah’s brother, Ben and his daughter Lily are visiting Christmas Town for this grand event, visiting for the weekend with plans to return in a few weeks for Hannah’s wedding and to house-sit for the honeymooning couple. Jingles and Belle need some company while Hannah is away or that shiny objects thief of a kitten would have everything not nailed down hidden under the guest bed which is Jingles favorite hiding the loot spot. It also gives Ben and Lily the chance to experience the magic of the Christmas season in Christmas Town. And if Hannah’s got some matchmaking in mind, it’s only for her friend’s and brother’s happy ever after future that she has in mind. For Sandy Claus would be the perfect match for Ben… and Sandy is quickly discovering just how fateful this meeting is going to be.

Sandy owns the Christmas Globe Gallery in Christmas Town where her beautiful works of art are displayed and sold. And if that over-sized snow globe in her front window is an eye catcher – well, there’s a reason the Christmas scene within it looks so realistic. When the bags of cookies that Sandy and Ben bought are accidentally switched – well, let’s just say the results are fireworks, and perhaps a touch of Sandy’s heritage as well. While Sandy loves living in Christmas Town she’s also holding onto a family secret – one that could drive a wedge between her and Ben. Their future depends on Sandy helping Ben to re-discover a long lost belief in Christmas magic and things that need to be believed with the heart.

It’s so easy to fall into the world that Ginny Baird has created in the Christmas Town series. I loved this second story in the series as much as the first. Sandy is a funny, charming character – even if she might have waited too long to tell Ben absolutely everything about herself. The residents of Christmas Town once again make appearances making this small town come alive with hope, love and Christmas magical events. Lily is adorable and the bond she and Sandy share is so precious. Ben and Sandy fit well, and I ached over Sandy’s dilemma in telling him her truth.

Once again I was captured by the whimsy of these stories, the feeling of stepping back into my childhood and simply believing in Christmas magic again… as an adult. I’d strongly recommend A Mommy For Christmas to any reader who loves the charm and magical touches of the Christmas season. You’ll be caught up in a really good romance, lively secondary characters and a couple that work so well together and deserve their happy ever after ending.

I own an e-book copy of this story.

I love this author’s Christmas books! They draw me in and delight me every time I read one.
This is the second book in The Christmas Town Series. You can read them out of order but I think you will enjoy them more in order.
In this book we have Hannah, from the first book, getting married. Her best friend is Sandy Claus and her brother is Ben, a single father to a daughter, Lily. Sandy is Hannah’s maid of honor and lives next door. Ben is coming from out of town, to stay in Hannah’s place while she Honeymoons. Ben will be giving away Hannah and Lily is the Flower Girl. Hannah is getting married at Christmastime so the story is set during the holiday.
I love the characters and the town. I want to go live there. Haha. If you have never read a Christmas Town book be prepared to love the town. I loved the sprinkling of magic in this story. Christmas, for me, is a magical time. It is a time when any good thing can happen. The relationship moved along quickly but also had some bumps to get over. I adored seeing Lily turned into a princess and also her having a spa day. I know a few single fathers of daughters and I feel like Ms Baird captured the difficulty of being both mother and father accurately.
I recommend this book for anyone looking for a bit of Christmas cheer, to those who love romance and those who believe in happy ever afters. I read this book after Christmas, while going through a difficult time, and it took me away. I hope it does the same for you.

A Mommy For Christmas (Christmas Town #2)
By: Ginny Baird
A Mommy For Christmas is book two in Christmas Town series by Ginny Baird. I absolutely love the series. The author brings us a very heartwarming romance holiday story. The story and the characters both are so real that you feel like you are right there with them. Ginny Baird captured my heart right at the start and did not let go till the end. This story takes place in Christmas Town, Tennessee where Ben and his daughter, Lily, goes for his sister’s wedding. They meet Sandy Claus who runs the Snow Globe Gallery. You will meet back up with some of the characters from book one The Christmas Cookie Shop. Ben finds himself falling for the beautiful blonde . Sandy has a secret she is not telling Ben. Could this secret hurt their friendship? Sandy loves Christmas Town and cannot see herself living anywhere else. Ben is an attorney in Virginia. There is some magic going on in Christmas Town, could the Virginia Cookies have anything to do with it? Are the cookies really special ? Will Lily get her wish for Christmas?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book ,but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

What a delightful read to put one in the Christmas mood. The books title sure fits this story it is all about one little lonely little girl and her lonely father who have come to Christmas town to be in his sister’s wedding and watch over her home why she is away on her honeymoon. Christmas town is an amazing town from the streets to the shops and some of the people have Christmas names. Just like all little towns everyone is in every ones business as they play match marker. The story is a mixture of secrets, love, joy, happiness as a town works to bring one of their own home for good. Sandy Claus is an unusual woman full of mystery and a few secrets as she pulls Ben and his daughter into her magical world.

This story worked for me from the delightful characters to the wonderful events and the outstanding shops. You have to wonder what is up with those cookies they have a mystery of their own. Could the legend be true or is it all a lot of wishful thinking to make people show their true feelings?

Ben had it all a wonderful life, wonderful wife and a delightful family he just adored until the day it all came to an end leaving him lonely with just a small child to take care of. His family now broken with his love of a lifetime gone he is left to raise their little girl. He is a wonderful father always putting her first giving her the love and time she needs. Coming to Christmas town has shown him the things he is missing. It also makes Lily make a Christmas wish that didn’t come true last year.

With Christmas so near and two people pulled together as the attraction takes over they can hardly keep their hands to their selves. Will a little girl fondest wish come true or will a secret tear down a couple everyone wants together?

The scenes are very vivid I could picture the snow globe in my mind with the little reindeer at play with snow falling around them. What a wonderful idea with the sled that she holds so dear to her heart. I loved the princess games and the story behind it. The characters were a delight as well as the wonderful supporting ones. Each adds so much to the story giving you a wonderful read. I did think some parts moved a little fast and I would have liked to have had a little more added to the ending. It really was a delightful story that had me smiling and at times laughing. This is really what the true meaning of Christmas is all about time for each other, love, sharing and giving of one’s heart. There are a few twists that will make you raise an eyebrow holding your breath to see what the outcome is going to be. I loved the plot and theme it really was a delightful read. It truly warms your heart with characters that feel so real you could almost reach out and touch them. I can’t wait to read the next in this series and revisit with people I have come to love.

If you love Christmas stories then this is the series for you. The whole town is Christmas. And this particular story has some special secrets! Fun, laughter and small town angst are all included in this sweet and wonderful read!

Hannah's brother Ben is coming to town with his daughter for his sisters wedding. But he never expected to meet someone here. His sister has been praising Sandy Claus for a while now but he can't believe how beautiful she really is. But there is no chance for them. Two towns, two states. And he can't put Lily through that when she has asked Santa for a mommy. But when a mixup with his sisters secret Virginia cookies happens the attraction becomes hard to control.

Sandy thinks Ben is the most attractive man she has ever met. Not to mention a wonderful father. But she has secrets. The kind that have ran other men off. And she's afraid of what may happen. But as they become more involved she can't fight her feelings for Ben or Lily and knows she must come clean about who she is and her family. Will she be able to make Ben see through the far fetched truth that is her life to make a life with her? Will Lily get her Mommy for Christmas?
Can't wait for the next one!

I love Christmas Town. A visit here is always filled with joy, magic and romance. Single Dad Ben Winchester is here for his sister's wedding. Lily, his eight year old daughter, is the flower girl. Ben wants to make his little girl happy, but he knows that he can't give her what she wants most - a mommy. When Ben meets Sandy Claus, he's attracted. Thing become more intense when they accidentally exchange a Commitment Cookie which Ben eats. Will there be another HEA? Sandy has a secret that might stop their romance. I wanted him to follow his heart, but I had my doubts. Ginny Baird has the magic touch with this series. Love and magic combine to give the reader a sweet holiday tale that lifts the heart. Her characters are charming. The residents are quirky and caring. The secrets are magical and HEA are possible. I can't wait for more stories in this feel good series.

I am enjoying the 2nd book in The Christmas Town series. Matchmaking is in full swing. It seems Hannah thinks her brother Ben and her best friend Sandy would make a perfect couple. What better time to match make than at Hannah's wedding. Even Lily, Ben's 8 year old daughter, wants them together. It isn't until the dance, that sparks fly and hearts melt. So for the next 2 weeks while Hannah is on her honeymoon, Ben and Lily will house sit Hannah's 2 cats, Jingles and Belle. In the next 2 weeks, Sandy and Ben get to know each other and fall in love. The town is conspiring to keep Sandy here by getting Ben and Lily to move to Christmas Town. It could all fall apart. Sandy has a secret. I love the ending.
Oh, and I will never look at peppermint the same way again.

This is an advance copy and was given for an honest review.

Okay, I did like the book.
It was an easy read, had that beautiful winter/snow feel, good and nice people, just all around happy holiday.

What I didn't like and got more annoying the often I came across it where the names. Everyone in that town had some christmasy last name.
One or two fine, possible. But practically everyone?
No! That was just too much and got on my nerves pretty fast. And since names tend to come up quite a bit in a book... well. It took from the enjoyment.

Anyway, nice book. I don't regret reading it. But I doubt I'll ever gonna re-read it.

“A Mommy for Christmas “(Christmas Town Book 2)

I just can’t eat over this book! It’s absolutely everything about Christmas in a town of the same name, with all the businesses having something to do with Christmas! What a fun read, plus you get to look at part of it from a little girl’s eyes! It’s just a book to read when you want nothing more than to be entertained.I only hope you like it as much as I did.

I fell in love with 3 delightful people

Warm and Nice are the best words to describe the plot, the town, and the characters right from the beginning. There is a lovely sense of fun and magic running throughout every chapter.

One small thing that bothered me a wee bit was an occasional overload of detailed commentary of scenes or the characters, personal inter-relationships. My brain would come to a halt to digest all the facts before getting back into the story.

Ben, Sandy, and Hannah

I just couldn’t get into this story. Not just because the plot was far fetched but the characters and how the story developed just didn’t click with me. Ben’s character was great and even Hannah’s. But Sandy was too flighty, too silly to click with Ben’s character. Sorry.

A Mommy for Christmas is a light closed door romance, that’s overly sweet. Ben Winchester is a single father to an eight-year-old little girl, Lily. Sandy Claus is a gallery owner and one of Ben’s sister's best friends. While in town for his sister’s pre-wedding party the two bump into each other at Hannah’s cookie shop. The Christmas Cookie Shop is known to make inspired cookies. This time of year, the Commitment Cookie (believed to inspire true love) is very popular. After this encounter, the two can't seem to stop thinking about each other. Their attraction intensifies after Ben mistakenly eats a Commitment Cookie given to him by Sandy.

I really liked the characters of Ben, Sandy, and Lily. Together, they make a lovely family unit. Lily is very pushy in wanting a Mommy and she doesn’t hide that fact. I love that Ginny Baird throws in little clues as to who future couples are going to be. Even little Lily is hinted at having a relationship when she’s older.

A Mommy for Christmas was truly an enjoyable read. I just found the story to be a little too sweet for my taste. I also found myself questioning the actions of Ben and Sandy and wondering if they were truly sincere. I know that’s an odd thing to say, but I really wanted to know if Ben and Sandy fell for each other naturally or if Ben eating a cookie given to him by Sandy sparked their relationship. I also found myself comparing this story to the first book in the series, The Christmas Cookie Shop. I LOVED that story and it was just a little hard for me not to compare the two.

A Mommy for Christmas is a standalone read, however you will definitely want to read all the books in the series. I think you’ll find yourself invested in the secondary characters just as much as the main characters and wanting to see them get their happily-ever-afters as well.

Sandy Claus has had a hard time finding the right guy. The one time she thought she found “the one”, he bolted after she told him about her family history. Needless to say, she’s been very guarded since. So when she finds herself irresistibly drawn to her best friend’s older brother, she decides to fight the magnetic pull he has on her and avoid him as best she can. But when that doesn’t seem to work, she finds herself falling for him and his sweet daughter. But is the chemistry Ben and Sandy feel for each other real? Or is there magic at work, causing these feelings between them?

I was really looking forward to reading this second book in the series. I was intrigued by Sandy, her family history, and the magic that happens in Christmas Town. This was a REALLY fun story, what with Sandy’s ancestors and her “abilities”. And while I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the chemistry she had with Ben, I found myself really loving her back story and a bit more of the history of Christmas Town. The hint of Christmas magic in the story makes it an irresistible read and the love story was great too. Overall, this was a really fun book with a sweet love story and a super cute back story. If you’re in the mood for an entertaining read that brings more to the table than your typical Christmas story, then this is the book for you!

(I received a digital copy of the book for free. I voluntarily decided to post a review. All of the above opinions are entirely my own.)
