Loved it!
I love hot biker dudes, and just recently I thought to myself how I haven't read any good MC romance in a while., so this book was a pleasant surprise.

Get yourself ready for a nasty bastard because really is there anything better than a Bastard that's nasty! Smoke and Gidget were childhood friends who were brought up within the Grim Bastards clubhouse since both of their fathers were members. Their friendship turned into high school sweethearts and Gidget had planned to marry the man she loved as soon as she graduated. Smoke wanted nothing more but to marry this girl and take his rightful place within the Grim Bastard MC. They had it all planned out and Gidget would go to a local school to become a nurse. Gidget had an aunt who had offered to pay for her schooling but in trying to get Gidget away from that bad boy biker she placed a stipulation that she would have to leave Trenton and go to school in Kentucky. Even with the offer of having college paid for there was no way that Gidget would leave the man that she loved; that is until Smoke pushed Gidget away. This gave her no reason to stay in Trenton any longer so she took her aunt up on her offer and tried to start a new life without the man she had loved and planned on spending the rest of her life with.
Now fast forward some years and Gidget has become a nurse, had a son, and is divorced from a man who was all about this new women in his life and who didn’t want their son, Parker. She ends up bringing Parker back to Trenton to live in the home she grew up in. Gidget’s father, Stone, was never a father to her and he become a traitor within the MC along with Gidget’s brother. With her father and brother missing she figured that they finally met their end which she didn’t shed a tear over.
As for Smoke, he became VP of the Bastards and never settled for another girl who he wanted to become his Old Lady. He could never get Gidget off his mind. So why did he push her away all those years ago? Now that he finds Gidget badly beaten hiding in a closet with her son, he swears there is no way he is ever letting her walk away again. But shouldn’t that decision be up to Gidget since Smoke is the one who pushed her away before? Let’s add in to the fact that there is a crazy assed whore that wants nothing more than to become Smoke’s Old Lady and will stop at nothing to make it happen.
This is one hot, sexy read with a lot of twists and turns and has you guessing just what is going to happen next. Nasty Bastard is the kind of book that has you up until 3 a.m. because you can’t put it down. There are lives lost, promises broken and some very erotic scenes with Smoke and Gidget. All during this you don’t know if Gidget is willing to trust that Smoke won’t push her away again because not only will she not be able to handle it, she now has a little boy that idolizes Smoke and could be hurt just as well. Is she willing to set Parker up for the heart break that she knows that Smoke had done once before. The Grim Bastards series is a fantastic biker read that gives you a look into the biker life and the women these men are drawn to.

I aint gonna lie...I was waiting for Smoke's story. Something about the this quiet biker that made me want to know his story. Well, now I do and what a story it was. I was pulled in from the get go and I couldnt put it down no matter how much my real world needed me. Okay, maybe I stopped here and there cause I have a kid to take care of but once he was situated, trust me my greedy little hands swept up that kindle so I could get back to my Grims.
The story for me just flowed well and the characters had good depth and their chemistry for me was off the charts. Even though there is some back history from Gidget and Smoke, them getting back together was done at a perfect pace.
I enjoyed the secondary characters, Trix, Boz, Brew, Addy, Round, Lisa, Lettie, and Hack. Even though they were involved with the storyline they didnt overshadow it's main characters.
These two authors really have gotten the MC world down for me. Its not pretty, its raw and gritty....Just how I like it.

I enjoyed the secondary characters, Trix, Boz, Brew, Addy, Round, Lisa, Lettie, and Hack. Even though they were involved with the storyline they didnt overshadow it's main characters.
These two authors really have gotten the MC world down for me. Its not pretty, its raw and gritty....Just how I like it.

Layton and Gidget have a history together since they were kids, they love each other, despite the judgment of their families. But an unfortunate comment of his father made them to have separate lives.
Gidget left, married and had a son. Now divorced, she returns to her parents' home to find out that even after his death, her father still brings problems.
After having been the target of beating of a rival MC, Gidget back to the care of the Grim Bastards and this time, Smoke/Layton won't let her go.
Gidget still loves Smoke, but now she needs to think of the little Parker.
In addition, Gidget's father AND brother were two rats within the MC, would the other members of the club think that she and her son deserve their protection?
A beautiful love that was going to happen but it was eclipsed by the hard life of a MC... Adults and with new responsibilities, Gidget and Smoke will have to pass on old wounds and prove to everyone that she is not like her father and deserves be Smoke's Old Lady...
I loved the story. Passion, drama and suspense.
Now I'm looking forward to the story of the next member of the club...

This story is about two people finding each other again, after many years apart, realize they still love each other, and find a way to get their happy ending. It is a second chance love story with steamy sex scenes, danger, and family. This story pulled me in and kept me hooked until the end. I enjoyed being in this world again with all of its characters.I hope to read Hack's story next!? This was a good read.

Layton "Smoke" Roundtree loved Gifget with every fiber of his soul but he made a choice to let Gidget go so she could live her dream. He has second guessed his choice since the day she left. Now Gidget is back and he knows he he can never let her go again. He realizes this means her son Parker too, but Gidget is weary of trusting Smoke again. With a rival club putting Gidget and her son in danger, Smoke pulls them close to protect them.
I just stumbled upon this series and it is fantastic. Smoke is a tough man, the only person he is soft with is Gidget and her son. It awakens he brooding beast he has become since they broke up and he becomes a remarkable man in doing so. Look forward to more in this series.

5+++ Smoke Stars
This series captured my attention from the first book until this one. Smoke's story was always the one I wanted and this did not disappoint.
Gidget and Smoke were raised in the same club (MC Club) and they fell in love. Smoke was just a prospect at the time so they had everything planned out. Gidget was going to become a nurse and Smoke was going to get his patch. But his father gave him some advice about being in the club and having a relationship is just not a good thing. So when Gidget's aunt said she would pay for her studies but only if she went away to study, Smoke decided to let her go. But he did it in such a horrible way that she would never want to come back again.
So years later Smoke is dedicated to his Club and avoids any relationship with women. And Gidget is divorced and has a son. So she decides to come back home and raise her son on her own.
Will this be their chance to finally have their happily ever after? Or will there be to many obsticales in their way.
Gidget father and brother being traitors to the club. Will Smoke finally have the one women he never forgot and the one women he has always loved.
There is something in this book for everyone. Romance, suspense, action, violence, sex and the chance to have a second chance with the love of your life.
Definitely a favorite, Smoke you did not disappoint me with your story.
Can't wait for Hack's story :-)

There is something in this book for everyone. Romance, suspense, action, violence, sex and the chance to have a second chance with the love of your life.
Definitely a favorite, Smoke you did not disappoint me with your story.

I must admit, the more I am reading this writing combination between Emily Minton and Shelley Springfield, the more I am loving it. Nasty Bastard very well may be my favorite one of this series. Maybe it is that second chance romance aspect, maybe it is the sexiness that is Smoke, maybe it is that connection between them that never fully severed itself, but whatever it was this book had my attention from the beginning until the end. Be prepared for a ride you may think you have the answers figured out for only for a twist to come up to make you rethink and re calculate it all. This is one book and series that MC romance lovers, like this book whore, needs to make sure to have on their TBR lists, and I am already wanting the next book right this very instant.

The fourth installment in its series, Nasty Bastard, kept the flow of blood, grit, sex, violence and ultimate sacrifice as both Emily Minton and Shelley Springfield captivate and wow readers again with their latest follow up.
I really enjoy this particular MC series as each story is so uniquely different from the rest and yet interwine with its counterparts so nicely.
I am definitely going to continue supporting these authors as they keep up delivering hit after hit!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. Smoke is a hardass he was in love with Gidget from the time he was 9 yrs old. When he finds out that she wants to go to college he allowed her to go by letting her down hard by listening to what his dad said to him. Fast forward to 13 yrs later. Her father n brother is missing or dead n she is told that the house she grew up in is vacant by Lettie who cleans up the place. To do find out what happens next u will need to read it you will not be disappointed

Smoke and Gidget! YUP! Complication … oh you bet. You know who Gidget is If you follow this series however if you do not you can read this as a standalone. And yes there is a cliffhanger. BOOM .. it’s a big one too.
Layton “Smoke” and Gidget were childhood sweethearts both raised in the MC. The Grim Bastards were home. Smoke had more of a decent upbringing than Gidget as her father was not around and eventually betrayed the club after Gidget had left. Nothing nothing other than wanting to spend the rest of their lives together, reality hits and Smoke drops Gidget. Leaving heartbroken Gidget leaves and takes her aunt up on the offer of attending college far away from the MC.
Fast forward years later Gidget is coming back home with her son. Her ex Richard vowed he would not try for custody if she left the house alone and went on her way. High society friends turned their back once they divorced even though Richard was the cheater. Coming back home Trenton becomes a huge mistake just hours after arriving. The men at her door are not friendly and she has no idea what they want. Gidget doesn’t know what her father and brother took but it cant be good. Protecting her son she takes a beating by a man she doesn’t know. (Triggers are possible here).
Smoke and the MC have become aware that money is missing from the MC. It could be no one else except for the traitor (Gidgets father) that is now in the ground. Heading to his old house he finds Gidget hiding with her son beaten and barely alive. Swearing right then and there he will never let her go again he will find the piece of shit that did this to her and make them pay.
This one is a roller coaster event. I love the fact that Trix is right by Gidget’s side knowing that it was her father and brother that harmed her. Family is family and Trix knows Gidget had nothing to do with any of that. The MC steps in to take care of Parker (Gidgets son) as well as her. But is this what Gidget wants? Can she trust this man again and is this the life she wants for her son? Danger, murder, and so much more surrounds the MC. Layton could walk away again and then what. Now she has Parker to consider. Staying could mean the world or heartbreak.
There is a doozie in here as well – Gidget takes a bunch of hits due to some cray cray folks. I loved this release as I have loved all the ones prior. I cant wait to see what the MC is up against now and who survives the fire.

I love this series and have since the very first book! Smoke and Gidget were childhood friends then high school sweethearts and both were brought up in the Grim Bastards. They had plans to marry after graduation and everything worked out even had a way for Gidget to go to school. However her aunt said she would pay for it if Gidget went to school in Kentucky which she didn't want to do. However after Smoke pushes Gidget away she takes her aunt up on her offer and leaves in an effort to start a new life without the boy she loved.
Fast forward and Gidget is back in Trenton with her son Parker. Her father,Stone, and brother are missing but since Stone was a traitor to the Grim Bastards Gidget figures the pair met with an untimely end. Smoke has become the VP of the club and when he finds Gidget beaten hiding in a closet with her son he vows that this time he won't let her go.

Hold on to your seats for another crazy ride in this series!! I am so happy that I have been along for the ride with this one. There is so much pain and hurt left from how Gidget and Smoke's relationship ended that it will be something that needs to be worked through and then not only do you have that but someone is threatening Gidget and there is someone that doesn't want them to be together again, stirring up problems. This was definitely a very good read that I was totally sucked into. Smoke will have you falling in love with him and Gidget is someone you can't help but to love.

They were together forever and Smoke had loved her since he was a kid but after his dad warned him about them being too young and her giving up her dreams it caused him to second guess whether they should be together. He pushed her away and broke her heart right along with his own. He never thought he'd see her again and now that she is back in town he is determined to get his woman back. Will he be able to get her to forgive him? Will others keep them apart? Will he be able to protect her from those wanting to hurt her?
I highly recommend this series. You could read this alone but I recommend reading the series so you get a better feel for the characters and what all has happened to get the MC where they are in and the new things occurring.

Almost immediately though, a vicious attack has her rethinking her decision to move home, especially when the guy who broke her heart 13 years earlier turns out to be the one who rescues her.
Wow, this is well a truly a second chance romance story. So in love and getting your heart broken as a teenager is brutal. Especially when it is so sudden and unexpected. Smoke and Gidget never stopped loving each other and Nasty Bastard sees them not only get to know each other again, but to try and put each other back together again. All with a cute little 4 year old boy along for the ride. I thought it was sweet how Smoke was with Parker, even though he seemed a little terrified of the little boy who would effectively become his son if he got his way and Gidget came back to him.
A good read, I’m looking forward to the next one. I give Nasty Bastard 5 stars.

I think I may start out every review for every book in this series saying this is my favorite book yet....but seriously this is my favorite book yet!! I can't really even explain why this is my favorite book yet but it really was. Smoke though made me want to slap the s*** outta him in the beginning. I get why he did what he did really but didn't make me less mad at him. And Gidget, *sigh* I just want to hug her and be her best friend. The whole story I just love her and want her to get her HEA. Parker(her son) had me cracking up. These ladies have it figured out when it comes to writing. And I'm so super excited every time one of their books hits my iPad because I know I'm going to love their story. I just finished reading this one and I'm already ready for the next one to be out!!! Love these ladies and their work!! Job well done again!

I loved this book, and I really wanted to kill Smoke/Layton in the beginning. Layton and Gidget have been together since they were kids. Layton finally gets his club patch, and wants to marry Gidget, however he decides to end things with her so that she can go to college. Fast forward years later, and Gidget is returning to town with her son to start over. Unfortunately, she walks right into some bad stuff with her dad. Layton comes to the rescue, and takes care of Gidget and her son. This story is about forgiveness, moving on, and being with your true love. I loved Gidget and Layton together. Parker was just too cute. Great job again and a wonderful book! ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

One thing that I absolutely love about this series is that the females are fearless wonderful characters. Don't get me wrong I love the guys but this series has exceptional females. And this book was no different. I loved Gidget.
Smoke and Gidget have loved each other forever. A very important night doesn't end up like either expect and they separate. After Gidget goes through a divorce and heads back home to the one place she swore she would never return to.
Seeing her again Smoke knows he made a mistake letting her go. Can he make things right after all this time?

We have another hit! Smoke and Gidget story is absolutely beautiful. I love second chance romances and this hit all my feels. Gidget is the one that Smoke pushed away when they were younger, but now she's back and he will do anything to make her his again. It seems Stone's traitorous actions continue to affect the brotherhood and more secrets are being revealed. Can Smoke prove to Gidget that she is everything to him? Or will Gidget be the one to push him away now.
Loved it. Very steamy and very sweet. The forgiveness was a little quick for my taste; I like it when the guy has to work a little bit harder for forgiveness.

Each book i read of this series get's better and better. They pull you in from the first chapter and leave you unable to put it down. Nasty Bastard is the 4th book in the Grim Bastards series and one i've been waiting for wanting to know more about Smokes past if you have read these books from the first we get some insight into his past but all it did was have me eagerly waiting for more. Emily and Shelley have laid the path to this read and what a read we got!!
Smoke (Layton) has loved Gidget since they were kids thinking their lives were all planned out even though they were so young they new they loved each other and thought they'd be together forever. But life always has it's twist's and turn's. Smoke listens to advice given by his father and thinks what he does next is for Gidget's best interest's he lets her go (bloody idiot)
Gidget is left heartbroken and moves away!
We jump forward quite a few years and through a series of events Gidget finds her self back home divorced and a single mother to a gorgeous little boy. But what greets her isn't hearts and flowers!
Smoke finds Gidget badly beaten and his heart breaks, he's never forgot or got over his first and only love. What also breaks his heart his hearing her son begging for them not to hurt his mommy not knowing who the men are. Smoke vows to never let anyone ever hurt either of them again and to never let them go.
Now before you think has she given away the whole plot think again if your fans of Emily Minton and Shelley Springfield you know this series has been full of angst, drama and emotion to know i've missed a WHOLE lot out.

The H and h in this book we’re both gross. And the h was probably the biggest doormat I’ve ever read about 🤷🏼♀️ the only good part about this book was the h’s son Parker, but he was never with the h there was always someone conveniently around to watch him and take care of him every second of the day so the h and H could have sex. Lol and his dad, the h’s ex husband who wasn’t in the entire book, just happens to pick up him up in the epilogue and take him to spend the day. Yes, the epilogue. Why? No clue. So that means he wasn’t in the first epilogue. Of course the h and H were mad, but it’s all good because it gives them a chance to have more sex. Pointless and brought a 2 star book down to a 1 star. There was another epilogue with the h pregnant and going into labor but he wasn’t in that either, even after she had the baby. Of course they had someone staying with them so they could watch him. The most irresponsible mom I’ve ever read about in a book.

Whew! I don't usually jump into a series this far on, but this book was just fine. The authors gave you just enough backstory that you aren't lost and can understand who the characters from the previous books are.
There were little to no typos. Well edited. Writing was great and conversations weren't stilted. Everything sounded natural.
There is good action in this book... lots of things happen. There are some sex scenes, but they don't dominate the story. The chapters are POV from each character. I would read this again in the future.

I really liked this second chance MC book. Slade has been one of my favorites and his and Gidgets story did not disappoint.
