Young, virginal and alone woman in a creepy house with creepy people, a handsome and mysterious hero and a bunch of secrets. It's total comfort food for the imagination. Though I have to admit the heroine, Victoria, is borderlining on the TSTL scale. I just can't deal with the "one kiss and I'm in love" scenario. Overall, it's just kind of fun.

I loved it and I felt it was extremely well-written! Got hooked right away. The gothic elements relating to mystery/secrets within the Hayne family, the grey Hayne mansion, and the behavior of the side characters helped to build up the frightening spooky atmosphere and not to mention the h being trapped into marrying the handsome H. The romance is dreamy and I liked both the leads and it becomes even better after they are married.
