Alan Spencer knew his blind date with an important client's eligible daughter would be a disaster -- weren't all such arranged encounters? But from the moment he met Glory Wainwright and looked into her sapphire-blue eyes, he began to believe again in romantic miracles. Glory did her best to discourage the attentions of the impossibly good-looking executive whose fierce interest threatened her very secret other life -- the one her father knew nothing about. But Alan never took no for an answer -- not in business, and not in love. He vowed to track down the fascinating and elusive lady whose gaze bound him to her in a raging fire as old as time... and to unravel the sensual web she'd wrapped around his heart....

The hero meets the heroine because he needs to business with her father and he doesn't want to meet her but is enchanted when he does, however when he tries to talk to her, she seems like an air-head.

The next time he meets her is at a society-do and he sees that she put on an act for him, before he can get an explanation she leaves. He meets her again in a bad part of town and she again gives him the slip, he can't seem to stop thinking about her but can't track her and then he finally meets her in her E.R where she is a doctor and he learns her secrets, how she lives with a bunch of crazy room-mates and how her father doesn't know that she is a doctor.

The heroine is attracted to him but worried that her father would find out, he's not a bad guy but protective of her and a doctor holds bad memories for him because of her uncle and she doesn't want to hurt him.

The book was pretty short though the heroine acted foolish when the hero took her away and took care of her, she seemed to think it was revenge when it was clear it was love.
