This book is now an interesting history lesson in robots, computers, programming, AI and neural networks. I find that it helps me to understand what the state of the art was back in the early days so that I can better understand what the state of the art is now. What were people trying to do in the past? What was working? Where did they think things would end up? What predictions did they have for the far-off and amazing year 2000?
I'm quite happy to have read a somewhat gentle introduction into the now basic problems of automating machinery and processes. I enjoyed reading about what was possible with limited computing power, manufacturing capability and technology. I did not struggle too much to understand all the content as I'm progressively imbibing newer material.
