Onyx Webb #3

Onyx Webb: Book Three: Episodes 7, 8, 9

Rate this book
Welcome Back to the World of Onyx Webb. This is Book Three. (Episodes 7, 8, and 9) One reviewer describes it as: "A suspenseful ghost story with a light touch of horror, a heavy dose of gruesome, and a cast of characters where some, but not all, are exceptionally creepy."

The Onyx Webb series follows the unusual life of Onyx Webb along with a central group of characters in various locations and times. The billionaire Mulvaney family, piano prodigy Juniper Cole and her brother Quinn, paranormal show hosts Cryer and Fudge, and a few others make up the core of the series. Written like a book version of a supernatural soap opera, each character’s story moves forward with most every episode. It may appear that the characters are entirely unrelated and yet episode by episode, the connections will become clearer. Like being an inch away from a spider web, with each book, the web will move further and further away revealing the full story of every character and most importantly, the stunning conclusion for Onyx Webb herself.

In Book Three... It’s in the late 30's and Onyx and Ulrich have started a new life in Crimson Cove, Oregon. It’s 2010, and Koda Mulvaney is picking up the pieces of the latest tragedy and still looking for the girl in the mirror. Paranormal show hosts Cryer and Fudge have a run in with a ghost at the Open Arms. It’s the 60's and Declan Mulvaney is building the family fortune - a good intent with horrible consequences. Scroll up and grab a Book Three today! (Be sure to read 1 & 2!)

I'm loving this series.
The story continues and as it does more links and connections between the characters are revealed, it really makes for compulsive reading.
Onyx and Ulrich have finally settled down in Crimson Cove but Ulrich's missing the life and lights of the city, he's bored and restless which is not a good combination for him.
Koda can't forget the girl in the mirror but will he ever find out exactly who she is.
We're there when Declan makes his millions.
Cryer and Fudge struggle with their show.
There's so much going on here and I'm loving it but, and here's the problem before I started this series I checked the cost, I hate to commit to a series which is going to end up costing a small fortune, in fact if I'm being honest with so many books available either free or on Kindle Unlimited I tend to stick with them most of the time.
So I checked the first book and it was on KU as was the second and the third my mistake was not continuing on and checking the rest I just assumed if the first three books were on KU the whole series would be. It's not, so be warned to continue on the forth book costs £3.50 or $4.55 and the fifth one £3.46 or $4.50.
I'm annoyed I didn't check first.
####
Books 4, 5 and 6 are now on KU.

In this third installment of the Onyx Webb supernatural and ghostly soap opera/saga, authors Fenton and Waltz deliver the most exciting and creepy story (stories) to date.

In episodes 7, 8, and 9, the story takes us to different and later time periods than the first 6 episodes, bouncing between the 30's, the 60's, and the near past. It's no surprise that Onyx Webb is dead, as that's told without secrecy from the very beginning. The real mystery is how did Onyx become the ghost that we already know she is and that was revealed in this installment, which I have been anxiously waiting for. The authors threw out several surprises concerning her death and as I've said from the beginning, each time I think I've figured it out, I'm wrong. Time and time again.

This series of episodes also contain a lot more of the ghostly activity that I've been wanting. Not only are there the ghosts that we've come to expect -- the poltergeists and spirits of a typical haunting, but some of the newly introduced characters have some ghostly ties, which were very interesting indeed. As the stories progress, as more and more of the characters' histories are revealed, the mysteries deepen rather than become clearer, and that's one of the highlights of this series. I have to say, hands down, my favorite character in this installment was Declan and his history. His childhood at the orphanage was heartbreaking and the poor guy hasn't escaped that, as sadness has followed him into his early adulthood. He's also a super-savvy businessman, and he certainly earned every bit of his fortune, thanks to his cunning business ways.

As I stated before, the established and favored characters are still at the heart of this series, and the authors have introduced several new and interesting characters that, of course, tie into their lives somehow and someway. Ever so slowly, the ways the characters connect are revealed through each episode and with these new and compelling characters, I can't help but think that the best is yet to come. Long after I finish these stories, I'm left with wanting more. Not because the authors left something out, but simply because I've become so invested in the Mulvaney's and Dane, Onyx and her bastard husband Ulrich, and the many more characters that I've grown to both love and hate. And just when you think a certain character's story has already been done and told, well then they show up again. That's what makes this so interesting and absorbing, you never know what the authors are going to do and who's going to show up.

Bottom line -- this has been, by far, the most engaging set of episodes to date, and that's saying a lot because the first two sets were super good. If you haven't yet, give this series a chance. It's got a little of everything and it's not your typical ghost story. There's a bit of horror, a bit of humor, a bit of several love stories...really, a bit of everything. All centered around a character whose story will truly break your heart, several times over.

**Many thanks to the author for providing a copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

As the author’s promised, these next three episodes start tying together the characters from past to future.

I knew things were going to be revealed. I knew it would get darker, scarier. And I knew there would be new mysteries and questions.

What I didn’t expect was for this story to explode. I couldn’t believe how excited, grossed out, and happy I became. I can’t begin to imagine

Every time I thought I knew something, especially about Onyx, I was given another enigma. It’s no secret that Onyx is dead, it’s the how that I can’t seem to put my finger on. And every time I started to feel bad for her, something horrific happened and I remembered the Onyx I met in the first episodes.

As old characters entered the story, and new ones were introduced, I got more excited to read what was in store for them. These authors pull no punches and I bet they laugh and high five each other when something particularly dastardly culminates when they put their heads together.

So many breath stealing scenes make these some excellent new episodes. My non writer description of the Onyx Webb series so far: scattered, covered, and smothered in dark delicacies.

I hope I’ve teased you enough to give this series a go. I promise you, it’s hypnotic and unpredictable. Oh, and addictive. I should also point out, it’s meant to be read in order so make sure you start at the beginning.

I received this book for my honest review.

Suspense, reveal, answer questions, more suspense!

I obviously haven't had enough with this series with its bounty of character stories, mystery, and suspense. With each page, questions are answered only for the next page (and sometimes the same page) to make way for more questions and yet another mystery to solve.

The authors do a wonderful job... (more via website)

Book Synopsis
Onyx Webb wants a peaceful and content life to share with her husband and after all they have been through Ulrich wants to to settle too. They find a perfect spot, a lighthouse in Crimson Cove, beautiful, peaceful and honest. Recent events begin to catch up with Ulrich and the only way out he can see is to kill Onyx.

Koda Mulvaney is reeling from the death of his best friend and as a result he is thrown head first into the world of Parapsychology and experiences some paranormal events that put him back on the case of 'the girl in the mirror'.

Tommy and Declan have grown up and grown apart. Tommy is in with the Mob and Declan is plotting to make his vast fortune, though they are still drawn together by a few individuals and their poor decisions.

The Onyx Webb series is an incredibly deep and divergent course of events spanning over a century. From paranormal and supernatural experiences to the horror of human behaviour, Onyx Webb grabs you and won't let go.

My Thoughts
Thank you to Andrea for sending me this instalment for review here on Always Trust In Books, it is appreciated! Episodes 7-8-9 are absolutely brilliant, with events are now beginning to come full circle and all the pieces from the last two books are starting to fit together nicely to produce an epic first act to a 9 book series. Book 3 is definitely the most solid of the series, with three main plot lines and fewer deviations from the core content.

Book 3 elaborates more on Koda, Declan/Tommy and Onyx than anything else. Building up Onyx's lore is brilliant and she is already becoming the ghost story of the century. Koda is stepping further into the paranormal world instead of breaking the surface and returning to reality. Koda and Robyn are still devastated by the loss of Dane and the funeral sets Koda on a course to begin looking into 'girl in the mirror' all over again which I am excited to see developed in the next books!

Do I sound like a fan boy...? Well I am. I am completely honest though and I really don't have that many negative comments on the content. I was interested to see new and important themes being included such as race/racism, how society has changed us over the years and heavier paranormal/supernatural content. There were some hard to digest themes and scenarios in this book, I found myself upset and enraged by some of the characters actions (I know it is fiction but I am thoroughly invested!).

Similar to the other two instalments of this series, Book 3 has all the personal touches and flourishes. These elements make this such a reading experience. From journal entries, dedications and notes to quotes and inspirations.

I recommend Book 3 to all those that enjoy a bold episodic series, with plenty of paranormal/supernatural and ghostly content. The Onyx Webb series is mainly rooted in horror, but it is the spectrum of horror that makes this book shine, from ghosts to real life human monsters and beyond. This series is consistently awesome and I always look forward to reading the next episode and following Onyx Webb rise to platinum ghost status!

On the run, Ulrich and Onyx have found relative happiness in Crimson Cove, but a shocking revelation causes Ulrich to, once again try to take Onyx’s life. The time, late 1930’s. Will he succeed this time or will Fate steal his victory from his grasp? What of Onyx? Will this be the event that gives life to her ghost?

Will the brilliant entrepreneur, Declan Mulvaney have his revenge on the orphanage he was tormented in? His tormentors are gone, but the building still stands as a reminder of the evil inflicted on innocent children. Do the spirits of those victims still roam the halls? Learn how Declan went from an orphaned child to the billionaire he is now. Understand the relationship between Declan and Koda, who has seen the gifted pianist in the mirror.

What of the Paranormal Investigators, Cryer and Fudge? What will happen when they go “live” just before the demolition of the orphanage? Will they finally find proof of ghosts and spirits?

The threads of each tale are coming together through time, the characters are about to begin their own journey to toward a finish, and Onyx’s final demise will come to light. Like a Kaleidoscope of colors, each event changes the collage with just one more twist of the story and we are taken deeper into a world of darkness, deceit and spirits from beyond as this continuing paranormal soap opera gives us answers while raising more questions, while leaving us begging for more!
Onyx Webb – Book 3 by Andrea Waltz and Richard Fenton gives us characters to both love and despise, events that will leave us breathless from the anticipation of the unknown yet to come.

Back with episode 7, 8 and 9, answers are finally here, for some. The mystery still stands for the mysterious girl in the mirror, but Onyx's story is progressing well, as with Declan's and Koda's. I am intrigued as I follow everyone into their journey. The pace is different for each character, and judging by level of importance, some times the story goes quickly.

Koda: The girl in the mirror finally has a name, but her connection to the story is still unknown. I can't wait for the next installment, hopefully I get more answers, and what happened to her is a story that I do not want to miss.

Onyx: her husband Ulrich gets to reprieve, for a moment there he thought they were safe, but the past catches up quickly with him. Will Onyx still be the clueless girl after this? I doubt it, she is not totally dumb, but chooses to turn a blind eye, so far she's been lucky but not really sure if that would be her downfall.

Declan: I wondered why Koda is rich as, and what was his relationship with this guy Declan. In book 3, the story confirms some things, and finally links the two together in ways that is intriguing yet dark. I prefer Declan's story most, because his is probably the most painful and Declan is one of my favorite characters in the series.

Even with multiple characters, this book is not hard to follow. My biggest trouble the time line as it is not linear, it jumps from past to future and vice versa, like seeing a stone being thrown from the past and see it ripping to the future. It works for the series, but I just have trouble as I don't always read the title and date before the contents. It takes a few paragraphs for me to remember who is where.

To read Onyx Webb 3, you do have to read from Episode 1 or Book 1, since this is a continuum.

Waiting and waiting for Onyx Webb to die? Think you figured out how she perishes? I’ll take bets you’re wrong. Think you’ve figured out who the girl in the mirror is? How about Declan; do you have his full story yet? Book three of the Onyx Webb series throws a few curve balls. Follow Onyx and Ulrich as they start a new life in Oregon. Take a peek into the lives of two new characters and their ghostly reality show. Finally, dive head first into the lives of the three Mulvaney men; you may be surprised what you find there.

I want to preface this review with a slur of incoherent curse words. For the sake of professionalism, I won’t. Still, I am dying to get my hands on the next installments in this series. I cannot stress enough, how incredible this series is turning out to be. I confessed in my review of book two, that I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to convey just how amazing these books are.

I appreciate that the authors (Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz) finally gave us the death of Onyx Webb; I won’t spoil it for you by telling you how though. Finally, Koda gets a name to his mystery girl in the mirror, though I wasn’t shocked to find out I was right about who she was. (I don’t think that was meant to be much of a mystery) I am intrigued by the new set of characters as I think Olympia will (hopefully) play a bigger role in the upcoming succession of books.

I can happily say that Onyx Webb continues to be thought provoking, mysterious and fun. The third installment wraps up a few loose ends while simultaneously creating more. I can’t wait to grab ahold of book four and see just how intricately connected these characters are

>Book Review - Onyx Webb -

>I am an independent reviewer. This is book 3 in the Onyx Webb series and contains episodes 7, 8, and 9.

>This installment of the episodes and stories surrounding Onyx Webb focus mostly on Onyx herself and the Mulvaney's. The reader gets an understanding into how Declan Mulvaney made his billions. So many bits and pieces from previous episodes are coming together slowly. The way the story turns into itself, revealing a flash of understanding, while going off in another direction is amazing to me. The complexity of the plot, not just in each book, but the whole series is brilliant.

>I feel real sadness for Onyx. She was such a sweet woman caught up in a rough life. The time period she lived in made escape through divorce almost impossible. This is not a book you can take multiple days to read. Once the book is started, almost nothing can get you to stop until the book is finished.

>This book is appropriate for a young adult (16+) to adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars.

once again another great book in this series. I so love these books and cant wait til they come out so I can read them. I love how the stories go from one decade to another and all the characters and every time I read the books, I just cant put them down. they are like episodes from a TV series. really good books about paranormal. very interesting read. I am finding the more I read them the more I'm hooked on these books. they are fantastic. cant get enough of them. makes me want to re read them over and over. and in this book I shouldn't say it but am glad Ulrich is no longer around. Poor Onyx and all she had to put up with with him .

This series just keeps getting better. Finally we learn how Onyx dies and it was definitely in an unexpected way. Yet again the intermingling of time shifts is masterfully done and easy to follow.
The Mulvaney family are proving to be my favourite characters. We gain a deeper insight into the tragedies that have befallen this family and also learn the origin of their wealth.

The next instalment can't come soon enough. The cast of characters is becoming more intertwined and I am anxiously awaiting for the web to tighten

Onyx fled with her husband, Ulrich, from Las Vegas. She is very ill, so when they end up at the orphanage, Open Arms, Onyx and her husband decide to stay there until Onyx feels better. In a small town Ulrich finds the perfect home for them. This place will also be great for hiding out. Ulrich had an affair and stole money from his mistress's family. The family is still trying to hunt him down, so Ulrich can be held accountable for his actions. Onyx is an incredibly kind and sweet woman who has always stood by her husband. She still loves him dearly and will follow him anywhere. When the truth is beginning to unravel Onyx has no choice but to open her eyes to reality. Ulrich is not the man she thought he was. Now Onyx must make a decision. Will she keep quiet like she always does or will she decide to go down fighting?

In this third book of the Onyx Webb series the stories of existing characters continue and deepen.

There's more background information about Declan Mulvaney, for example how he became rich and which sacrifices he had to make along the way. His son Bruce is still a successful businessman who didn't have an easy start in life. He supports his father and will always put his family first. Kane Mulvaney is a changed man since he saw a piano that started playing on its own and spotted a ghost girl in a mirror. He is mesmerized by what happened and is determined to find out who she is. Kane is also trying to find his purpose in life and he's becoming a responsible young man.

Tommy grew up with Declan in the orphanage. They have always been best friends. Tommy and Declan stood up for each other and helped one another out when this was needed. When they became adults they parted ways, but their friendship has always stayed intact. Both of them have difficult decisions to make. I liked it a lot that even though they stood on different sides they never forgot what they mean to each other. These two men are courageous and loyal.

Every episode starts with a personal note from the authors. They dedicate it to someone who is special to them and they thank the fans who are making their work possible. There is also a track list of the songs they were listening to while writing that specific episode. Because of all of this I really feel the love the authors both have for their characters and especially for Onyx. They're extremely dedicated to their work, which is truly inspiring. The connections between the characters are becoming more clear now and I found myself completely hooked on how the stories continue. Onyx Webb is an addictive series that I highly recommend.

Advice

The stories can't be read as standalones, in order to understand the characters and their histories you'll have to start with the first book and read in chronological order.

We return to the story of Onyx Webb and those around her. Onyx and Ulrich have settled in Crimson Cove. But Ulrich something happens and Ulrich tries to kill Onyx again. Koda is still obsessed with the girl in the mirror while we learn of how his grandfather, Declan, makes his riches. Then there is Cryer and Fudge, their ghost hunting show is not going as well as they hoped. Hopefully filming the destruction of the orphanage will prove there really are ghosts.

Just when you think you might know where the story is heading, you are wrong and it goes in the completely opposite way. I keep thinking we will learn of how Onyx Webb died but we just keep skipping by. I loved the story of Declan. The poor man has been through hell yet he has persevered. I can’t blame him for wanting to tear down the orphanage.

This is a wonderful series. You have several people, across a large time period, with an individual story. But the more you read the clearer the connections to each person becomes. You are constantly guessing at what is going to happen next and being proven wrong. This is a great series and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.

I am so glad I already have Book III, so I didn’t have to wait to find out what was coming next. Each book has gotten better, for me. I am hooked and this is one series I will read to the end.

Started right out with a murder. How can I not love that?

So much action and the suspense climbs to a new level. Sometimes it seems the characters have no redeeming qualities, but the bad they do is forced on them, other times they feel obligated, want revenge or to avenge the wrong done to someone they know. I feel I need to let go of my attempts to judge them and try to walk a mile in their shoes.

And now for the tragedy…

OMG I can’t believe the authors did that!!! Fabulous, horrific! I am so sad for…

The developing story has reached a mind blowing level…engrossing, nailbiting, sit on the edge of your seat intense reading…unputdownable…

It is rare that I read a series that keeps getting better and better but Andrea Waltz and Richard Fenton have far surpassed my expectations with Onyx Web and I can’t ask for any more than that!

This award winning series has been on my “TBR” (to be read) list for a long time. You may wonder why. After all, I don’t usually read books with paranormal and horror elements. However, this series has so much going for it and really has a bit of something for everyone. My favorites are the historical elements wrapped in literary prose.

I am also a huge fan of quirky characters and the ‘Onyx Webb’ series has quirky characters galore, including Onyx, herself! These characters are also unique in that they are not all even living! Of course there is plenty of humor along the journey through the series.

There are lots of creepy elements but nothing this wimp, couldn’t tolerate and they really added to the story. It’s quite difficult for me to describe the plot to you because there is so much going on but you can read the three book descriptions below. Be forewarned, this series is addictive and you must start it from book one to really know what’s going on. Book one sets it up. I can hardly wait to dig in to books four, five, and six! You cannot read just one!

I am so glad that when I won book 4 from the giveaways on Goodreads.com that it also came with books 1-3. You have to read these books in order and I am not sure it's possible to just stop reading them. I only have book 4 left to read and then I will have to purchase books 5-10. But wow, these books are so addictive. I find myself so engrossed in the story that I completely ignore everything else happening around me. What a tangled web Onyx has weaved.

If you are just stumbling on to this page as your first introduction to Onyx Webb - my advice is: read these books in order. So much happens in book three. We find out more about Declan and Tommy. We find out the ultimate fate of the living Ulrich and Onyx. I really like the new character Olympia. I'm lucky in that I've got book four to reach for right away because when it comes to Onyx Webb - I just can't stop!

Good series

This series is starting to feel slow. The plot is good, action great, but could have been done in fewer books. HOWEVER, I am hooked, so will continue.

When I started this series, I never expected to be so caught up in it. Here we are 9 episodes later and I still can’t get enough of Onyx Webb. It just keeps getting better with each episode. I can’t wait to begin the next book in this quirky, yet entertaining saga.

In this installment, I was given insight into how the lives of my favourite characters have progressed. Ulrich is still up to no good. The actions of his past have come back to haunt him, forcing him to renew his mission of killing Onyx. Will he succeed this time? I learnt how Declan Mulvaney went from being a poor orphan to the billionaire he is today and what he lost in the process of building his empire. It explored in detail his relationship with his grandson Kouda. My suspicions, about whom the girl in the mirror was, were finally confirmed.

The characters intrigued me from the outset and I was eager to learn more about them. I was curious to know what influenced their decisions. I could not help but like them, from the villains to the not so perfect ones. What made it even more intriguing was that some of them were not even among the living. The fact that they have gone unnoticed is a mystery within itself. New characters were introduced which has added to the mystery. I am eager to find out what is their role in this tangled web.

It was interesting how the authors incorporated real life events into the story, which helped to give it a realistic feel. It was filled with twists and creepy events which were no surprise, as this was what I have come to expect from this series. The stories switched between different time periods, however, it was easy to follow. Eventually, as you progress through each episode the connection between the characters will become clear. The story was fast paced, intriguing, entertaining, addictive and well written. This is the type of story that will push you to go outside your comfort zone when it comes to reading a particular genre.

Verdict:
If you love ghost stories and mysteries, you will enjoy this series. Even if you are not a fan of ghost stories, I would recommend that you give this one a try as you may be pleasantly surprised.

ONYX WEBB: BOOK THREE: EPISODES 7, 8 & 9 was recently released, after a longer than expected wait, but the wait was worth it. This ongoing serial novel (the originally disclosed plans call for a total of 10 "books', each about 250 pages, and each containing 3 "Episodes") by a husband and wife writing team (Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz) features absolutely great writing, intricate and interweaving plotting involving several main characters in addition to the eponymous Onyx, and a non-linear time frame, all of which are wrapped around a supernatural thriller motif with an addicting plot. Billionaires, the Mob, Ghost Hunters, ghosts (more than one turn out to be principal characters), poison, murders and more all play key roles in this highly original series.

It's difficult to summarize ONYX WEBB: BOOK THREE: EPISODES 7, 8 & 9 since, as I said earlier, this is but a piece of a serial novel. But this entry involves several key deaths, an origin story for the wealth of the Mulvaneys, and significantly advances the stories of all of the main characters introduced in the first two books. Sorry, but I can't do much better than that. You can't start here. You have to start with BOOK ONE and proceed from there.

It's worth repeating how good the writing is. Fenton and Waltz are pros, even though this is their first foray into fiction (they have published several non-fiction books previously). It's smooth and by turns humorous and creepy, and most of all exceptionally well paced. Although it jumps back and forth among several different time periods (1930s, 1960s and 2010), within each era time proceeds linearly. It is not at all confusing, but rather like reading several different narratives evolving in parallel. It's a great literary gimmick that Fenton and Waltz use very effectively.

Very Highly Recommended (along with the 2 preceding and the 7 subsequent BOOKs),

Onyx Webb Series (book 3) by both Richard Fenton and Andrew Waltz is the most fascinating yet thrilling series readers will ever find. Talk about unique, suspenseful, and exciting. With every page, readers get closer and closer to knowing how the series all ties in together. So many interesting characters and roles it's hard not to love the passion behind every episode written by this duet.

A woman who loves her husband and yet he is too busy sitting in from of the TV to bother with her. Then there's the affair he has...and it causes his wife to go into an extreme makeover. Sympathy can easily be felt for the woman. Then, there's a ghost trying to piece together certain facts to solve...and a man who fakes his death using certain software...

There's never a dull moment inside the Onyx Webb Series (book 3). Episodes 7-8-9 will leave readers hanging in suspense until the next brilliant book is here. Mystery solving is absolutely fun when reading this spectacular novel. Another scene like that of a woman rising up above her body while wolves devour and tear her apart. She knows fighting is the only way...but can she?

Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz have masterfully woven a combination of genres and themes to create this highly addictive series that readers won't be forgetting. This novel is the kind that readers will be reading over and over again. So much to love when reading the Onyx Webb Series. There's a little of everything and a wide range of characters to satisfy every reader's taste. The plot is fast-paced, intriguing, and well-written. The characters are well-developed and will hook readers in from the beginning to end. Overall, I highly recommend the Onyx Webb Series to readers worldwide.

I received this book to give an honest review.
I have to say with these books I love how the authors have them broken up into episodes. With the way each book ends you are left with a mild cliffhanger but nothing too major. If that makes sense. We get to find out how Onyx Webb became a ghost and it is a bit sad she had to go out the way she did. Though before she died we learn that she was going to be tried for murder and it seems that the D.A. stills wants to file charges though Onyx is no longer among the living.

Koda is still dealing with the death of his friend and seeing ghosts still, along with finding out that his grandfather Declan use to be one of the children in the orphanages. He also can not forget the girl in the mirror. Though what will happen when he finds out who she is?

We get to learn a bit about how Declan became the man he is today. For me it was kind of a surprise. With his story we also get to meet Mary Ann and I felt a bit bad to what she had to resort to so she could make ends meet.

We also see how Nathaniel and Olympia are struggling with their show and who is this stick boy that comes into play? What kind of ghost is he if he is even considered a ghost. Who knows?

You know the authors have done a wonderful job with how they just not only pull you into the story, but also with the characters. They do a great job with having them come into play at just the right moment. Everyone is linked in some way but we never fully know how. So much goes on within the book but it works just perfectly. Can't wait to finish up the series to see what else is going to come about.

Book three in the Onxy Webb series gives us episodes 7-8-9 for our enjoyment. If you haven’t started reading this series yet, you really need to. It’s fantastic. Read my other reviews on the first two books, if you’re curious, or you can skip it and order copies. Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz have this amazing ability of creating a world that is like a southern version of Twin Peaks mixed in with a bit of Blair Witch Project, add in some Driving Miss Daisy, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and any other slightly spooky or kooky story (or movie) you can think of that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and turning those virtual pages, oh, and a serial killer.

And it’s not only the characters…although, really, it IS the characters, but Fenton and Waltz, it’s as if every word is like a seed that is carefully planted in a bed (dialogue/scene) that is well-laid out as if an award winning landscape architect mapped it all out. And yes, I’m comparing the text to plants because the language is too well done not to.

I love this series for its eccentricities, for the love of language, for the stories. And you will too.

When you read a series of books, how often do they get better with each one published? Book Three of Onyx Webb has been my favorite so far. In the first book, the setup was incredible, but I wondered if the writing dared to go any farther than the insinuated darkness--mostly just glanced over or tip-toed around. In Book Three, the story works into the dark state that the previous books seemed to only hint at.

Everything is so well written, and obviously well researched. The places the characters travel are so vivid and beautiful, and I love each and every one of the characters to pieces. It's so rare to find a good character-driven story these days that make you laugh and cry along with the characters. The paranormal part of the story is never cheesy. Anything out of the ordinary is never too over the top, it's always sprinkled in with the facts to ensure the reader is left believing it all.

I'm already halfway into Book Four. I can't put these books down. I received this book in exchange for an honest review -- I'm a seriously lucky lady!

I regret not waiting to find true love. Having been in such a rush to live, I forgot to be true to myself.

I regret believing I could find peace and happiness in any place other than within myself.

I regret not having the courage to find courage sooner.

Sometimes the universe provides us with an opportunity to set things right. When it does, I've learned to take it.

-- Onyx Webb

It is now a fact: I love Onyx Webb. She is beautiful and smart and amazingly astute for a woman who has been dead since 1937.

The storyline, which has jumped back and forth and all over the country is now beginning to come together in this third of the proposed ten-book series. Count me in for the whole ride.
