Wow, the description of this book is misleading. It makes it seem like Brody picked her up at a club for a one night stand, she gets pregnant, and then he finds out about it months later. But that's not at all what happened. He's after a drug dealer. Erica is the last one to know where said drug dealer is but she's as high as can be so she needs to sober up before she can tell him anything. Somehow during this ordeal, they both fall in love with each other and THEN, at the end of the book, she's pregnant, blah, blah, blah.
This book needed some serious editing. There were sentences that just ended and then others that ran on and on. And the ending of it all was very convenient.

I have read the two other books in this collection, Jagged and Royal Ever After.
This book started out great for me and I found myself really enjoying it, but in the end it became a little unreal.
Brody: Brody came from a crappy upbringing. He was always getting beaten up and had no friends. As he got older, two brothers taught him how to fight and protect himself. Before long the Kelly brothers had their own business and made Brody their Enforcer. That meant that he took care of business by kicking people's asses when needed. Brody is sent to find out who stole the drugs that were to be delivered to the Kelly's that was worth a lot of money. And, that meant that when you messed with the Kelly's, that you would soon meet up with Brody, and the outcome was not good.
Brody found out who to talk to by enforcing his hand with a local snitch. So he went to the address that he was given to find the Dealer. What he found was not what he expected. So after he spoke with another addict that was at the empty address he was given, he found out the name and address of the junkie who could give him the information that he needed.
Erica: Erica came from a nice little family who worked hard to send her to college. She is pretty much a loner until her roommate pesters her enough to go to a party. Before long Erica finds herself addicted to Heroin, and drops out of the college. She once was a beautiful girl who had everything going for her. Now she is anything but beautiful. She can't remember the last time she showered, brushed her hair, put on make-up, etc. She has pawned and sold anything she had in order to get her last fix. She's done things sexually that she never thought she would. She's now living in a run-down building, on a filthy bed, and she's down to her last bit of heroin. As she's falling in to that happy place it takes her to, she sees a man standing in her room. He's yelling at her to give him information. She's so out of it. She barely comprehends what he's saying, as she's lying there with a needle sticking out of her arm.
The next thing she knows, is that shes waking up in a comfortable bed and in a apartment that isn't much better than her own. She has puke all over the place and she knows before long that she will need another fix, or else she'll start going through the pain of withdrawals.
Brody can't understand why he took this addict to his apartment. He knows he's going to have to answer to the Kelly's for it and probably lose a hand, or else his life.
Erica is scared and finds that she has no way to escape this brute of man standing in the room.
Before long the two of them find themselves in a near death situation.
Like I mentioned above... This story started out great for me. But... the events later on in the book were to unreal to believe. IMO!
