2017 was the 50th anniversary of The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album out in June of 1967 and this book covers everything from naming each face on the cover to the times, fashion, climate, changes, and overall vibe before, during, and after the album's creation. Chock full of pictures the book is a wealth of groovy times and information!
an interesting book, with plenty of pictures I've never seen before. The content is somewhat uneven, surprisingly my favorite chapter was The Look. There is a decent amount of repetition, as well as some goofs (the celebrities in the Pepper cover are confusingly misnumbered), but even the most jaded Beatles fan is likely to learn something, or at least get some good music recommendations. (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown!)
A fun look into a legendary album. I found some of the writing to be a little confusing and repetitive but it was interesting to learn about the culture/politics/influences of the time and about some of the people on the periphery of the album.
A beautifully visual book with a stunning cover and cool photos throughout that I hadn’t seen before. The history of that era was fascinating but my favorite section was on the sound and how the songs were created. Will always love The Beatles!
