In book two of the Haven MC: Kaden “Hawk” Cross is used to being in control of every aspect of his life: from his short stint in the military, to his VP position in the Haven MC. But when he meets a woman who threatens his control, he is reminded why he never makes rash decisions—they tend to come back and bite you. Charlie Rhoades is a woman who has always gone after what she wants. And taking a job across country that would give her the opportunity to look for the grandfather she never met made sense. What didn’t make sense? Is finding a man who heats her blood but seems totally aloof toward her. But being a bounty hunter, she isn’t easily deterred by his actions, she is more apt to be assertive. Good for her, not so much for the biker who would rather be the pursuer. On the outside, Haven MC is the typical motorcycle club filled with bikers—on the inside, they are men with the knowledge and abilities to keep not only their club safe, but their country. Missions come and go, but what keeps the men of Haven committed, is the unwavering brotherhood and the acceptance from the women who cross their paths.
Carson Mackenzie enjoys writing romance with a real feel inside the stories. She writes with the belief not every man is a jerk and not every woman needs saving.
Carson lives in the South with her son, a Great Dane and two adopted shelter dogs that keep the household in line. Books have always been a part of her life. There is nothing better to her than curling up and relaxing with a good story and losing herself in someone else’s world for a few hours.
Writing stories and growing as an author with each book is her goal. She wants to reach the level where a reader knows when they see her name on a cover, they can trust in the fact there will be a good story as they flip through the pages.
Carson’s journey into writing has only been for a few years. As she’s finally starting to settle in, she can’t believe she waited so long to start.
I smiled when I got an arc for Hawk’s Bounty, the second book in the Haven MC series. I consider Carson Mackenzie’s Black Hawk MC series biker book popcorn. They aren’t exactly War and Peace but they are usually entertaining. I had a few issues with the first book in this series, Snatched, but it had a good plot base and characters I wanted to know more about.
Hawk’s Bounty had some good things going for it. Charlie was an interesting heroine. A bounty hunter who could take care of business. She had a forthrightness about her I appreciated. Hawk was hot, bossy and alpha, all things I require in my biker heroes.
Charlie had moved to the area not only for a job, but she wanted to search for her grandfather as well. I thought this was an interesting storyline that I feel could have been taken deeper. As it was, even with the barebone amount of information shared, I figured out who the grandfather was immediately which was a bit of a letdown. I still liked it when it all played out, but it just had a feeling of missed potential about it.
I love the “sideline” the club has going for it and was excited we got to go along for an operation. I do wish there had been a bit more build-up of the action and suspense. When everything was said and done, I found myself saying “Wait, what?”. As presented, it had a couple plot holes that needed filling in.
The biggest problem with the book was that it is in dire need of editing. A few errors here and there I can overlook but with glaring mistakes on what felt like every page, it was more than I could deal with. At one point when one paragraph had four huge errors in it, I almost DNF’d. I never DNF over editing especially when it’s an author I like. I persevered and was glad I did.
This leaves me in a quandary. Hawk’s bounty was better laid out that the first book in the series, Snatched, and I also liked it better, but it was so full of errors that even I was bothered. Despite the issues, it entertained me hence my indecision. If it had been better edited this may have been a 3.5 to 4 star book but as it sits, I can’t justify that.
Rating: 3 Lots of Potential but… Stars

This the second book and it was a lot better then the first book. It was very funny. I love the characters interaction with each other. I love the ending. I would to read it if you love romance and MC books.

Not bad. I enjoyed Charlie's character since the beginning and i'm glad her character didn't change. She was outgoing, tough, funny with a touch of sweet, plus she can kick ass better than the men in this series. Though not a lot happened in this book as far as action goes, it did have its interesting parts, like Charlie finally finding her grandaddy. Everything else was straightforward and a little bland. I'm not asking for violence but action and mystery go a long way, still I did enjoy the book.
I was disappointed that I couldn't give this book four stars, hell even 4.5 stars as there were just too many grammatical errors. Enough for a reader to take notice and focus on how many more will be found. Errors in large quantities tend to distract the reader and I was sadden at seeing so many errors. With that being said, I have enjoyed this series and look forward to reading the next book..
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.

Hawk's Bounty (Haven MC Book 2) By: Carson Mackenzie "Hawk's Bounty" Is Definitely Gonna Snap HIS Control... She's a Bounty Hunter... Look'n for Prey! He doesn't take too kindly to being Chased~ As He's the Stalker, the Hunter, & by God... He's the PERUSER! Cuz He's a Rough, Tough Alpha, & a Totally Macho Type of Guy! Thus, He turns HER Down... Which She doesn't take Sooo well! And IT isn't until She's Sport'n some Color 'round Her Eye, THAT His Control is Shot to H€LL... That's when He shows Her, She's "Hawk's Bounty" & He cares! of course... She's NOT exactly to sure how to handle His CLAIM, As being "Hawk's Bounty" wasn't exactly what She came THERE for... Nor, WHAT She set OUT to obtain! I was granted an ARC of Carson Mackenzie's "Hawk's Bounty (Haven MC Book 2)" via B00|{$P®0UT. I recommend this book to others based upon its own recommendations. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given! Until next time... Happy Reading!
I really liked this MC read. Hawk and Charlie are great characters, Hawk is all alpha and Charlie knows just how to handle him. Their story is fast-paced with loads drama and suspense, the chemistry is steamy and the story holds your interest throughout. I liked it.
Another hit from Carson! Loved Hawk and Charlie's story. I really liked that Charlie has a backbone and doesn't take crap from anyone. This book has it all, a little mystery, a dash of drama, some action and of course lots of hot and steamy! Definitely didn't disappoint.
After reading the first book in this new series, Snatched, I wanted to give the second book a chance, along with the author. I was glad I did not but still completely impressed. Hawk's Bounty is the story of Carson, aka Hawk, and Charlie. This story picks up after the Epilogue from Snatched, so you really do need to read at least that if not the entire book first.
Hawk is the VP of the Haven MC club and is an alpha man who is always in control of himself and the situation he is in. Charlie is a strong and smart bounty hunter who is also always in control of herself and the situation she is in. Hawk and Charlie have a chemistry that is off the charts hot but because they both need to be in control there are fireworks all over the place but yet they each impact the other by putting them off their game.
I enjoyed reading this story but at the same time found the further introduction of so many characters to be confusing at times which made me go back to reread some parts over and over. As a reader this is more than frustrating and made me wish the book came with a chart or map of all the characters with their multiple names and how they were "related" to each other and the MC.
I need to also mention that there is still a need for a good editor and proofreader. There were a lot of mistakes that should have been easily corrected and would have made reading the story a lot more enjoyable. With that being said I still enjoyed reading this story and plan on continuing reading the Haven MC series to see what happens next.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
There's a prologue about the MMC (male main character) Hawk joining Haven, but by Chapter 1, the story leaps right to another time with a totally new character and very little background information. How much time has passed since the prologue? What's up with this character (FMC) Charlie? The beginning seems seriously random.
Meanwhile, there is this motorcycle club (MC), Haven MC, and we are introduced to a LOT of characters: Keg, Tram, Pinch, Moose, Crank, Roach, Shock, Freak, and of courses Hawk. They have real names and "club" names. So, for instance, "Moose" is also referred to as "Linc." It's like Russian novels. It's hard to know which characters we really need to pay attention to.
Then Hawk & some other MC members have some kind of mission to perform in some other city. Suddenly a general is involved, and requests for weapons are approved, and I'm like, "What????"
I start wondering if other reviewers are as confused as I am, but get no farther than to discover that this is Book 2 of a (so-far) two-book series about the Haven MC. Book 1 is Snatched, and both Hawk and Charlie are introduced in that book. Definitely read Snatched first. The epilogue to Snatched is the beginning of Hawk's Bounty.
Although I have to say, even after having read Snatched, there's plenty left that goes unexplained in this book.
Also, poor editing.

There was a cancer growing within the Haven Mc and Kaden Cross was just the man Wild Bill was looking for to help flesh out the trouble. Intrigue and hints of betrayal were present from the beginning in this well written MC drama/romance focusing on Kaden with his ex military intelligence background.
Cross/Hawke prided himself in always being in charge and having the upper hand in everything he did, including women. Charlie was no shrinking violet, and their assertive styles, jockeying for position made for some entertaining encounters. A bounty hunter from a surprisingly normal family, Charlie was intent on finding her grandfather and her attraction to Hawke along with his rejection of her advances had thrown her off her game.
More than the typical MC drama, this storyline was well written, easy to follow, with likeable strong and witty characters. I thought it was cute that it took Charlie getting hurt on the job to snap Kaden out of his hands off stance with her. His alpha protective mode took full force and he showed his hand to everyone, that Charlie was special to him.
Looking forward to more of this series!

Being a MC book, there are a lot of characters to keep track of but once I figured out who everyone was, I was invested enough to be curious about more of these characters. Told in dual POV, the book starts with Hawk and his background. The introduction of Charlie, however, was jarring. Charlie appears in the second chapter with a pizza and a proposition. Don’t get me wrong, I love a strong female character (she is a bounty hunter!) but I found her introduction unwieldy. As you read further, you understand that this was not their first meeting since they did meet in the previous book, but since this was my first book by this author I was not privy to this. This is a standalone. Reading the previous book is not necessary just helpful. I liked the other story threads so it wasn’t just a romance. I did find Hawk’s mission so secret that I didn’t know what it was until it was happening! Mild steam. A decent read.

ONE FAST AND FURIOUS DELIGHT!!! Feel the need! Carson really blows this bad boy out of the water. Taking some low blows. We have foes to fight, enemies to conquer and people to save. Just another day in paradise. A barrage of vexing circumstances and a slew of nerve racking surprises push those conflicting emotions to life smoothly. One thrilling storyline and explosive plot keeps spinning with so many twists and turns you're not sure which way is up. Pushing through all the trials and tribulations with so much intense drama, perilous danger and chilling suspense pulls this little gem together delightfully. The characters and their personalities are authentic, intriguing, well developed and relatable. Solid individuals who balance out and play off one another brilliantly. The scenes graphically detailed to give you a full understanding and realism that flows smoothly from each scenario without a hitch. Remarkable job Carson, thanks for sharing this incredible jewel.
Hawk was attracted to Charlie from the moment he laid eyes on her and the feeling was mutual. Charlie, however is used to going after what she wants. So when he turns her down, she doesn't take it well. Hawk wants Charlie but on his terms, when he is ready. That all goes out the window when she shows up at a club party with a black eye. Determined to take care of her, he takes her home and does just that. Charlie isn't used to feeling attached to a guy and isn't sure she likes it. This was another cute read. It was a little more focused on the relationship between Hawk and Charlie. I loved Charlie's reason for relocating to the area and how it all worked out. I do hope we get more of the guys' stories, hopefully Wild Bill, the MC president next!
This is book two in the Haven MC series. Kaden (Hawk) is an ex military man who prospected and has moved up the ranks in the MC to now hold the VP seat. Kaden likes to be in control of everything.....he is a thinker and rarely makes a quick, spur of the moment decision. Except for when it comes to Charlie. Charlie is a bounty hunter, a strong and assertive woman and she is searching for her Grandfather. Hawk and Charlie meet and sparks fly but is it because they are both strong willed, in control individuals or is it something more? Another great story for the Haven MC. This book could be read as a standalone but you may miss a smaller thing or two. I cannot wait for the next book!

This is the 2nd book of the Haven MC and Hawk is the VP. We were introduced to Charlie in the 1st book as Kate’s bounty hunter neighbor. To be able to follow along, you should read Snatched first because it will clear up any confusion with the characters.. She’s a beautiful red head who is tough, sassy, independent, kicks $ss and goes after what she wants and she has her eyes on Hawk. The chemistry between Hawk and Charlie is hot! Hawk is handsome, hot, bossy and all alpha. Good storyline that includes, suspense, humor and lots of chemistry. Looking forward to reading Keg’s Story next. I found it very entertaining.

This is the 2nd book in the ‘Haven MC’ series This one’s about Hawk (well he’s a man that likes to always be in control) and Charlie (she a bounty hunter and is his girl). Charlie and Hawk always compete to be the one in control, who will give it up in the bedroom. The character are exceptionally strong, the storyline has mystery, intrigue, drama and lots loving. Just jump on your bike and go for a ride. I’m sure that you will love it. Can’t wait for more.!!

Hawk's Bounty is a much better book than the first in the series. Charlie is a bounty hunter and well able to take care of herself. Hawk is the VP of Haven MC and wants to keep her safe. I loved Charlie and Hawk and the humor and sweet behind their interactions. I also liked how the author begins each book with how the main characters comes to be a part of the MC. My only wish would be for the author to be clearer when covering the real purpose behind their secret lives.

It was a quickie for me. I am liking this series the more I read of it. This book kicks off at just the right moment for me to be able to keep all the characters straight. It doesn't hurt that I have been introduced to them previously. Charlie is one heck of a A$$ kicker and I am glad that the author did not change her character. Hawk is sexy and smart with a bit of viciousness that make my panties a bit moist. All in all this book did not fall short and is leading into a fantastic biker series.

This picks up when Snatched left off... Charlie's a bounty hunter, and used to going after what she wants. Hawk is your stereotypical alpha bad boy biker, and he has to be in control. Always. They butt heads from the get-go. I liked this book better than the last one - the story seemed to make more sense, and didn't take so long to develop. I still love my biker romances though, and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

This is the second book in this new series about the Haven MC that isn't all that it appears to be and this is Hawk's story
He is a member of the MC and his girl his Charlie a bounty hunter the repartee between these two is hilarious but the jockeying for position is what sets the story about They both like to be in control at all times and he won;t admit that she is something special Which will yield control in the bedroom and will they admit that they are more to one another than a one night stand.
A biker's love cam be fierce, passionate and protecting. The loyalty written about Kaden for his club and to the woman getting his affections are a aspiration to look for. Charlie is a stirring independent woman whil gives as well as takes whatever comes her way. She is stubborn, fierce, protective and a loyal woman who loves with all of herself. It is a good read and I recommend to give it a read through.

Book two in the series brings Hawk and Charlie's story. The author bring another entertaining MC read with an interesting story line. I loved their characters and their fun bantering and hot sexy romance. The supporting characters help to bring the story around. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed treading.

Hawk is trying to forget his time in the military when he meets the Prez of the Haven MC Club. He offers him a chance to be a prospect. A few years later Charley moves to town working as a Bounty Hunter and looking for her Grandfather. She meets Hawk and the heat explodes between them sometimes not in a good way. This a great story.

A new author to me. I found the story a bit far fetched and lacking in realism but I do love an hero - alpha - male who’s moody and miserable towards everyone but his girl. This story is about Hawk and Charlie. I liked the story but the flow was off for me. The prologue was confusing and it took almost the entire read before I felt like I had grasped the story. My review would be between 3.5 and 4.

Hawk is an Alpha ,hot guy with a sweet side only for Charlie. Charlie is a independent woman, that likes to have control of her life but has to learn, with Hawks help, to loosen the reins and let him have some control. Especially in the bedroom. Great story with sweet, funny and strength. If you like MC stories this is a definite must read for MC romance lovers.

Book 2 in the series and another great 2 hours read, this time it’s Charlie and Hawk’s story. Both these are strong characters, and this does cause some issues at times, but it also leads to some great dialogue between them. Lots of action that kept me interested and meant that the book seemed to fly by. Looking forward to meeting more of this MC in the future books.

He has his family in the MC his goal is to keep his family in order and safe. When these two meet its electric but neither will admit defeat. Its a tense read.
