If there's one thing the Doctor ought to remember, it's this: he should never travel alone.
And to help make sure he always has someone suitably brilliant by his side, Clara has compiled this comprehensive guide to travelling with the Doctor. Packed full of hints and tips on topics such as introducing the Doctor to your family, packing for life on the TARDIS and practising alien first aid, this guide will fully prepare you for life as a companion!
Overall the book was quite fun to read. It is aimed at the "new" companion for the doctor. I liked all the tips and the explanation of the different doctors, aliens and companions. There were some things i actually didn't know about. The only reason why it has 4 stars is because the book is written as a childrens book i feel. The language is easy and some things didn't really feel like the character. I think they could have spend a little more time on it.
So. Awesome. Any fan of Doctor Who, now I mean a REAL fan, would love this not-really-a-book. More of a scrapbook, really. Gonna be one of those books I just re-read over and over again... 5 out of 5!!!
Another fantastic book. This one is special for me. I had my eye on it for a while and I added it to my wish-list for Christmas but I got it like a month and a half early...
It may not be interesting but it's the story of how and why I got it early. Here it goes, Jenna Coleman (the actress playing Clara Oswald on Doctor Who) was coming to my country to the Heroes Comic-Con and I bought a ticket to have her autograph and to have a photo with her. So, they said I could give her something I had for her to sign or I could choose between some photos she had. That morning I had this great idea (at least I think it was) about buying this book and taking it there for her to sign it. Brilliant, right? As it's "written" by Clara Oswald who would be better than the actress who plays her role to sign it? Okay, geek moment for me, I know. It was so fast I didn't even ask her if she liked my idea, she just signed it adding my name (and she complimented my Doctor Who t-shirt). But hey, I got what I wanted, I have this book signed by her. And it makes sense for me.
Now, the actual content of the book is amazing as always. This collection is incredible and I hope they never run out of ideas for making them. It's so funny, interesting and full of information. I can't wait to see what the next one is about.
you only need one though: either the companions guide or how to be a timelord. they are very similar and repetitive. like the timelord more. companion was too much focused on clara since she is writing it.
A really sweet summary of Doctor Who, written in the style of Clara, with diary entries and letters from Donna, Ace, Martha, and so many others. Highly recommend to anyone who's a fan of both the old and new series!
This was the perfect graphic novel for any whovian! It was the perfect balance of classic and new DW. I've been a fanatic for years, and I still learned something new. Great for adults or kids.
It was an enjoyable read, but clearly a book aimed at children and thus sometimes the language was very basic and easy, it was fun to read though and the idea of a scrapbook was a good one!
This book was fun to read and gave many explanations about companions for those (like me) who have yet to see the classic who era. I loved the fact that It was written from Clara's POV, and the letter at the end of the book, written by the Doctor was bitter-sweet.
really fun guide to doctor who written from the point of view of Clara oswald. I really enjoyed it as you got little snap shots from different companions in different ways egg letters, Unit reports, diary entries. really would recommend.
