Come into THE BINDING, the entangling final chapter of THE LUMINATED THREADS and the fight for Blighted Basin’s future…

Annmar Masterson has one chance to foil the scheming industrialist taking over the farmlands—a man who covets her body and the staggering power of her luminated threads. She must leave her proper Victorian upbringing behind and dedicate herself to mastering the threads—the heritage of her blood.

Shapeshifter Daeryn Darkcoat can’t protect Annmar until he faces the spell tying him to old friends and heartbreaking memories, and even then, she won’t hide behind the alpha male who holds her heart.

With or without Daeryn, Annmar faces an impossible choice. If she uses her luminated threads to harm, she loses them...but fighting without the threads will bind her new homeland to a madman.

Mixing witches, shapeshifters and a coming-of-age historical romance in a secret corner of England, THE BINDING delves deeper into the exciting steampunk fantasy world introduced in THE UNRAVELING and THE TWISTING.

The Binding is Volume 3 of a three-part serialized novel.

Laurel Wanrow loves misty mornings, the smell of freshly dug earth, petting long-haired guinea pigs and staring at the stars. She sees magic in nature and loves to photograph it.

Before kids, she studied and worked as a naturalist—someone who leads wildflower and other nature walks. During a stint of homeschooling, she turned her writing skills to fiction to share her love of the land, magical characters and fantastical settings.

When not living in her fantasy worlds, Laurel camps, hunts fossils and argues with her husband and two new adult kids over whose turn it is to clean house. Though they live on the East Coast, a cherished family cabin in the Colorado Rockies holds Laurel’s heart.

Once again, Annmar must choose to use her Knack wisely or face harming those she has grown to care about. Shearing is out to bring Blighted Basin to its knees, bowing to his power and control while seeking vengeance on Annmar for standing up to him, denying him what he wished for from her. There will be loss and sorrow, fear and joy and a quest to make a better future through strength of character and the grit of conviction.

Laurel Wanrow has given us the third installment of Annmar’s tale and the magnetism is intensified as reality becomes a distant thought and Ms. Wanrow’s world becomes our reality. For meTHE BINDINGis best described as “MORE.” More mystery, more intrigue, more suspense, more emotions and more fabulous storytelling. I wanted it all and I received it from the brilliant cover to the very last page, Ms. Wanrow and Annmar have delivered!

This is steampunk fantasy at its best, with shapeshifters, witches and that particular flavor that brings this world to life with vibrant energy, brilliant characters and dialogue that is spot on! Annmar is coming of age before our very eyes, her change is like watching a flower fully open and her feelings for Daeryn are deepening into a sweet romance. From the social issues that have been addressed to the atmosphere of the 19th century, Ms. Wanrow has told a story that will fascinate all ages and set imaginations running free! What will Annmar risk to save those she cares about? What will she discover about herself and her Knack? Will she learn to truly understand the powers of the illuminated threads and what they mean for her? Page after page of magnetic reading, appropriate for all ages represent a tale to savor, characters to remember and the talent of an author to follow.

Follow this journey through the series and feel a part of this world where good battle evil and knowledge of oneself is a priceless commodity! Perfect reading for YA readers on up!

***I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader***

*Sigh* What a great addition to this book. Annmar was such a strong character, her evolution in this book alone, was exciting!

I loved the world of the fungal also, it created more of an paranormal feel to it, which was awesome!

Henry!!!!! I won't spoil it and and say more, but it was greatness.

The sense of community that this book brought was awesome, so many great characters, some old, some new. I love how Annmar finally found her place in the world and came into her own.

Finally........Annmar and Daeryn.....FINALLY! It was perfect, thanks for satisfying ALL of your readers with that great ending :)

LOVED it :)

Thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I loved the first two books in this series, so I'd been looking forward to reading this one for a while. I was so eager to see how everything would turn out for Annmar, Daeryn and the rest of the Blighted Basin residents. I also wanted to find out about Annmar's father and the mystery surround her talents. I love when I have no idea where the story is going, and I was not at all expecting everything that happened below ground. We were introduced to some lovely new characters, as well as a new bad guy or two. I loved the transformation Annmar made and was cheering for her towards the end. I was expecting things to resolve one way, but they went another (more awesome) direction. What a perfect conclusion to this trilogy.

This was an awesome finish to an awesome trilogy. I loved every minute of the journey. Now I hope Wanrow writes more in that world so I can finish the journey with Annmar and Daeryn.

Interesting world but the story fell apart in the end. The author tried to do too much in too short a time, and while she went out of her way to explain needless things, she never answered what happened to Rivley and Mary Claire’s relationship when it had been such a focal point. This whole serialized novel would’ve read much better as a normal full series so everything could’ve been given the proper time and attention that was needed. I was especially disappointed in the explanation at the end about the threads’ origination. That killed the whole story world I’d understood. Ugh. I so wish the author hadn’t done that. Endings surely do make or break a book.

I need more!

What a wonderful story about a wonderful world filled with fascinating people! My only regret is that there is no book 4. There were loose ends that I would love to see resolved. The ending felt more like a prelude than the end of the story.

Disclaimer: I received this book free from the author.

We’ve reached the end, and this third book of the series included everything I like best about the series. In particular, the main character Anmar, her gift of sight and magic, and her friendship with the people of the Basin.

Ultimately, for me this series has been about coming into one’s own. It is about learning how to value yourself and acknowledge your own gifts. That’s not always easy. Adolescence is brutal. We all come through it changed. By the time we reach adulthood we will have lost some of our innate confidence. We lose an awareness of just what makes us special. As women, we have also learned to internalize the hard lessons about what is expected of us in this world. Namely, a sweet smile, a submissive spirit, always to be non-threatening, non-challenging.

Anmar start the series with those qualities in abundance. What she has eventually come to learn is conviction and self-reliance. She is no longer cowed by the story’s villain. She meets him on his own ground and goes toe to toe with him, and anyone else who wants to force her into a mold. She is ready to make whatever choices are necessary to fulfill what she comes to understand as her destiny. I like that about her. To a certain degree, her love interest, Daeryn, has to take the same journey. He has to learn to trust the people in his pack again as well as to prioritize the things that are really important to him. Which he does. I like that about him.

The fantasy nerd in me enjoys learning more about the “golden threads” that are tied to Anmar’s power, and the different class systems in this society. I like world building and this world has quite a variety of different “worlds” involved in this society. All with their own system and rules. I’d have liked to spend more time underground, I think they were my favorites, though Daeryn’s group really grew on me by the end of the series. The wolf girls were particularly tough! This series is a pleasant fantasy series, if you like steampunk romance, then this is for you.

Wonderful conclusion to the series!

Once again I am draw into a fantastical world filled with characters who jump off the pages, a story that won't let you stop reading, and a world so real I want to go visit.

Like many layers of soil, the story weaves a tale of intrigue, mystery, and fantasy mixed with a steampunk settings and fantastical shapeshifting creatures.

Watching Annmar grow and bloom into a self assured woman from the frightened girl from the first book was a pleasure to see. Finding out the mystery of who she really was, kept me up reading late into the night.

Daeryn's trials and learning to shed his past and grown into a future of his choosing and not necessarily one that followed the rules had me rooting for him at every turn.

The sweet Romance between Annmarand Daeyrn added that extra special touch of realism to a well written story.

I look forward to more stories from Laurel Wanrow!
