విభనజ కథ

రాష్ట్ర విభజనానంతరం, నా మిత్రులు సౌమ్యంగానూ.. విరోధులు కఠినంగానూ నా మీద చేస్తున్న ఆరోపణ ఒకటే..! 25-1-2013 రాజమండ్రి బహిరంగ సభ మొదలుకుని 20-2-2014 రాజ్యసభలో కూడా రాష్ట్ర విభజన జరిగిపోయేదాకా ఉండవల్లి ఎక్కడ మాట్లాడినా ''బిల్లు పాసవ్వదు'' ''బిల్లు పాసవ్వదు'' అంటూ ప్రజల్ని తప్పుదోవ పట్టిస్తూనే వచ్చాడు! దీనికేం సమాధానం చెప్తాడు - అని !! దీనికి నేనిచ్చే సమాధానం ఒక్కటే... 'బిల్లు పాసవదు' అన్నాను 'బిల్లు పాసవ్వలేదు' 18-2-2014 తేదిన లోక్‌సభలో బిల్లు పాసయ్యే పరిస్థితే వుంటే, తలుపులెందుకు మూసేస్తారు.. టివి ప్రసారాలను ఎందుకు ఆపు చేస్తారు... ఎంతమంది అనుకూలమో, ఎంతమంది వ్యతిరేకమో.. లెక్క కూడా పెట్టకుండా 'అయిపోయింది' అని ఎందుకు ప్రకటించేస్తారు!? లోక్‌సభలో జరిగిన 'ప్రహసనం' చదవండి.. మీకు అర్థం అవుతుంది, బిల్లు పాసవ్వలేదని...

If you have followed the TG & United AP movements from 2009-2014, many things might sound repetitive. But there are some interesting points: I hail from AP & I had a very strong opinion against the division when the announcement was made in 2009. Gradually reconciled to the fact (by 2011 or so) that it is an eventuality and it is in our best interests to care/demand about what is required for AP. Sadly, anyone proposing such things or even suggesting such things was branded a traitor of the united-Andhra cause (like Dr.JP of LokSatta, was). Arun Kumar garu also makes the same point in this book, multiple times. Only wish how could it have been had we been a little less emotional!

The other interesting and sad point is the way in which the division bill was passed in the Lok sabha. The author goes into great detail about how this might have happened, given that even Congress + BJP didn't have majority on that day (with most of the other parties opposing the process, or the move itself).
