I received this book for Christmas in 1973. I finally read it at the end of 2022. Definitely a higher reading level than I was at in 1973! It was interesting to finally learn more about Babe Ruth from the perspective of a century later and 70 years after the book was written. Recommended for anyone over 10 who’s curious about Ruth or early baseball.

This is the first book I ever read, when I was very young and baseball was my only consuming passion. Because reading this book led me to read another, which in turn led me to read yet others, expanding my fields of interest, I am giving this book the full five-star treatment. As for the quality of the book, the writing and accuracy of information, it was aimed at young readers in a very different age and therefore doesn't have a fully rounded portrait of its subject; instead, it portrays Babe Ruth in the popular legend sort of way one would expect from a press agent.
