i did not expect much from this book, but it ended up being a very sweet story. becky, skipper’s cheerleading coach, is in a wheelchair but takes life by the reins. she knows what she’s doing and doesn’t have any trouble showing it. the book does depict some inconveniences she faces, such as others doubting her, lack of accessibility, people being embarrassed when she crashes into something, etc. she takes it all in stride. honestly, i agree, three cheers for becky.
only thing i didn’t like is that for a book about skipper, she seemed like kind of an afterthought. the majority was about becky, barbie, and skipper’s friend amy. i was interested to see what skipper was like before becoming a tech wizard in the barbie movies/shows. but she was just kind of there.
amazing doll dioramas. i want to know how they made that cheerleading pyramid! although i will point out, where was the mat that was supposed to be on the stage? lol.
