Volt and Taylor finally express how they feel about each other, but not without difficulty. It pretty much takes ever one in their life to spell it out for them. Sadly they don't get to be happy very long before problems arise. Off to book 4 to I hope what is their Happily Ever After. ARC provided by author.
We are on yet another roller coaster that i wish that i could get off. While i’m all for a dynamic ‘should we or shouldn’t we situation, this one is getting to be a bit much with the amount of whip lash. The challenge with Volt and Taylor is that they don’t admit to themselves what they want until it’s too late and they both don’t acknowledge their faults.
Volt is too quick to judge and cut people off, which is what he did to Sara and what he does here to Taylor. Taylor on the other hand doesn’t let things just lay where they should. She allows moments of reprieve from time to time and in moments after that, she allows the smallest things to ruin what could be great.
The bulk of this story though is still watching them deny what they are to each other. Taylor is in a relationship with someone else, and seems to be happy until she always chooses to be with Volt and manage him instead of her boyfriend. I can only imagine how that feels to Sage, the bf, and i’m not surprised when he makes his point and feelings clear.
Volt realizes FINALLY That he wants to be what Taylor needs but his problem is that he’s already established that he’s not that kind of guy, and we also know that he’s hiding quite a few things from her which will of course blow up in their faces. The biggest perhaps is that his father is her boss….no way that’s going to end well since his father doesn’t rate Taylor.
So we watch this relationship implode before it even starts and then we watch far too many false starts. I think they are both masochists to an extent to keep allowing this to happen to each other, but it’s also like a car wreck where i have no choice but to continue to read.
On the other hand, at least we have some happy thoughts happening with Natalie and Jared. They didn’t see what was in front of them until someone else came in the way, and they finally figure out how to make it work. We don’t get to dive too deeply into it, but i think that’s the moment of happiness and bliss that this series deserves.
Where we are left off in this one is yet another fight, another bunch of lies and well, it’s no shocker that Taylor and Volt can’t find a way to be together. Honestly, i think it’s for the best at this point, and i can’t wait to see how the Volt (Muriel)/Sara thing explodes since that HAS to happen soon.
Drama, heartache, betrayal, secrets, jealousy, forgiveness, and ultimately, love... the suspense continues in Burn, book three in the Electric Series. The characters are intriguing and the story is captivating. I couldn't put the damn book down.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.
Burn Electric series book 3 E.L Todd Author review. 4 this is the best one so far Stars
Halle- fuckin-luiah, Derek puts it perfectly. After so much toing and froing Volt and Taylor have finally found each other in more than a “friendship “. This book, was the best yet and now I’m seriously hanging to start Combust, the 4th and final instalment in the Electric series.
As Volt and Taylor finally pull their shit together, the relationship that the pair have fought against since that that 1st meeting and subsequent bumping into on the street is moving ahead. But with everything that is Volt and Taylor it’s never easy. Volt still struggles with the memory of his ex-girlfriend and her cheating on him as he was about to ask her to marry him, now with Taylor in front of him and the undeniable feelings she brings to him things become clear as mud...
For Taylor being cheated on was possibly the worst thing she had to deal with, but as always, her best friend Volt is always there to pick her back up and make everything ok. But sadly there is another huge obstacle that they are still to face. If you have followed the story from the beginning you would have seen in the prologue Volt’s past. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to work out the people involved and the guaranteed huge blow up that is bound to happen.
As a couple Volt and Taylor have crazy insane chemistry, and giving into that was the smartest move for this very complicated pair. Meeting each others family, finding secrets and the biggest test for them will break them before they have got the chance to really be together. Never enough drama, Volt and Taylor will have to face the biggest hurdle yet - cheating. The one thing that has plagued both of their lives and now their relationship. Now the truth will be the explosive ending to the Electric series. I off to start Combust – see ya
I felt like this series had great potential, and the first book really did set the stage for like a dramatic romance series, but it pretty much just irritated me. However, I still couldn't put the book down, and I managed to consume all four books in the series in a matter of less than forty-eight hours.
I did not realise at first that this series was about the same couple. I actually thought it was gonna be an interconnected standalone series, but I quickly found out that wasn't the case.
Then it left me thinking....how was just a simple romcom going to drag out for 4 books, unless it had some intense plot line, which it didn't, by the way.
I liked Volt as a main character. I thought he started off strong - In the whole, he became a reformed f*** boy for a girl that he quickly fell in love with - at the statt of the book he deals with a sh*tter of a situation incolving his ex GF. However, i did NOT like that just because of his past, he was so quick to anger and aggression, and the way he was in that scene with Taylor.
BUT I did enjoy the pining, the longing, and the grovelling that came after it.
I initially enjoyed Taylor as an fmc as well, but the amount of miscommunication that repeatedly happened throughout this book and then the annoying drama of her having to choose between her friend and her boyfriend, who she claimed, was the love of her life was so infuriating! I wanted to reach into the book and smack her upside the head numerous times. Her BFF was an absolute ogre, and I disliked her from the beginning!!
But all's well, that ends well, I found the whole Clay aspect quite random, but also it gave the series a little more depth to it. And found that the epilogue was a nice close out to the whole series.

These books must be read in order. This time Taylor struggles with her true feeling about Volt. Her friends keep insisting that she is falling for Volt. But Taylor knows what he is. Or does she. In Burn, Taylor struggles with her own emotions as she watches Volt be more than just a manwhore. As a reader, we know they are in love with each other, but Taylor and Volt are too hurt from past experiences or too stubborn to admit it. I really enjoyed the softer side of Volt and hope it would continue. I got completely wrapped up in this story. I like the fact that it is taking them awhile to realize their true feelings.
Lia Langola and Michael Ferraiuolo are consistently the best narrating team for this series. I really like the consistency of the narration. It helps the stories flow together. If you listen to them one after the other, it is an extremely smooth transition. Both Lia and Michael never falter in keeping the character's voices consistent. Their voices compliment each other and flow smoothly together. I am jumping right into the last book of the series.
I always try to be honest with my reviews as I know I have to be honest with myself as well as the author. I do love Volt & Taylor together and their friend circle are all good or funny characters, we all know who Sara is I mean that was obvious from book one. However I don’t know why the author dragged this story out over 4 books at all maybe she didn’t want to end the characters or it was for more sales I honestly don’t know but I have actually skipped so much of the last 2 books as it’s just the same repetitive information. I will more than likely skip this next book to where Volt sees his past again and they get their HEA, I just found it boring after a while as 4 books is just too much and too long drawn out. I’m only giving a 4 due to loving the characters if it was based on how drawn out this story is it would be a 2 sorry just my opinion.
Burn : A beats friend To Lovers Contemporary Romance (Heat Book 3)
They finally get together and start talking, enjoying each other and falling in love again. Then it all changed in a minute because Volt lost it, he thought Taylor was like his last flame, Sara. He saw Taylor kissing someone at her school. Another teacher thought she was available. She set him straight, told him she was taken. Volt went over into the deep end, dark thoughts ran through him, telling Taylor to get out of his life! Taylor finally decided to find out what the truth was and she approached Volt. This story is absolutely incredible to read and I have really enjoyed reading this story. What's going to happen between these two ? I can't wait to fin out whatever comes next! ENJOY Her
I was so annoyed and frustrated reading this book. If I hadn’t become invested in the characters by book two, I would have left this as DNF. The break ups, the drama, the lack of communication- all of these were immature and not how people act. From a writing perspective, the dialogue was childish and sometimes unrealistic. I really didn’t like this book! And yet, Todd ended it in such a way that I went straight on to book four. This is my frustration when reading Todd’s books: they are not well written, they are not always enjoyable and yet she succeeds in making me read on, therefore making her a good author!
i cannot believe the twist that was taking place! after all these while, after going through two books and some seriously agonizing wait, Vote and Taylor finally ended up together to breakup again? the author had some serious skills in writing to have me still sticking around, following the series obediently, and even dropping a 5 stars review. but to be honest, i enjoyed every minute i had on the book again. it was so captivating i can't stop reading even after my visions started to blur. i have to get my hands on the next book, i have to know what happens next!
Ohhh these two. I want to bang their heads together. What a rollercoaster their relationship is and they need to learn how to communicate! So frustrating, but having said that I’m still enjoying the series.
I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but all I’m going to say is I knew it!! I guessed his real name and I guessed who Sara was. You could see that coming a mile off.
Picking up the final book in the series right now to find out if these two get their act together and if Volt and Sara come face to face. I feel like I need to know what happened that night from Sara’s POV….
Loved this series #3. Still tired of Taylor's antics and keep on running & inability to forgive Volt. Volt is kind and generous to her. I also did not like how she interfered with Clay, she broke the bond between Volt & Clay...unforgivable. I know she wanted his safety but they should have took him in. I fell so bad for that young man. Sara is to judgemental for me. I am happy Volt did not end up with her!
These two have more misunderstandings than any characters that I’ve ever read about! It’s exhausting! It took two books and about 9 chapters into the 3rd book for them to finally get together and now they’ve broken up! Also who is this Sara, and what is Volt’s real name? Could he be the Muriel that broke up with Taylor’s best friend? Don’t know if I have it in me to finish this series…
Volt is an idiot, and he still won’t tell Taylor about Sara, who as we all expected since her first mention in book 1 is the ex that scarred Volt so badly. We all know that’s going to be another huge blow up in book 4 once Taylor and Bolt patch things up.
I think the whole premise of the book makes little sense when it comes to friends. Why would Sara not know Volt’s middle name? Why wouldn’t Sara and Volt have met after 8+ months? But I’m rolling with it.
Until finally they realized both that they liked and they died to be together, but insecurities and secrets can sometimes damage even the most beautiful and perfect relationship, in trust and respect this one of the most solid bases of a relationship. I love this story and to know that I have to wait longer to know the outcome, I despair but I have to wait again. greetings recommended.
This was the third in the series- I liked it and I think the storyline is good but I feel it could have been in one or two books. Saying that, the font is big so it’s probably not a typical book. There was also an unexpected twist which I liked. I’m still going to read the final in the series to see how it ends up because you really want to find out what happens
Finally they told each other how they felt and very quickly it became a toxic relationship
I was honestly rooting for them! And now it’s a whole mess and they don’t deserve a 4th for any sort of redemption! The only thing I want to see if Volt finding out that Sara is Taylor’s best friend.
This is going to be a disappointing ending to this series I fear…
oh these two people , i have never had a series hook me so bad as this one i have bought them all and read them all back to back because i just have to know what happens , just a good series!
Volt and Taylor finally express how they feel about each other, but not without difficulty. It pretty much takes ever one in their life to spell it out for them. Sadly they don't get to be happy very long before problems arise. Off to book 4
Ugh. So much drama. I hate to say it, but I do really like the characters of Taylor and Volt. But the constant fighting and misunderstanding is starting to grate my nerves. I've heard really great things about the final book, so I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.
Now that Taylor and Volt are together everything is great. Until a another teacher hits on Taylor and kisses her with Volt seeing. Is Volt gonna do the same thing he did to his ex? Or will this be the end of them? Great read.
