I’m really liking where the author is going with this series. Those of you who’ve seen my reviews on the other books, or better yet read the books, will remember that I was confused about some other characters added in the previous book, but intrigued with how they would all tie together. Well, Saving Starfish, answered my questions.
In this fourth book in the series, we are again focusing on Kaleb, who is still reeling from his fall from grace. He is now a winged demon, complete with tail, and all as a result of saving his Honored One, Alex. Alex would have died from the curse he had received if not for Kaleb, but divine rules are divine rules and Kaleb has fallen.
Kaleb is doing Dominic’s old job and he is clearing the souls of people who have done wrongs to others. But more is in store for him. He is also able to do things unheard of for either an Earned, or for the other side of his family, the Witches.
The story is building and it doesn’t end in this book, so be prepared for another kind of mid-air ending. Lots of things happen to Kaleb on the journey, as well as to Pritchard and Alex and to the rest of Kaleb’s Earned family. I can’t wait to see where the story is going next! All the characters we’ve met along the way are starting to come together, the witches are rising, things are starting to get really good…
I was surprised when I finished the book and went to get the “info” to do my review. It says it is 313 pages long! I read it straight through, enjoying everything immensely and it was over way too fast in my opinion. The characters and world building are first rate, and the book was pretty flawless.
I highly recommend if you’re someone who enjoys paranormal speculative fiction and you aren’t reading Meraki P. Lyhne’s books that you start. She looks at the world in a slightly different way than the rest of us. What if there are Angels and Demons amongst us? Not to mention the Earned and the Witches. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!
