All for This

Rate this book
What if you would never remember the day you made the most important decision of your life?

That’s what they’re telling me about the day of my accident — the day I put on Max’s ring and chose him over Nate. I’m counting on the wisdom behind a decision I don’t remember making.

Max is amazing — sexy, sweet, and kind. I was starting to believe happily-ever-after might be in my future after all. Then the unthinkable happened and my world imploded. If I’m going to make this work with Max, I need my missing memories, or at least answers from about those five days before my accident.

But what does my future hold if those answers aren’t anything like I imagined?

I am so glad to finally have all the answers. I am also glad the series is over. Hanna drove me crazy with her back and forth. Every time she slept with Max I died a little inside. I have always been team Nate from the start but Hanna's bullshit put me on team fuck Hanna and move on to someone who can make their mind up! I'm just saying! I don't really like love triangles so I knew I would have a hard time with that. I still wanted to read this series because the synopsis of book one really got me interested. I had to know how it would play out. Now I do and it was over all enjoyable ride although I still don't like love triangles.

”I trusted you like I never trusted him, needed you like I never needed him. I chose him for everyone but myself, but I wanted you.”

I finished! I feel like I should get a badge or something. This series was DRAMA to the millionth power.

description

I recommend friends leaving a large block of time because the angst and suspense will leave you insisting on reading all three books in a row. Once you’re done with the series you’ll be just like me…

description

The suspense of finding out what happened the day of Hanna's accident and the present love triangle between Hanna/Max/Nate will have you guessing till the very end.

"Your going to choose him, but part of you will always be mine."

Overall, this was one suspenseful love triangle. At times I fought the urge to peak at the last page but I kept myself in check. I liked the ending the author gave Hanna and will definitely read more by this author (climbing into my bed) good night and good luck if your planning on starting this series.

The author had me hooked with a love triangle. That is an amazing feat. Because I don't like them. Through both books I was not team anyone. I liked both guys. But her treatment of one was so awful I knew who she would pick but she kept dangling him on. Giving him hope to only pull back. She may need the one she picked but what she needs to ask herself would that guy have done all the things the other guy did. If you don't want details on who she picked stop.

I have no issues with the guy she chooses he is a great guy. But here is my hang up. He always walked away. He always pushes her away. I feel the only reason he fought for her the last time is because she is pregnant and they are his. Would he have raised those babies had they been Max's babies? No! Would he have given up his dream...sold his house to buy her bakery? No! Would he have taken her back after finding out she gave her virginity to someone else and kept putting him off? No! Would he have helped her work at bakery, fixed her steps, brought her groceries knowing she was too busy to take care of herself? No! But I guess all that matters is the guy who can make your panties wet at the drop of a hat, but then that doesn't make you special I think that's a groupie of a rock star. Sorry if I am being mean but if your going to make a guy a saint and have the heroine treat him likes doormat I am going to hate her. The minute I hated the way she strung Max along I couldn't finish it because I no longer liked her.

♥ ♥ ♥ ...just the perfect ending for this amazing series! ♥ ♥ ♥

All for This is the last book in the Here and Now series and the one I liked the most. Hanna finally decides who's the perfect guy for her and the one she can't live without.

For me, this book had it all! A little suspense, the right amount of drama, heartache and angst.

A likeable heroine..

...and of course a ❤ hot and sexy rockstar ❤ to die for ;)

As much as I liked Hanna, I have to say that this was one book too many. Thank God that it is finally over! If she changed her mind one more time, I was seriously going to lose it! Good story, but waaay too much back and forth. I think if the story had been told over two books, and gotten to the same endpoint, it would have been much more enjoyable. As it is, I liked it, but I started to feel like it was sucking the life out of me. Hanna's indecisiveness became so tedious that I almost didn't finish this one. Alas, there was a happy ending. It was sweet, albeit predictable. Most importantly, Hanna did make a decision.

Initial reaction: Man, a lot of rollercoaster drama in this one, but it did seem like things were tied together more than I thought it would be, at least for the major stuff (minor, not so much). I feel like this series could've been done in a duology really, or maybe even a single book with how prolonged the conflict was just for it to end up like this. And in the end, I feel like a lot of the issues here were palpable and realistic potentially, but the way they unfolded felt like melodrama.

I'll give it 2 stars, but that's about as high as I can go. I'll meditate on it a bit and give my thoughts and reasons in the full review.

As an afterthought, I keep thinking that I've read better crafted storylines and characterization in Japanese josei manga than some of the New Adult stories I've picked up, including this one. And while sometimes the storylines can get a little crazy for events, it would feel less manipulative for emotions and drama than this series did to me. This had potential, but many times it just felt to me like it was drama for drama's sake. At the very least, I've found moments to like Ryan's writing, but I still couldn't find a connection with this series as much as I tried to do so.

Full review:

Finally finished this series, and surprisingly quickly considering I read the second and third novels back to back. "All for This" picks up right where the last book left off with a cheap cliffhanger that I saw coming from a mile away. It was even cheaper of a measure for drama than the cliffhanger ending the first book. Ugh.

I think this book did come up with some genuine surprises as to Hannah's accident and the final five days prior to that event. At the very least, I'll give Ryan credit for those revelations, for the writing in general, as well as the realism involved with Hannah's ongoing pregnancy and issues pertaining to it, e.g. how Nate and Max would factor into the raising of the kids. However, I imagine this would've been a much shorter novel if we weren't going back and forth between the sex scenes (again, like the last two novels - there were just too many of them and it was distracting and tedious rather than establishing the chemistry/connections between the characters) and the repetitious, sometimes very superfluous drama that occurred between the characters. It was a bit ridiculous after a time, and I mentally just said "You know what, I'm reading on to see what happens, but I honestly couldn't care because I know this is trying to milk my emotions and I'm just not buying into it." And that's a problem because if the events of the novel are just throwing conflict after conflict at you and it's not really plausible for the characters and realm of the novel - you run the risk of losing your reader. "All for This" almost lost me, but I kept reading on to see what exactly happened with Hannah up to the day of her accident and why/how she ended up with Max's ring on her finger.

Turns out the reason was something I suspected for quite some time, but in the end, you're still in limbo for whom she ends up going for because of other little conflicts that get thrown in the reader's face in the narrative. Some of it was plausible, others of it I was like "Really, dude? You had to squeeze just one more conflict in there."

I did care about Hannah's decisions, and I wouldn't even have been surprised if she'd ended up with neither Max or Nate because the stress alone ran her ragged in places of this novel - but it had a few moments of coming to terms that I respected for what it offered. At the same time, there were others that were kind of thrown in for quick conflict (i.e. Meredith's particular issues and rationale for torment Hannah) that I feel weren't treated for the seriousness they needed to have.

The ending felt a bit rushed, but the major threads of conflict promised in the series were tied up to a point where I could say it did okay for what it provided. I do think this series could've had more to it than what it had, but it pulled me along for the ride, even if I wasn't necessarily happy with the journey or the character actions in the duration.

I'm going to follow Lexi Ryan's other series to see if they strike me a little better than this one, but overall - it was just an okay series, a bit drawn out and more formulaic in the scheme of New Adult than I was hoping for.

Overall score: 2/5 stars.

I would maybe like this better as just one book. And I did like book one. After that everything just flopped for me.

Hanna with her love for two men and her inability to choose drove me mad.

Eventually, she chooses one guy but not because she loves him, after all, she loves both of them...no I think she picked him because it was convenient considering all the circumstances. And that is just sad. And that doesn't make me a happy romance reader. She just took three books to do it. In the meentime, she sleeps with both of them but the author always makes excuses so it doesn't seem like cheating. The fact that she jumps in bed with one guy after she thinks the other is dead is disgusting.

Who would have thought that triangle would not even be a blimp on my opinion on this book?
Me the triangle hater.

The main reason this book pissed me off is that these characters are two things; doormats or whining little assholes... or at times both.

All for This is book 3 of the Here and Now series, this is not a stand alone novel. SPOILERS ahead if you have not read the first two books. You may also like to know that we do see Hanna, Max and Nate’s POV throughout the book as well just as we did in “Fall to You” book 2.

I promised that, if she chose him, I’d let her go. I promised that I wouldn’t make her second guess her decision.”

Hanna was injured and has amnesia. She doesn’t remember the last 11 months or so of her life. She wakes up and is engaged to her crush since childhood Max Hollowell. He is HOT as hell and she never thought she could have him. Hanna has always had low self esteem, so when she wakes up to see she’s engaged, she can’t believe it. She soon finds out Nate Crane was the man she was having a secret summer affair with. She loves both Max and Nate and wants to understand why she chose to marry Max. She still doesn’t remember the last 5 days prior to her accident in All for This. Hanna tries to piece together the last 5 days to understand what pushed her towards an engagement with Max.

“Fuck fair. For you, angel, I’ll play downright dirty.”

“I love you, Hanna. I just want you to wake up every day and know – without a doubt in your mind – that you’re engaged to a man who loves you and wants to make up for being blind for so many years.”

When Nate Crane shows up at Hanna’s doorstep and sees Hanna with Max, he is crushed. He’s back from the dead! What will Nate do when he finds out Hanna is pregnant with his child… oops I meant Children?!?! Talk about a freak out moment coming since he’s made it clear he never wants any other children and did not want a future with Hanna. Will Hanna still marry Max or will Nate decide he won’t stop until he has her back forever?

“You can leave, but you’re taking my heart with you. You can choose him, but part of you will always be mine.”

“God, I missed the way you feel wrapped around my fingers.”

Are you ready for the most brilliant mind fuck around? Here it is!!! Lexi Ryan has killed us throughout this entire series while we’re trying to figure out happened before Hanna’s accident and why she chose to wear Max ‘s “ring”. There was so much angst in “All for This” that I wanted to just scream and cry at every page turn, literally SCREAM AND CRY just begging and pleading to find out what the hell happened. I absolutely loved this series and this book, OMG it could not have been written any better!!! It was fan-fucking-tastic! It was a tear-jerker and I loved EVERY single damn word written! Talk about screaming HOLY CRAP to myself! How do I say 5++++ phenomenal stars because that’s exactly what I’m saying this book is! Get your butt reading because you will fall in love with this trilogy just as I have and I will definitely read this again in the near future because I just loved Hanna, Nate and Max.

OMG I was so excited and nervous for this book. My heart was torn in two. I love Nate and have since book one. I fell madly in love with Max in book two. I couldn't decide who I wanted Hanna with more. All I can say is Lexi did an amazing job with this conclusion to Hanna, Max and Nate.

Hanna is still trying to remember all the details of the four days before her fall. She knows she most likely won't remember, but she is trying to piece it together. She wants to know what made her put on Max's ring. She knows what she wants, but can she get it? Will she finally get her HEA? Or will she continue to make others happy?

Max has been in love with Hanna for awhile. He regrets how he started their relationship. If he could change it he would. He didn't expect Hanna to be as honest, sweet and compassionate as she is. He always wanted her twin sister Liz, but know nows he was going for the wrong sister. Can he keep Hanna? Or were they doomed from the beginning?

Nate promised he wouldn't come after Hanna if she chose Max, but how can he keep that promise. Especially now with babies involved. He wants her and doesn't understand how she didn't pick him. He knows she loves him. What will he do? Does he fight for her? Or does he lose the love of his life?

So now this is the part where everyone is going to want to punch me, but Lexi actually made me like Meredith in this book. I won't say much on her, but even though she is a mega bitch I found a place in my heart for her. She deserves to find a man that loves her for her and not her looks and what she can do for him.

This was an amazing conclusion to the Here and Now trilogy. I was so torn throughout this whole book. I wanted her to marry Max and have his babies and the next minute I wanted her to marry Nate and have his babies. I don't think I have ever been so torn between the two main male characters before. In my eyes there was one true lead man, but she couldn't have picked wrong with either guy. Max and Nate both had some amazing qualities. Lexi knows how to draw you into a book and keep you there. She makes you want more. I hope for a few more books on some characters in these books.

You know when someone wants to tell a really good story, but they add so much details, so much twists, so much drama, that at the end, no one cares anymore because WE.JUST.WANTED.TO.KNOW.THE.FREAKING.STORY???
Well, that's what happened to Miss Ryan with this one.

I gave this serie a chance despite of the love triangle affair, because the premise looked good and totally believable. Girl woke up in the hospital with amnesia, learns that she is engaged to a man she's had a crush on since she was 13, but in the middle of the night, another man climbs into her bed and she realizes that OMG, she might have been a cheater.

I loved the 1st book atmosphere, Hanna discovering her new body -she's been a plus size her whole life and suddenly, she's thinner than ever - Hanna being in a relationship with Max, her crush - he's never really paid attention to her and suddenly, he just wants her to be his wife and would probably die for her - Hanna meeting Nate and realizing she might have been a cheater, which absolutely isn't her. I loved this. There's also the fact that although everyone concluded that she fell off the stairs, there are some suspicions that someone beat her and pushed her. That makes some serious mystery because Hanna comes from a cute and small town where everyone knows everyone and she has loads of friends and knows a lot of not so friendly people so, you're reading but wondering "is that him/her"... Aaaand there's the fact that Hanna has a relationship with two men - although there are no cheating, it's more of a Ross and Rachel case, and she doesn't remember putting the ring on her finger, so my wild brain was thinking that maybe, the person who pushed her is the person who put the ring on her finger...

But then, things started to drag, Book 2 was full of throwbacks to "2 weeks before the accident" or "4 days before the accident" and it was annoying as f***!!! There are millions of characters in this book, and I swear we got millions of dramas about each of them before the truth about Hanna, the MC after all, was finally revealed at the very end of Book 3. And what a truth! To say that I was disappointed is a big, fat understatement. See, the thing with a book like that and a wild imagination like mine, is that the truth has got to be as jaw-dropping as what you gave me the time to imagine. I don't know if that makes sense, maybe it was my fault, if I wanted a real, thrilling mystery, I should have picked up a Stephen King instead, but still, it fell flat.

Another big problem of mine, is that it's not the kind of love story I want to read about. Truthfully, I wonder who would? I mean, it started with a love triangle and although I don't like those, I can understand that those things can happen. But, at some point, there's got to be something about one that you love more than the other, right? There's got to be a moment when you're alone and you realize you're missing this one and not that one, or you can't live without this one or the other. Here, Miss Ryan tried to create two amazing male characters and tried to make us believe that it was okay for the love triangle to last so long (3 books, after all!!) because Hanna truly loved them both the same. One chapter she's with Max because he is sweet, he's been her crush since forever, and he made a lot of great sacrifices for her and the other one, she's kissing Nate because she just can't resist him and there's this great alchemy between them and blablabla... There's not one moment where Hanna has some big revelation about one or the other. When Nate is presumed dead, she basically jumps into bed with Max and that was disgusting to me.
Everything is about "he did this amazing thing for me so I've go to marry him" or "I'm going to have his babies so I have to choose him". WTH? That doesn't make me swoon. That doesn't make me dream about a love like this. It just makes me want to slap Hanna. I can't even tell you why, in the end, she chose this one and not the other, it truly felt like it was a convenience and there's nothing romantic about this.

I'm giving this 2 stars because no matter how bad she handled the "mystery", I still think I discovered a gem with Miss Ryan, and because in the end, Hanna picked the one I was rooting for even though I think HE deserved more than someone who's also half in love with another one.

All For This is the third and final book in the Here and Now series and is an Adult, Romance written by Lexi Ryan. I was gifted a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review through AToMR Tours .

4 Fantastic, Well-Rounded Stars!
Closure! It’s A Beautiful Thing... But Wow, Did It Take A Mental Whiplash To Get There!

The Review:
This was a perfect ending to a fascinating three part story! I fell in love with this series from the beginning of book one and I never lost interests as the plot was slowly played out in a vibrant, mysterious and sexy way. This author quickly scaled the To-Be-Read pile on my ereader and took top spot on my “Must-Have-the-Moment-It’s-Out” list. I loved the writing, I loved the story and this final book just ended everything in a way that was acceptable and gave everyone a HEA... Well, most everyone ;)

Through the POV of Nate, Hanna and Max, we get the full story of what happened to Hanna and the days leading up to her fall. We get their emotions, their thoughts and their secrets as all is revealed in this exciting conclusion to the love triangle that captivated me, entranced me and kept me guessing throughout all three books!

Characters...
I still loved Hanna’s character but she caused a lot of the drama that unfolded with her self doubt. She didn’t have much love for herself and because of that, she made unwise choices and doubted those around her. Don’t get me wrong. I completely understand and would, and do at times, feel the same as she did. When doubt and the inability to recognize your own beauty and self worth rule your life, it causes consequences that are sometimes harsh. And it did for her. But I loved how she grew and matured and found her value and respect. She understood where she went wrong and worked on fixing these insecurities in herself.

Max and Nate were both equally hot and equally remarkable. Of course, in the beginning I wanted Nate to be Hanna’s choice but as the three books unfolded, Max became this amazing character who redeemed himself and suddenly I was totally conflicted. Nate was a bag of mixed signals but it was obvious from the start he needed love the most. Though she doubted them, both men loved and accepted Hanna for herself. I both inverted and felt sorry for her. Two wonderful men, both with qualities to admire, both with baggage that warranted consideration. But in the end, she knew where she belonged.

I also loved the friendships. All the group of friends and family made the picturesque New Hope come alive on the pages.

I will say as much as I enjoyed this read, the last steps in their story were filled with uncomfortable angsts galore! There’s a lot of back and forth and indecisions and miscommunication. And because I came to care for all the characters, I couldn’t define a bad guy and I wanted them to all get what they wanted, which was impossible. If they’d all been honest from the start, they could have avoided all this heartache but then the angst wouldn’t have been so damn good!

The Wrap Up:
When this series started, I had no idea how it would turn out. There were twists and turns, secrets and reveals, jealousy and rivals, best friends and enemies. I finished book one with an idea of what was going on and a pretty clear indication of how I wanted it to all go. But through the brilliant writing, all my expectations were blown to a million peices. All my ideas were found invalid and before I knew it, I was caring about characters I thought I disliked. This series/book was so unexpected. As the real story unfolds, you grow to care and admire all the characters. Hanna is in a tough situation and my heart broke for her as she struggled to regain the memory of “why” she made the choices she did. I loved that everyone had a story leading up to the exciting conclusion. Everyone played a part and when it was all done, everyone got an ending.

This book wrapped up the Max, Hanna, Nate triangle in a way that completely satisfied me and made me ache for more all at the same time.

Very ain't-climatic and a bit disappointing considering how much I loved the first book.

With tighter story telling this three book series would have made one great book. But it felt as if the story was being drug out to make it a three book series. And the ending felt to rushed and contrived quite frankly.

Rather disappointed in the direction this whole story took. Sorry I know I'm in the minority here, but this is not going down as one of my favorite reads.

I am very vocal about my great dislike of trilogies and sequels. Soooo......I felt this book was not necessary. It could have been wrapped up in two books. Seemed repetitive in places, and I really was sick of our heroine dicking Max around. Enough already! I was also tired of the fat girl loathing herself storyline. BORING because of over use.
I really like this author and this series but 3 books and now 2 for Sam and Liz? Author did a fine job with 1 book stories before this series.

>>> ATTENZIONE SPOILER <<<

Alt. Fammi capire bene.
Avresti illuso quel povero ragazzo perché ti faceva pena?
E tu cosa avresti fatto?

OMG! THIS book...THIS series!!! This is my favorite series of 2014 by far! All for This was on my highly highly anticipated list and I couldn't devour this book fast enough. I stayed up until 430am to finish because I HAD to know how it would end, I HAD to know which man she would pick. Admittedly, I loved both men and in my heart Hanna had a tough choice. But there was always the one that I knew was the love of her life, her soulmate....and yes this book was an emotional roller coaster but in the end I had a huge smile on my face.
I don't want to reveal anything of the story as it is truly amazing and you MUST experience it for yourself. I will say that you must read from book 1, Lost in Me as these books can not be read as a standalones. All you really need to know about the books are from the blurbs themselves. Yes, there is amnesia, yes there is a definite love triangle and yes someone will come out as the winner in the end. To find out who, well you will have to read the books.

Ms. Ryan did an amazing job with this series because I was completely vested. I never rooted for one man over the other because in the end, I just wanted Hanna to find her happy. So to me, it was always her journey. Ms. Ryan's written words were so beautiful, emotional and heartbreaking all at the same time. Hanna was a lucky woman - she had two great men with hearts of gold vying for her love and affection.

This series really stood out to me because I love different. I love mystery, intrigue, suspense, angst and above all romance and love. This series had it all and so much more. It played with my emotions, gave me belly aches of nerves and played most of all with my heart and I have NEVER been so excited to complete a series before. Yes I was sleep deprived after finishing this book but in a word, it was complete BLISS.

I will read anything and everything Lexi Ryan writes and am excited for more from this amazing cast of characters who have embedded themselves into my heart like family. Well done!!! <3 <3

There are a few things you should know and be prepared for when you pick up a Lexi Ryan book.
Ok where should I start ....... You will read the whole book in one sitting! Do not start the book at midnight or you will be up till 4 am! You will scream, shout, and throw your kindle! You will probably send threatening messages to the author, begging to get a spoiler. You will cry, then smile and then find yourself jumping up and down! Within minutes of completion you will publicly declare your love for Lexi, all while plotting on how you will butter her up for information on the her next series. Lexi's books are a full fledge roller coaster ride but DAMN are they great! I loved this series and can't wait to see what's next!

This book is a twisty, turning, mind-fuck of utter brilliance. It redefines the phrase "put through the emotional ringer." Here and Now is one of my favourite series, for sure. Team Max or Team Nate... you won't be disappointed.

Ciao readers,
Buona lettura.

Ok. I'm exhausted I've just read this series back to back and talk about a rollercoaster.
At the start of this book I'd no idea if Hannah would pick Max or Nate, I knew who I wanted her to pick, but would she?
The first book 'Lost on Me' was all Nate for me I just couldn't see past him, I mean come on, he's a bad boy rock star with a touch of nerd, who doesn't love that but then 'Fall to you' started with Max's POV and wow that man loves her, and I love a man who loves a woman that much. So it could go either way and it keeps us guessing for a long while.
Hanna still can't remember the day of her accident, the day she chose Max, something tipped the scales in his favour but what was it?
Like I said this book keeps you guessing but eventually Hanna makes the right decision and while I really felt for the guy that was left out I was happy with the way things turned out.
All our questions are answered and we finally understand what happened that day, why Hanna made the decision she did and why she 'fell' down the stairs.
I've enjoyed this series but the summary and the start of 'Lost in Me' was amazing and there's no way the rest could live up to that but it was still an enjoyable and emotional read.
I'm going to take a break and then I think I'll check out Liz and Sam's books.

I was fine with Hanna *mostly* until this book. She kept stringing Max along, she kept standing up for herself and then she would run out of the room and cry. She . She just kept dragging out her decision, she became really fucking selfish, and I don't think I liked any of the characters. I did want her to end up with Nate, but not how it happened.

I was mad at Nate for not wanting another family because he was so afraid he wouldn't be there for his first kid. I hated that Vivian decided to act just like Meredith (not as bad) but still. Everyone is still in love with everyone. I think the series would have ended better if we had an orgy of all the people in town. That's how easy their love is to give. Ugh.

This was a really good series. Sometimes I am not a big fan of triangles, but this one had me torn on which one Hanna should choose. Both of them had great qualities and major screw ups. In the end I am glad she choose the right one..
