It’s been so long since I was last in the Mythos Academy world, and oh man did I miss it! I just love this world to pieces! And this short story takes place during Halloween! Double win!



One of the many things I love about Jennifer’s books is that she always does such a great job at recapping thing in her books. And this short story was not exception! So hurray for that, ‘cause it’s been awhile since I last read a Mythos Academy book. Lol.

Another thing I love about her books is the slow burn romance. This short story takes place between books 1 and 2 so Logan and Gwen aren’t together yet, and it does make me a little sad, but I much prefer this over instalove!

The Spartan might be with another girl right now, he might have said that we couldn’t be together, but things weren’t over with Logan and me yet. They were just getting started.

And goddamn was the sexual tension in this was palpable! I loved it! And I adore Logan! I pretty much swoon every single time he shows up. Lol.

He smiled at me—a warm, sexy teasing grin that took my breath away.

Girl, same.



I also love Daphne! She is so funny! And Vic, Gwen’s sword, too! He is so sassy and bloodthirsty it’s hilarious!

Jennifer typically writes really good fight scenes. The fight scene in this one wasn’t as extensive as in the actual books, but I’m not saying it was bad! It’s just that the story was more focused on the characters, whom I just love, so I didn't mind!

Speaking of the action sequence, I loved that Logan and Gwen fought side by side instead of Logan just rescuing Gwen and saving the day.

The Spartan had been right about something tonight. Whether the new dangers were tricks, treats, or something else, I’d hold my own against them, just the way had so far.

Overall, I really enjoyed this novella! It was short and sweet! And I just absolutely love the characters and the world they live in. Mythos Academy, my favorite series.

This was a cute little novella between novels in the series. The only part I really liked about it was with Logan, and that makes me sad since it was a Halloween story and Estep could've done so many cool things with this little story. It was cute, I bet it was a sweet read when waiting between book publishings.

Die Serie scheint wohl nichts für mich zu sein. Auf wenigen Seiten war es mir zu viel Aufgebrezel, Angehimmel und wieso war es diesem Viech überhaupt möglich, auf das Schulgelände zu kommen? Aber gut, dass ich so mal in die Reihe hineinschnuppern konnte. Dafür eignen sich solche Kurzgeschichten hervorragend. Für Fans ein kleines Schmanckerl, das die Welt erweitert.

Jennifer Esteps Akademie Reihe "Mythos Academy" hat Zuwachs bekommen. Bereits mit der zweiten Ebook Kurzgeschichte bezaubert sie ihre Leser. "Halloween Frost" spielt zwischen ihrem ersten Band "Frostkuss" und dem Zweiten "Frostfluch" Natürlich spielt die Handlung zu Halloween und natürlich dreht sich wieder alles Spannende um eine meiner liebsten Buchprotagonistinnen Gwen Frost. Da ich bereits den dritten Band der Mythos Academy Reihe verschlungen habe, war es äußerst amüsant in der Handlung eine Art Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit zu unternehmen. Denn nach diesem Zeitpunkt hat sich schon Einiges getan. Nun aber zur Handlung des Ebooks: Natürlich feiern auch die Jugendlichen und sogar Lehrer der Mythos Academy Halloween. Der stattfindende Trick-or-Treat Spatziergang durch die Passagen der angrenzenden Stadt ist mehr als ein einfaches Süßigkeitenabstauben! Denn an die Mythos Academy grenzen nur Edelboutiquen, Luxusjuweliere und andere Kostbarkeiten und all diese Läden haben kleine Spenden für die Schüler. Ich bin so eifersüchtig und möchte sofort wissen, wo sich ein solches Paradies befindet!

Ich freue mich sehr über ein Wiedertreffen mit allen wundervollen Charakteren aus der "Mythos Academy" Reihe. Selbst der liebenswerte, etwas mürrisch wirkende Bibliothekar Nickamedis hat seinen Auftritt. Natürlich kommen auch alle Hauptcharaktere in der Handlung vor. Keine Panik! Auch auf Gwens Schwert Nic und seine sarkastischen Sprüche braucht der Leser nicht zu verzichten. Ich habe natürlich sehr auf eine kleine Liebesszene zwischen Gwen und dem Spartaner Logan, den Gwen seit den ersten Seiten der Reihe vollkommen verfallen ist und ununterbrochen anschmachtet, gehofft. Und auch in diesem Aspekt wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Hach, Logan! ♥ *sabber*

Wie so ein kleines, niedliches Ebook doch die sowieso schon gigantische Lust auf den nächsten Band der "Mythos Academy" Reihe ins Unermessliche steigern kann. Ich frage mich, wie die Autorin es geschafft hat, auf knapp 30 Buchseiten, eine kleine Liebesgeschichte und ein Spannungshoch zu erschaffen. Jennifer Estep bereitet ihren Lesern mit "Halloween Frost" ein wunderschönes Halloween Geschenk. Natürlich lässt sich dieser Schmankerl auch zu jeder anderen, beliebigen Jahreszeit lesen. Das Halloween-Feeling wird auf jeden Fall aufkommen! Und jetzt bin ich wieder voll und ganz der Frost-Sucht verfallen und freue mich auf das Lesen des vierten Bandes.

Wann kann ich es lesen: Wie der Klappentext schon sagt spielt es zwischen Frostkuss und –fluch. Es verrät aber nichts, was für die weitere Handlung wichtig wäre also kann man es lesen, wann man will. Den ersten Teil würde ich allerdings schon beendet haben.
Meine Meinung: Mit bekannt schönem Schreibstil erzählt Jenifer Estep hier den Ausflug von Gwen an Halloween. Mit Daphne macht sie die Stadt unsicher und als dann Gefahr auftaucht, bekommt das eShort eine Menge Spannung. Natürlich ist auch Logan direkt zur Stelle und sorgt so für den nötigen Anbetungsfaktor. Aber mal im Ernst? So gern ich etwas von Gwen lese und so spannend und lustig dieses eShort auch wieder war, ich finde es für den weiteren Verlauf der Geschichte nich relevant noch zeigt es irgendetwas aus einer anderen Sicht etc. So bleibt Halloween Frost für mich einfach etwas Nettes für zwischendurch, was mir jedoch irgendwie auch ein wenig Lesezeit geraubt hat.
Bewertung: Das eShort zu Halloween birgt nicht nur an Halloween jede Menge lustige, gruselige oder spannende Stellen. Es entführt uns kurz in Gwens Welt, ist aber leider irgendwie unnötig. Verschmerzen kann man dies aber, wenn man bedenkt, dass man es sich kostenlos herunterladen kann. Halloween Frost bekommt von mir 4 von 5 Füchschen.

I don’t know how I missed reading this short until just now, especially since I’ve had the Entangled anthology since it came out. It was a little difficult reading this since it was before Logan and Gwen got together and I hated seeing them apart. Besides that little tidbit, the short story was great. I love how everyone was so into Halloween except Gwen, even Nikademes. It was really over too soon, but I think it only felt that way cause I just finished Killer Frost and the series is really truly over. I was kind of hoping Halloween Frost would help prolong things, but sadly I devoured it quickly.

This is definitely a must read and then reread series for me, including these novellas. I’m so glad that I have them in my collection.

Eigentlich bestand die Kurzgeschichte nur aus Wiederholungen, was es mit Gwen auf sich hatte und wie sie sich in der Gegenwart von den Statuen auf der Mythos Academy fühlt. Groß jetzt irgendwie etwas mit Halloween gab es nicht - hab es mir etwas anders vorgestellt. Aber ich glaube, bei den Kurzgeschichten sollte ich echt keine Erwartungen mehr haben :D Na ja, es gibt jetzt auch nur noch eine mit/von dem sexy Logan ... Mal schauen, ob ich die mir hole ...

Once again a great addition to an already kick butt YA series. I love Gwen, Daphne, Carson and Logan (not to mention Vic!! who couldn't love a talking blood thirsty sword?).

This was perfect for the Halloween series and reminded me all over again why I love this series. Very well done!

Das Cover gefällt mir sehr gut, da es denen der richtigen Reihe rund um die Mythos-Academy gleicht und somit einen Wiedererkennungsfaktor hat. Wir sehen hier auf weißem Grund die Typischen Augen, welche dem Betrachter der Reihe stets entgegenblicken. Von daher passt es ganz gut.



Eigener Eindruck:
Halloween an der Mythos Academy. Gwen lässt sich trotz vieler Einwände dazu überreden mit durch die Straßen zu ziehen, auch wenn sie sich nicht verkleidet. Doch der lustige Ausflug wird je beendet, als das Grauen durch die Gassen zieht und Gwen beweisen muss, dass sie auch kämpfen kann. Hilfe bekommt sie dabei nicht nur von ihren Freunden, sondern von Jemanden, der ihr Herz stets höherschlagen lässt und immer zur Stelle ist, wenn man ihn braucht.



Mit dieser kostenlos zu habenden Bonusgeschichte aus dem Reich der Mythos-Academy bekommen neugierige Leser einen ersten Einblick in die Welt der Academy und lernen die ersten Charaktere kennen. Wer die Story noch nicht kennt, wird hier aber leider schon ganz hart gespoilert, was ich persönlich ein bisschen schade fand, aber es war trotzdem so gut geschrieben, dass ich mir schließlich die Bücher der Reihe gekauft habe. Da es sich hier um eine Bonusgeschichte und quasi nur eine Zwischensequenz handelt, habe ich auch nicht so viel vorausgesetzt. Der Bonus liest sich locker und leicht und man kommt auch als Neuzugang sehr schnell in die Geschichte herein und kann sich auch schnell mit den Charakteren anfreunden. Die Kampfszene ist vielleicht ein bisschen lasch geschrieben, war aber trotzdem recht gut zu verfolgen. Ein paar Fragen hat die Geschichte für mich jedoch auch aufgeworfen, die jedoch rein mit der Logik zu tun haben. Denn wenn dort überall Lehrer sind und alles scheinbar gesichert, wie konnten de Monster dann doch unbemerkt dort auftauchen – aber das ist eher so eine Randbeobachtung.





Fazit:

Ein toller Appetizer für Fans der Reihe Mythos-Academy und jene, die es vielleicht noch werden können. Zwar spoilert die Geschichte schon einige Charaktere, wie ich feststellen musste, aber, wenn man darüber hinweg sehen kann ist es wirklich ein kleiner, aber feiner Leckerbissen, den man durchaus einmal gelesen haben kann.

Gwen wird von Daphne dazu genötigt, an Halloween Süßigkeiten zu sammeln, obwohl Gwen lieber mit Comics und Schokolade im Bett liegen würde. Auf ihrem Rundgang durch Cypress Hill kommen Gwen, Daphne und Carson an vielen bekannten Gesichtern vorbei, auch an Logan Quinn, für den Gwen immer noch Gefühle hegt, obwohl er sie hat abblitzen lassen. Aber nicht nur Logan kreuzt ihren Weg, auch ein Nemeischer Pirscher hat es auf sie abgesehen.

Diese Kurzgeschichte spielt zwischen Band 1 "Frostkuss" und dem zweiten Teil "Frostfluch" und gibt einen kleinen Einblick in das Halloween-Treiben auf der Mythos Academy. Das es dort nicht so zugeht, wie man es als normaler Mensch kennt, ist wohl klar. Alles ist edler, kostspieliger und voluminöser. Anstatt Süßigkeiten werden Geschenke verteilt, so z. B. Schmuck. Alles wirkt aufgesetzt und reich.

Auch Gwen fühlt sich zu Anfang nicht so wohl, doch durch Daphne und Carson entspannt sie sich und lässt sich auf die ganze Sache ein.

Der kurze Abstecher zu Halloween eignet sich jedoch gut, um den Angriff des Nemeischen Pirschers zu beschreiben, da diese dunkle Gestalt, die für die Schnitter arbeitet, perfekt in diese Zeit passt.

Natürlich kommt es zu einem großen Durcheinander, als der Pirscher auftaucht, doch Gwen und ihr Schwert Vic sind schon ein eingespieltes Team und arbeiten gut zusammen.

Der kurze Lichtblick, der bei dem Gespräch mit Quinn aufblitzt, macht Hoffnung auf die weiteren Bände.

This was a cute little addition to the Mythos Academy world. My biggest complaint is that it was too small. Jennifer Estep is known to repeat a lot of details and you have to get used to it however I feel like in a short story especially of this length, if you took out things that readers should probably already know then it wouldn't be that long. Honestly in this story I don't think it really matters if you don't know everything about the characters or things that's happened. I really wish this book was longer honestly, I love the mythos world and I love Halloween so the fact I get it together was amazing. Daphne was funny, Logan was sexy and badass, Vic is also pretty great. Another good thing about it being a short story is that Gwen didn't have enough time to annoy me so yay Gwen I liked you more this book than the last two.

Gwen with Daphne and Carson go out trick-or-treating in Cypress Mountains getting all sorts of goodies from stores and then while walking Gwen notices a nemean prowler which starts to attack the group and they lose all their goodies R.I.P The fight scene was cut into like a single sentence or two which doesn't matter overall but I don't think it would've hurt if it was longer unless Jennifer Estep had a word limit. Halloween Frost is pretty good, I enjoyed it other than length. It doesn't add anything lore wise but it's a fun quick read for fans of the series.

It's Halloween and the Mythos students LOVE Halloween! Unbeknownst to Gwen, she will take part in the traditional Treat or Treating ritual, Mythos style. Will her best friend Daphne and her boyfriend Carson be able to turn Gwen into a lover or a hater of the blasted tradition?

The yearly tradition of Halloween, for the descendants of the mythical Gods, is to trick or treat in town, where all the shops are decorated and geared up to lavish the rich kids with gourmet treats and jewels. As the trio go from shop to shop, Gwen spies Logan, the love of her life, with the Amazon Savannah. Just when Gwen thinks that is the worst thing ever to happen to her that night, BAM!

This short Halloween tale gives us a glimpse of just how “normal” these kids at Mythos are. I mean, how down to earth can you get with them celebrating Halloween! Like a couple of 10-year olds, they are giddy with excitement as they dress in their costumes, and fantasize about how full of goodies they will fill their buckets. It's so innocent, it's adorable. But we are quickly reminded of what world they live in. Halloween Frost was a very entertaining glimpse into the lives of Gwen and her friends, and I hope I never stop enjoying it!

I didn't know anything about the world of Mythos Academy because I have never read the first installment but it sounds like the protagonist Gwen Frost, is training to be a kickass warrior. I like it a lot. I picked it up because it is near Halloween.
Gwen's friend wants to dress up and go trick or treating but their fun was lost on a monster and that is just how it is at Mythos Academy. Fight and kill as many of those things as possible. However, the one she has a crush on saves her, yet again. O be still my heart. Her sword, Vic, can talk and has a mouth on him. It was a gift from some god. I need to work out the details guys so don't @ me. It looks like their bags of treats was lost on someone playing a mean trick on them.

It's a nice read and not alot happened but you don't really expect it to because it's a short. However, I did expect it to be a little bit longer. I already expressed how I felt about Logan in my Touch of Frost review and I think that he's at his best when he's just being friendly and him and Gwen are throwing little quips at each others. I just roll my eyes a little when the googoo gaga romance thing comes into play. He's an alright guy, he just has some explaining to do. Also, like i said before, I can definitely see a battle trio forming with Gwen, Logan, and Daphne and it's something I'm looking forward to.

Great short mythos story

I just love this author and her books. This series is one it my absolute favorites! I have seat this series a couple of times and each time is even better. It is never disappointing! Gwen and her friends are lucky go have each other. I love that i can practically picture this like a movie in my head as I'm reading. I feel like in a part of the story as if I'm right there there with Gwen and everyone experiencing everything that they are. truly a great read!

Diese Kurzgeschichte hat mir trotz ihres kurzen Umfanges wieder sehr gut gefallen.
Gwen, Daphne, Carson, Logan und Co. wurden sehr gut dargestellt und es hat mir großen Spaß gemacht, sie wiederzusehen.
Die Handlung, die Atmosphäre und das Setting fand ich auch wieder sehr facettenreich gestaltet und Jennifer Estep bekommt es immer spielend hin, dass ich mich unterhalten fühle. Ich liebe ihren Humor.
Insgesamt kann ich diese durchaus kurze Kurzgeschichte für Mythos Fans weiterempfehlen.

Basically a Deleted Scene

If you know the people, the story is entertaining. It seems about 6-8 pages so no time for additional fleshing of characters. It was a good added snippet to go with the book series, but it doesn't really advance anything. If you're looking for more go for the series and wait for this to be free again. Or see if you can borrow from your local digital library. Even at a dollar it's not worth it except for die-hard Mythos fans.

I absolutely love this series and can never get enough of Gwen Frost and company! Although "Halloween Frost" takes place between the first and second books of the series, it's not necessary to have read "Touch Of Frost" to be able to follow along.

My only complaint? It's too short! Of course, that's because it's a novella. In all honesty though, I never want to leave this incredible world that author Jennifer Estep has created!

A tricky read!

This short little read was just a little bit of heaven. Perfect for the fan of this series - if they just want to see the heroine and her friends just kick some butt.

Full of gods, goddesses, champions, family, Gypsies, visions, magic, truths, secrets, creatures and romance.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romances/urban fantasy romances/mythology reads.

This was a really nice short story. It needs to be read after the first book or it will not make any sense.
It gives some inside of Gwen's feelings for Logan and shows her bad-ass side. A must-read for fans.
