I’ve fallen for Taylor. When we first met, I was an idiot and didn’t realize she was a bombshell. But when I kissed her, sparks flew. Not sparks. Fireworks. I’ve tried to deny my feelings for weeks, but I can’t keep doing it. Relationships aren’t for me, not after the way I got my heart crushed. But I can’t help wondering if a relationship would be different with Taylor. Maybe it would. But then an unnecessary obstacle comes my way.

Good lord, I wanted to shake these two! This book was frustrating. There is a whole lot of non-communication going on that would have set this couple on the right track if they would just talk. Based off the ending, it looks like we are finally going to get somewhere on book 3! My nerves are shot but I need to see these two get it right! ARC provided by author.
Although I like this author, I'm not sure about the storyline. She made the female character seem dumb. It's not realistic. How could you have a friend (male) and have no idea that he's had feelings for you? I would know immediately! She comes across as dumb and very naive. I didn't like that about her.
We continue on this roller coaster of a journey, this time truly focusing on what’s going on with Taylor and Volt. There’s so much with these two that you want to spend one chapter smacking your forehead and another chapter wondering what you ever worried about
Throughout this second installment, we see Taylor trying to find her footing even more so in NYC – teaching which is a mess, her friendship with Volt which is great some moments but a mess at other times, and then trying to find romance which keeps biting her in the butt. She’s friend zoned Volt, although there are so many moments when even she wonders if that’s what she’s done. She tries to date other guys and even seems happy with them but some how Volt always comesback into the mix, either needing her, protecting her or just being there in general.
At the same time, in this book we see Volt really get a bit more depth. We know that he’s a bit walled off because of his past break up but in this book we see him become the kind of guy that you want to see as a father – he find a kid who really needs his help in school through tutoring in the hopes of getting out of his low income, bad family situation. The kid, Clay is a teen who’s father is an addict and who hits him, and Clay’s only hope at success is to go to a college and get away. Volt finds a way to become a mentor and a friend to this kid and while he does that, he realizes that there’s more to him than meets the eye.
Every time it seems like Volt and Taylor take steps in the direction of ‘more than friends’, we see steps back. Relationships get in the way, drunk moments get in the way – mishearing information also gets ijn the way.
So…on top of this duo, we also get to see a tease at what’s going on with Jared and Natalie. Natalie finally sees that she’s never going to get what she wants from jared and starts to move on, but of course once he realizes that maybe she’s off the menu, he’s interested. We don’t see truly how that plays out but i’m sure there’s a story there.
So, we’re left in a moment of pain and weakness with our characters, a trip home opens eyes for people, a fear of losing a job forces us to reevaluate and the revelation of identities that will likely come out in the next book are just on the tip of what’s happening. We know that Volt’s dad, the principal is going to come out and hurt his chances with Taylor once she realizes who he is, and we know that once Sara discovers that Volt. is her ex and Volt realizes that his crush is best friends with the girl who crushed his soul, the crap will hit the fan. I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
okay. wow i'm irked. i don't think i've ever given a book on this site 1 star before but i've had it with this series lol. i already didn't like the first book that much, but i gave this one a try just in case it got better. instead it got even worse. this whole book made me want to rip my hair out, it was frustrating from start to finish. not only did it feel like absolutely /nothing/ was happening, besides taylor and volt being in denial about liking each other, but so many dumb problems came up just because taylor was being dumb and refused to accept volt liking her. even when he did obvious AF things like taking a bath with her. omg. i know it's just a book and it's not that deep, but i can't understand why this has such amazing ratings. i'm almost upset i spent money on this book, it was that bad. i definitely won't be continuing the series, cause to be real we all know it'll eventually end with taylor and volt together and it'll just take 2 more books of them running in circles around it. ok i can't believe i really ranted like this over a book but....damn i was so irritated when i finished reading. i'm sorry to anyone who actually enjoyed/enjoys this series but i just can't get on board

Spark Electric series 2 E.L. Todd Author review 3 driving me crazy Stars
So I think this review will be short and sweet. Best way to describe it – ever see those kitten videos with the mouse on a string, put it front of the cat, then tear it away at the last moment, then do it all over again? Yep that right there is Spark.
It seems the “friendship “ that Volt and Taylor share is strong, but with her ignoring her feelings for him in favour of another man, and Volt who just seems to torture himself. I kind of hoped by the middle of this book, they would have got their shit together and decide one way or another whether they make a real relationship instead of the insane drunken almost hook ups.
This really got to me the constant circles of this story. I’m seriously hoping book 3, Burn will give answers, or sadly I’ll be out for book 4. If you love heaps of drama this book and series is perfect. I like a little bit, but not Never ending pages of it.
This is the continuing story of Taylor and Volt. Volt is still hung up on his love for Taylor but Taylor can't or won't see it, even when it's blazingly obvious to everyone else.
Taylor can't see Volt as more than a best friend yet she keep choosing him over her boyfriend, I can't believe she is that naive. Volt tries all sorts of things to keep his mind off Taylor, but nothing is working and he won't give in and tell her how he feels.
I want to see how it will continue, with them together or apart. I did like Clay,he gave the story another dimension.
Spark is book two in the Electric Series. This romance story continues with more suspense, more drama, more chemistry between the two main characters, and so many unknowns. Just when you think you what what is going on, the author adds another twist to throw you off. The questions just keep piling up as the story unfolds and by the end you are left captivated, intrigued, consumed, and mystified.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.
If I could shake fictional characters, that's what I would do. But alas I cannot so I must keep reading even if it kills me just so I can see these characters figure their s*^+ out.
BAM! BOOKGASM!! My first book by E.L. and I absolutely loved it. Couldn't put it down!! Volt is edible!! Great writing, perfect mix of angst and romance. AHHHH!! On to the rest of the series!!
I felt like this series had great potential, and the first book really did set the stage for like a dramatic romance series, but it pretty much just irritated me. However, I still couldn't put the book down, and I managed to consume all four books in the series in a matter of less than forty-eight hours.
I did not realise at first that this series was about the same couple. I actually thought it was gonna be an interconnected standalone series, but I quickly found out that wasn't the case.
Then it left me thinking....how was just a simple romcom going to drag out for 4 books, unless it had some intense plot line, which it didn't, by the way.
I liked Volt as a main character. I thought he started off strong - In the whole, he became a reformed f*** boy for a girl that he quickly fell in love with - at the statt of the book he deals with a sh*tter of a situation incolving his ex GF. However, i did NOT like that just because of his past, he was so quick to anger and aggression, and the way he was in that scene with Taylor.
BUT I did enjoy the pining, the longing, and the grovelling that came after it.
I initially enjoyed Taylor as an fmc as well, but the amount of miscommunication that repeatedly happened throughout this book and then the annoying drama of her having to choose between her friend and her boyfriend, who she claimed, was the love of her life was so infuriating! I wanted to reach into the book and smack her upside the head numerous times. Her BFF was an absolute ogre, and I disliked her from the beginning!!
But all's well, that ends well, I found the whole Clay aspect quite random, but also it gave the series a little more depth to it. And found that the epilogue was a nice close out to the whole series.

This book continues the story of Taylor and Volt. As Volt realizes he is falling in love with his best friend, Taylor begins dating someone. The angst in this story is intense. Volt struggles with himself to not interfer with Taylor's happiness. Taylor likes Sage, but is not falling into love with him. She struggles to figure out why. Spark truly shows how hard it is to love someone from the outside. Volt is a true friend and in love, giving up his own desires for the better if Taylor. "If you love someone, let them go. If they return back to you, It was meant to be."
Michael Ferraiuolo and Lia Langola once again bring this book to life. Mr. Ferraiuolo is the perfect Volt. Volt was a complex character in this story. Mr. Ferraiuolo narrated every intricate part of Volt perfectly. Lia Langola is an amazing Taylor. Ms. Langola has a flair for strong, independent women. Her narration of Taylor brings out the struggles Taylor is going through. I felt as if I was Taylor's best friend and she was talking to me. I loved everything about this narration. Jumping headfirst into the next book of the series!
Volt is starting to realize that he wants Taylor for himself. He doesn't tell her his feelings so therefore she doesn't have any idea. Taylor is very naive and trusts too easily.
Taylor starts dating Sage and Volt hates him. He is a great guy that really likes Taylor. Unfortunately, Volt is Taylor's best friend and when he calls, she goes running. Sage doesn't understand their relationship and continues to tell Taylor that Volt is in love with her. Sage also knows that Taylor has strong feelings for Volt but she denies it.
Taylor takes Volt home for the holiday and her parents love Volt. They want him in the family. Volt ends up sleeping in the same bed with Taylor and nothing happens except cuddling. They end up having a great time together. Taylor calls Sara before the holiday is over. She talks to her and says she can imagine her life without him. Volt overheard Taylor on the phone and thought she was talking about her feelings for Sage.
Volt goes home and he is really down but knows what he has to do. Volt goes and talks to Sage. He told Sage what he overheard Taylor saying on the phone. Sage told Volt that he knows that Taylor only has feelings for him. Sage wishes Volt luck with Taylor.
Me he enamorado de Taylor. He pasado semanas intentando negar mis sentimientos, pero no puedo seguir haciéndolo.
Spark :A Best -Friend To Lover Contemporary Romance (Electric Series Book 2)
They became friends, but Volt fell in love with her and now he is stuck. Taylor still does see beyond their friends relationship. Her parents and everyone else realize that she is in love with Volt! Volt takes care of his friends. He is tutoring a 15 old boy that should be in foster care, but Clay wants to stick it out because he doesn't want to go into the system. He wants to study for the SAT and try to go to college someday. Volt is trying hard to protect him from his father, so far it has helped. Volt is now confused why Taylor thinks she's not in love with anyone. He has been trying hard not to inferior with her other relationships and trying to for get her, but he just loves her to much. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book. This story is simply delicious to read. ENJOY!!
I really wanted to love Spark by E.L. Todd because I’m actually enjoying the dynamic between Volt and Taylor—their chemistry has potential, and the characters are likable enough to keep me turning the pages.
BUT… this story seriously drags. It feels like I’m on a long road trip with no music and only half a tank of gas. The plot moves at a snail’s pace, and while I’m all for a slow burn, this one forgot to light the match.
There just isn’t enough spice to keep things exciting. I kept waiting for that oomph—the drama, the passion, the tension—but it never quite delivered. I think with a bit more heat and a tighter plot, this could’ve been a 4-star read easily. As it stands though, it left me a bit bored and underwhelmed.
I love Taylor & Volt but I am just so annoyed with both of them for not seeing what’s right in front of them. They are great characters and things are going to get serious when she realises who Sara was dumped by… hello we all know who it was. However I’m confused by Sara and her misery over losing him and also thinking he was going to propose when she was the one cheating with her ex, funny how I know Taylor will probably take her side when she is at fault. This story could and should have been no more than 2 books as it’s getting repetitive and monotonous.
This is the 2nd book in the Electric series. These are not standalone and need to be read in order. Volt realizes that he has true feelings for Taylor but before he can make a move, she ends up dating someone else that she seems to truly like. He will not make a move unless she's single because he doesn't want to be selfish and mess things up with her if she's truly happy. He's also afraid that she won't return his feelings and that it will ruin their friendship. This book is a little more repetitive which I see lot in EL Todd's books. The first book not so much but it's back in this book. Here's a bunch of back and forth with the characters. Even though everyone keeps telling both Volt and Taylor that they are in love with each other neither of them seem to see it! I wish one of them would finally just come clean with their feelings already!! I still really enjoyed this book and read in under a day! I can't wait to see what happens next! I love both main characters and hope that Volt and Taylor finally get their HEA. I still think we're waiting on a big bang to come up that I've been thinking from the first book but I must read on to see if my assumptions are right. I floored at Volts actions at the end of this one and I really wanted to slap him and say, "What are you thinking?!?!". On to the next book in the series... I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
after finishing the first book of the series and left with a huge cliffhanger, i went searching for the second book right away. i can't believe they are still not together! but i suppose that is what series are about. i enjoyed the book immensely nonetheless! the waiting was so difficult to endure yet i sat through the book in one sitting easily. i believe i am as conflicted as Volt and Taylor right now, a lot like their feelings towards each other.
I’m annoyed with volt and Tayz! Seriously, how many misunderstandings can a couple have? Also, I feel like this was half a book and it could have been combined with the first. Hope volt adopts the kid who is being abused. The first book had all these characters and the second book didn’t! Will their stories continue!? On to the next book where I hope some things will be cleared up!
You know when your meant to hate a character because of their frustrating ways but end up still loving them, yeah that’s Volt. He’s been the nice guy and got hurt, decided to be the bad guy, doesn’t work out and now he’s fighting his feelings, back to being the good guy.
This series is definitely a surprise, I didn’t think a series this big about two people would work but it’s written so well, captivating and all around entertaining.
This is a continuation of Volt and Taylor’s story. It’s just more of the same of going back-and-forth of liking each other but not admitting it. Taylor finally admitted to herself she likes him, but doesn’t think Volt will feel the same way. Volt tries to have a relationship with someone else and forget about her, but it just doesn’t work.
Another fast read that went pretty well. I find this series to be typical in some parts, but for the most part...the author has kept and held my interest.
I appreciate that the author has continued with the slow burn into the second book while giving us a sprinkle of heated moments between the two main characters.
Not as good as the first, but still could not stop reading
I feel like this series couple possibly be written in 2 books. I was excited initially that the main characters stories continued on into book two. Then I realized all 4 books are about the main characters. I felt at times this story really dragged. I just wish they would communicate better. 3.5/5 ⭐️ .5/5 🔥
